hello
i have an lg optimus 4x and im trying to open the bootloader and no succes.
i understand that i need to have a EUR-XXX version to be able to unlock bootloader and i have this verison and still i cant open bootloader.
i have read a lot of guides and see a lot of video and still stuck with this.
can some one have a simple guide for me?
thank.
There are enough guides out there that you just need to read and understand. If you can't do that then you are better off leaving your phone well alone.
Actually all version can be unlocked now. Read read and read again all the guides because all the info is there

Hi,
I've got the international version of the Optimus 4X HD, bought online in the U.S.
It has been recently updated to V20c - the software version code is P88020c-AME-XXX.
Can I use the same unlock procedure for the EUR-XXX models, or do I need to flash EUR-XXX before attempting to unlock?
I had no troubles rooting the phone by following the instructions in this thread.

EUR-XXX worked for my ESA-XXX. It will work for you, if you have bootloader unlock check in hidden menu. You may have fastboot problem, so be ready with correct driver and correct method.
Refer to this thread if stuck on red colored Download mode for long time and no response-

Alright, thanks for the fast response.
The hidden menu indeed has the bootloader unlock check.
I'll report back once I try it.

Hello P880 community,
i will get my optimux 4x hd in the middle of next month and will probably unlock its bootloader.
i am coming from a Sony wt19i, which is a very different phone, so i have a few noob questions,
1. is there anything that hard bricks the phone? something to avoid?
2. is there a way to relock the bootloader?
3. After i install cm10.1 or PA or something, how do i return to stock?
4. how to update bootloader, radios etc? on my old phone bootloader was not updatable, so any information about the bootloader will be nice.:good:
feel free to provide links to other threads etc,
Linux based solutions will be better since its my primary desktop OS, no problems with windows based ones though.
thanks.

As someone who also recently came from a WT19i to this phone, lemme answer a few of those as best as I can.
1. This phone is very hard to hardbrick on accident, you have to actually want and know what you are doing to fully butcher it.
2. AFAIK, using the official unlock method you cannot relock, but I recall an alternative way to unlock which was relock-friendly.
3. Either make a backup of the Stock rom with CWM before flashing anything, or you can always reflash anew with a .kdz
4. Don't believe we can update the bootloader, and as far as radios go the closer we have is a baseband flash guide for occasional issues.
Hello, I want to root my new Xperia Z3 Compact just to uninstall the carrier's bloatware. It came with 23.1.A.1.28 (i exchanged it for a new galaxy alpha, it was bought at the beginning of June ).
Rooting status says : Bootloader unlock allowed : No.
I don't even want to try to unlock it. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware with locked bootloader?
Will i lose anything? If possible, I'd really like to have a complete guide on both downgrading, rooting and upgrading back.
Thanks.
Hm, that's weird, I've checked "Search" and it's working just fine. Use search or check sticky next time.

sorry and thank you, i did actually try searching for it but i was overwhelmed by what came up and lot's of it lead to guides containing unlocking the bootloader and i'm not really confident tinkering with android much
U can root with downgrade method. But thats all since u cannot unlock ur bootloader. If u follow the posted guide u should get it. Have done it with the guide without unlocking
great, I was kind of confused, I thought i need to unlock the bootloader to flash anything, including the downgrade
Hiya I got a tmobile l90 d415 Its software is on d41520c 5.0.2 an so far its rooted but i think i need to unlock the bootloader an maybe install a custom rom. Im just not sure about which process to unlock my bootloader. Thank you everyone on xda for supporting this cool phone!
Your bootloader I unlocked so no need for that, proceed to installing custom recovery, TWRP is obvious choice for many reasons.
Look a bit around forum and you will find all you need just go easy and good luck !!!
I've done plenty of Android modding but never on the LG G4 because Verizon's evidently can't be unlocked. Just switched to T-Mobile so now I can buy the LG G4 H811 which, from what I've read, is relatively easy to bootloader unlock, install TWRP, etc etc.
BUT -- Will the instructions on these threads work with all variations of the H811 (version of Android, baseband version, etc) or only with some? I've read a LOT of threads on this forum but I can't find the answer to this essential question. If when shopping for an LG G4 H811 to FULLY unlock (bootloader, TWRP, root, supersu) there are some I should AVOID, can someone tell me which ones?

ALL H811's are bootloader unlockable. Just:
Settings --> Developer Options ---> OEM Unlocking (checked) && USB Debugging (checked)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot getvar unlocked (to verify)
fastboot reboot
You will want to install the TWRP recovery image like so:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <twrp.img>
fastboot reboot
