CM10.1 install help - Motorola Atrix HD

I can't post in the development thread yet. I am rooted and have an unlocked bootloader. I made a backup of my stock ICS rom, formatted system, and tried to install CM10.1. I can't post the exact error message because my phone is my internet, but it says something about "getprop."
I followed the instruction exactly as they said. I also tried installing when the system was, and wasn't, mounted. I get the same getprop error. If more information is needed let me know and I'll do what I can to get it. This is my first time dealing with Android custom roms and would love to get it to work.
Don't worry about using any technical terms. I'm a quick learner when it comes to things like this. Computers and other related subjects are my passion!

you have to be on jellybean before you can flash any roms.

I'll update to JB and try it again.
Edit: Here's the exact error I get. Even after updating to JB.
"installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "olympus" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "olympus"
E:Error in /external_sd/CM10.1/cm-10.1-20130211-unofficial-epinter-olympus.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted"

Olympus sounds like the wrong cm download.. Did you get the one out of the Atrix HD development section on here?

I have the Atrix HD forum bookmarked. I'll check again.

Your definitely trying to install the original Atrix 4g phone version.
Here. I'm feeling nice.

The one from this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243812

That's the right thread but you got the wrong Download from somewhere else. Olympus is the Atrix 4g code name... Use my link. And don't forget to flash gapps.

I think it's more like 30 topics lol.... Jk
But for real people let's read some stuff before posting

It would all end if someone could find the hole in motorolas armor. I am sick of this company...They haven even put the Atrix HD on the bootloader unlocker site of theirs.
It would end if people searched before they posted. 27 topics isn't gonna make root happen any faster.

hmm...
Is there any way to downgrade to a different version of android then root and so on?
Not as of yet. Also already topics about.

Yeah i chat with one of Motorola support team and i asked them if they will ever unlock them bootloader and they say we working on it maybe with the next update it will be unlocked but i know thats just crap idk why google would let their own company lock its bootloader

Its not Motorola's choice. Att makes them. And I highly doubt they would unlock it via update.

Can anyone hook me up with cwm 5 tar for schi800

iv looked for it here and tried many different ways of googleing it and i get to links but the download is dead. can anyone post it or tell me how to find it please. tryin to flash cm10 or any cm lol and just incase im on the cdma ver of the galaxy tab. thanks in advace
Cwm comes with a kernel.
Why do you need to it, may I ask?
You can use cwm4, then when you flash, say cm10, you get cwm6 anyway.
So what is the goal you have in mind?

whats going on youre the one who always helps me and im very thankful for that. sorry for the crazy questions i havent been on this fourm since i got my gs2 way back when. and now i put everything into my lg optiums g. i just wanna get to the most stable build of cm9 or 10. i have energy rom right now and cwm4. just came from sock. from what i read and i could be mistaking cuz i feel like i read endless thread containing different info that i need ext4 witch i have the zip and cwm5. i try and flash cm10 cuz i know the recovery lays in the zimage but it gives me a status 7 and aborted.
Maybe people expect me to reply first.
Haha.
Well, cm install takes care of the ext4.
Yes the assert error is known.
You need to edit the updater script to remove the line.
But make sure you download cm for p1c and not other.
Please see this thread

Did you do it in 7zip? You can't extract all and rezip. Windows can't handle case sensitive filename.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21715469
It "should" has CWM 5 in it.
I am not 100% sure.

PAC man ROM

How long should it take to install the PAC man rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244963 )? I followed the steps and now I have been on the "PAC is loading screen" for a long time.
Did something go wrong?
Did you wipe everything beforehand? Did you mount system? How long is a long time?
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
I didn't mount it I think and it has been like that for couple of hours
Well you have to mount system. So there's your problem.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
its stuck on the PAC is loading screen and i have not been able to get out of it.
Hold both volume buttons and the power button.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
i hold down the button, the screen goes black but when i let go it goes back to the PAC man ROM
You have to boot back into recovery after it turns off by keeping the volume buttons down.. Another case of someone trying to brick their shiny new phone by not reading directions?

thanks man! it you really helped. btw it installation instructions said from custom rom or previous version and i didnt fit into any of those categories so it was confusing
Yeah but I've seen your other questions you've asked in here and you don't really do any searching or looking before asking so there's your problem. Happy to help but try reading up a bit more so you can get things on your own. Then if you still need help ask away.

why did he have to mount system i flashed pac man twice never mounted.
I think it might depend if you are flashing from like a stock rom or from another custom rom.
I don't know how it worked for you then if you didn't mount it.

I had the same issue and then i reflashed everething and everything works great for me now

Would manually mounting system remove the "Android is upgrading" on every bootup? That was the main reason I uninstalled Batakang in the first place.
It's still a rom built for a locked bootloader. So I doubt it. Try mounting data and system and tell me how it goes.

I'll wait for Blackest Pain to do it - I've already spent an unhealthy amount of time over the last few days tinkering with my phone
