Hi I'm having the same problem with my HTC Desire HD. I also can't connect by wifi. I spoke to HTC about the problem & they advised me to do a factory reset.... which I did but it didn't resolve the problem. Not being very technically minded I am assuming that this means it is not a software problem & the fault lies with the hardware. I'm going to take it into Tmobile for repair.

I know this is as old as the mountains, but is there still no fix for a Secured Portable wifi hotspot for the p1000? Is that why it doesn't have a stable version yet?
Everything else works great on cm10 even though some settings like WIFI Region code and Preferred Network Type has to be reset after every nightly update and Reboot.
But, it is still great.
When I try to connect to my house wifi connection I just can't.
This only happens here because in all other places where I try to connect to wifi there's no problem at all. And if I disconnect the modem and plug it in again it works just fine, but just for a day or so, than it stops again...
This is strange, but other people also had problems connecting to my network connection through tablets. It just doesn't seems to affect the computers.
Any ideas of what's going on or how to solve it?
Thanks

The only thing I can think of that it must be a router configuration problem. Do you connect your pc wireless or cable?

Things you can try is to revert your router to factory settings, check how your ip lease is set up.
If it's the router you got from your ISP, it is wise to backup the settings of the router first. So you can restore it if you can't connect to the Internet at all with any device, wireless or cable.
It might also be one or more options in the security settings.
For now it's the only info I can give you, because I have no idea how your router is configured.
I hope this helps you out a bit.

I've tried everything what I could find in the web, however nothing helped. What should I do? I'm using CM10, my router's IP is dynamic.
What should I do?
Thanks in advance

Restart router? Or maybe you have another device on fixed IP (I had similar problem with my iPad ) and router tries to assign this IP to your phone?

Rename your access point name.. I had same problem before, after change access point name in router, i can connect again..

The blame is from router. Once it happened to me. Try restart your router.
try to make it static..
I have had this problem on different ROMs occasionally.
Deleting the saved connection on your Phone, searching for the Network and typing the password again would solve my problem.
But for me the Router Restart or even WiFi off and back on (on the Router) has helped with this issue.
Tried to make it static, tried to restart my router a couple of times even tried to change the access point name in the router but nothing helped. All other android devices I have work normally..
Do you have 2 wifi networks with the same name?
Had this problem when my wifi network name at home had the same name as my gf's network at her house

EDIT:
Problem solved, updated the router's firmware
I have the same problem unfortunately, I'm on DMX 1.5 with KOB kernel, wifi worked flawlessly until yesterday, now it's stucked. I have tried roouter restarting/firmware updating, phone restarting, retype wifi password, but nothing helped. The other devices at home (android and bb) can connect though.
Try to restart your router. Commonly the blame is for router.

I reflashed the rom without wipe, it works now.

Next time turn off your router, wait few seconds and turn it on. It must work... i had the same problem few times. It is caused when your wi-fi router remmember your phone MAC address, and then, your phone is being dissconected without pressing "turn off wi-fi" on your phone. MAC address is still remmembered in your router and it wouldn't accept to remmember the same parameters from your device..

Well after a day, it does it again, I have tried to turn off the router for about 5-10 seconds, but it's the same. Maybe the problem is, the wifi router is a bit far from my room, and it disconnects wifi at a few spots, don't know how could I solve this, don't wanna reflash everyday.
Одг: Wifi stuck at "Obtaining IP adress"
How far? What is your singnal strenght?
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
The router is around 20-25meters away from my room, I usually get one or two bars (sensitivity set to -32dbm), but as I said it disconnects a few times, when I go to my terrace it always connects/disconnects in every 10 seconds. I'm planning to broadcast wifi off my computer, so it doesn't matter, I just don't know if it plays a role in this "obtaining IP address" problem, but I haven't had it before so it must be a ROM/kernel problem, I've reflashed it again with a different kernel, I'll see if it works, as it started with the using of this one (King of Birds kernel).
I have read a topic (can't find it now) that said it's a DHCP problem, and the device remembers the previously used IP's and wants to use that, and I should delete /data/misc/dhcp/dhcp-list file to get rid of this problem. However, I cannot get into "data" folder with Root Browser (with root permission of course), nor delete the file with Terminal Emulator, so I couldn't try it. Sorry if I wrote anything stupid, as I'm not into most of these technical things. Thanks for your help.
I am using original rom only rooted.
I am very happy with the stability of the connection in WiFi: no problem of loss of signal in comparison with the Galaxy Nexus.
I have not problem with simple WPA2 network, but some connection trouble with EAP: the two networks are one PEAP and MSCHAPV2 and the other TTLS and PAP.
I have configured them and they works fine for few days, then I need to delate and reconfigure the network, because the phone cannot connect to both network.
Can be a problem of certificate expiration? Any idea to solve this problem?

Hi,
I'm at a conference and I've lost wifi access from my XPZ (C6603). I'm on stock 4.2.2 build 10.3.1.A.2.67
The phone connects to the main network, but then there's no internet access. My colleague has a XPS and connects without a problem and mine was working yesterday. I have access when connecting through LTE but I'm paying roaming
Google chrome tells me error: DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE. I have tried many things already google search for the problem, restart phone several times, forget network, changes in DNS from DHC to static, ...
Any solution before trying to re-install the phone firmware?
Thanks a lot!:crying:

In the meantime, the problem solved by itself. When I returned to the hotel I had no problem in connecting to the hotel's wifi and then the next day I could connect at the conference site.
So it seems that some how the problem is in between the phone and the router that gets stuck to an IP address and the solution passes trough either connecting to a different hotspot or reseting the routers.

As it turns out for my situation is that the hospital has been having Internet issues. Perhaps all they need to do is reset the router. Considering I'm hooked up to several machines, I'll continue to use my mobile data.
