I'll tell you my own way, since I hate long-pressing on the Data toggle:
I already use SwipePad (free > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.conduction.swipepad.android#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwibW9iaS5jb25kdWN0aW9uLnN3aXBlcGFkLmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..),
so I put on it also a shortcut to this 2/3g switcher (29kb only!), (free > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.softxperience.android.switchnetworktype&hl=en, and put it off from the notification drawer (settings/applications/ select 2/3g switcher, disable notification).
Hopefully this helps :good:

Xperia Z Launcher for ICS/JB

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102397
Found this the other day and thought I'd share it here. I'm currently using it on stock 4.1.2 (de-odexed) with no problems. IMO it's much smoother than any previous Xperia-based launchers.
All credit goes to ThilinaC for his amazing work!

It works fine for me. Although when I first flashed it I did have to reboot once or twice to get some of the widgets to work.
Might have to give this a shot

I flash it, it works ok, but the Theme function isn't work well.
some apps are missing, I have tried to clear data in app settings but no luck. I would have to constantly change between different views, like most recent or alphabetical, to find the apps. Anyone know how to fix it?

I used Titanium Backup to uninstall the sony apps.
You don't need to uninstall to switch launchers... settings > apps > all apps > home.apk(?) > clear defaults.

Try flashing the HDPI app drawer fix, and then clear the app data for Xperia Home.

That fix worked, I thought I had a different issue so I ignored that part when I was searching for it. Thanks

Req Info: mod or widget to quickly disable data mobile network

Ok, so on my Rezound, HTC kindly included a widget and a quick setting to just turn off mobile network. While off, I can still make and receive calls, send and receive SMS (not MMS) texts, and save a lot of battery use. Is there an equivalent from Motorola or 3rd party (no ads please!) For the Droid 4?

As I understand it, everything on Droid 4 requires data connectivity to function.

False.
Or maybe "True" depending on how you define "everything".
With mobile network data off, phone calls still work, SMS text still works.
Sometimes we need to slow battery drain and it just means turning the smart phone into a dumb one
To be clear, I'm looking for a one button non-ad sponsored widget that will conveniently do the equivalent of a "system settings", then "data usage" and then "mobile data off/on".

Then install AdFree, so you don't have to mess with ads at all
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigtincan.adfree
Data ON-OFF should do the trick without ads. But I highly recommend adfree app too for general purposes
Just use Power Toggles. It has the Mobile Data on/off toggle. It works with my Droid 4 just fine:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&hl=en
I'm too using power toggles. It's very good.

I really like UCCW but I uninstalled it because it consumes too much mobile data and I don't have an unlimited internet plan. I remember when it consumed 50mb in 2 days when I didn't have any weather option enable, just clock

Really? Never occurred to me though. What consumes a lot of data is the XDA app as I always look into the homescreen thread. Lots of pics, lots of data used.

Have no idea, I did not use weather and localization too.
This is my data usage for one day. Uccw didn't used up much data at all. This was taken with auto-location and weather update set at 1 hour intervals. See screenshots attached.

Reliable Notifications for Non-Samsung Devices

I've finally figured a way to get good looking functional notifications for the Gear using a Moto X.
1. Install NotiSync on both devices. Set your phone as primary and Gear as secondary
2. Install NotifierPro Free on your Gear. Enable notification accessibility in Gear settings.
3. Make sure NotiSync is checked off in NotifierPro Settings.
4. Set up custom profiles on NotiSync on your phone for all apps you want notifications sent to the gear.
5. NotifierPro Free, set position below status bar and make sure wake on notification is on.
This has worked very well for me. It presents a drop down translucent banner for my notifications and seems to be very reliable.
Setup:
NotiSync -> Phone
NotiSync + NotifierPro Free -> Gear
Tell NotifierPro to show NotiSync notifications.

How To Remove Brightness Slider from Notification Window
Like many others I really dislike all the wasted space on the stock Samsung notification panel. While I haven't found a way to remove the buttons, I did find a way to remove the brightness slider.
Download and install Lux Light - After enabling it, Lux Light will replace the system brightness slider in the notification panel with its own.
Enter the Lux Light settings and disable the persistent notification. - Under Advanced, uncheck Persistent notification.
Enjoy.
