[Q] Camera autofocus issue? - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

the camera's autofocus doesn't work in taking pictures nor in capturing videos, any idea how to solve it? perhaps a firmware camera update or something?

Try resetting the Camera app's settings... Perhaps you disabled it....
A factory reset can also fix your problem.. If you have the time to do it
BTW which firmware or ROM are you using?

Make sure the lens glass is clean too.

i noticed it too.. it is not focusing automatically..
it focus when you hit the square or when hitting the camera shot icon..
from one object to another, it will not autofocus,,
unlike other camera from other phones.. it adjust when you switch to a next object..

btw are you experiencing this?

Thanks for answering,
yes sadly that's it, and i even wished if the video did auto-focus too, and has no option of doing so
something like this , a phone with AF not working,
youtube.com/watch?v=G2ihfPu8EA4
and same phone type, with AF working,
youtube.com/watch?v=tIO2VI6F_3I
:-s

Um, no I'm not experiencing any of this.. Could be because of many reason...
1. Mine was the Poland firmware, where this issue wasn't there..
2. When I bought this phone, JetMod was out - so I started using it, so I used the stock firmware for a few days only..
3. I'm using Jellybean now - and so far there are no issues with the camera app too..
If possible try a third party app like Camera ICS or any other app . if that too doesn't work then it might be a hardware problem.. Who knows?
Or if you are not concerned about your warranty - then upgrade to JB.. See whether the problem gets solved or not....

Thanks!, but if i were to send it to Samsung service center would they upgrade it to JB for me?

Nope.
For our country has not released any updates to Jelly Bean, so service center will not update your phone until the Samsung is not release an update for Romania.

Agreed...
Flash any recent JB firmware (don't flash the Chinese one)..... And see whether things change or not...
If everything goes well then Root and install CoCore E kernel and enjoy your New Phone

GT-S5570i - Wifi problem!!

Hy, i have a Galaxy Next Plus(it's a tim-italian version of pop plus) and everything was fine since i flashed some custom roms.
The problem is that i can't connect to wifi...no no. I CAN connect(it says connected) BUT there is no internet acces.
I mention that when i bought the phone wifi works but after roms flashing it does not. Now i am using stock rom 2.3.6 with px-kernel 2.6.35.7
What i should do to fix it?
P.S.:i tried reset, data wipe restart, battery pull, dial *#*#526 or something... etc and i still can not acces internet with wifi connection (i can use hsdpa)
maybe the problem is in hardware...
Have you flashed the stock firmware along with the stock kernel?

So is any solution for me to make wi-fi work on this ROM??

Pinch to zoom for images not working properly on jb

Ponch to zoom on images is not working properly on jb. Whenever I try to zom any particular image it just slides to the next image.
However, if I put my two finger on the screen for about 2 seconds and then do the gesture to enlarge the image it works.
Does anyone else facing the similar problem?
It is very irritating. Everything was perfect on gb before. These bug are on jb only.

well, I gave up JB. I tried all settings, tweaks, etc.. And any combination of ROM and ROM + kernel.
As always, many of these attempts was satisfied
But then happen the famous ... JELLY BEAN BUGS.
My last attempt was THUNDERZAP + STOCK ROM ...
uow ... Wonderful ... Until I was sending and receiving multiple messages ...
They again .. The Jelly bean bugs ... FC in message app.
They appear as ghosts ... There are invisible until you are faced with them. (Poor devs, will have work)
Result: I went GB and everything works again. No ghosts or bugs.
Hoping now that Samsung makes available a ROM without surprises you never know when it will appear.

[Q] Xperia V - SOD, software or hardware?

Hi,
do we know if the SOD problems are software or hardware related? ( Was gonna link to the SOD thread at Sony, but cant because of few posts. But google "Xperia V random freeze in standby" and your there..)
I am about to send my phone in for service, but since this will propably take a couple of weeks im hoping a software fix would be released.

So you had SOD, set min cpu and it helped?
Which firmware version?
How frequent was the SOD?
How long without?
I use the latest JB rom. I got 1~2 SoD per day before minimal CPU setting change. Now it stands well for more than two days without SoD. The Wifi is on. Maybe my good luck but worth trying.

Wifi of is not an option. Like a sportscar without an engine, but nice to get solid indications that WiFi actual is the problem. Seems like it would be fixable by software then, if only Sony care to take action.
Hmmm... a SoD again. :crying:

From my experience using Xperia V Stock ROM Singapore FTF Jelly Bean for 3 weeks, I must say that it is the best ROM I ever used for my Xperia V. Better than my stock ROM Malaysia ICS version. Give it a try and feel it.

This thread is about the SOD( "Sleep of Death") problems that some users have experienced on their Xperia V.
With the purpose of figuring out if this is a hardware( need to get phone replaced) or software( can be fixed by update).
So if you never had any issues with the SOD on your phone, on either ICS or JB, the information about which rom you think is the best do not help with the question asked in this thread. Please read before posting...

I just give my opinion. If this method helped other users fixing their SOD, who knows. I suggested to my friend that have SOD problem (Stock ICS Malaysia) to flash his Xperia V with Stock ROM Singapore, and he has no problem with SOD until now (a week of usage).

Have you tried a factory reset? When I had this issue on my Xperia TL, (before I rooted it and installed XperimenT) I uninstalled a ton of apps and disabled the ATT apps. It was doing the SOD every night. I would go through any recent apps you've installed and delete/disable them. If that doesn't work do a factory reset and _slowly_ reinstall apps. I think this is a case where something is interfering with Sony's stock firmware.
for those still having SOD, maybe u can try this. not sure it helps or not. because before i install jellybean, i review the code in build.prop first. so that is why it didnt happen on me for 2 weeks. well, i test it out yesterday.
use either ES file explorer or Root explorer, go to system -> build.prop.
find this line dalvik.vm.heapsize=36m, put a # in front of it to disable this code.
it could be because there is another similar code, thus conflict. u can find another similar line at the bottom of build.prop.
hope it helps!

[Q] Did 4.3 totally destroy my camera?

What the he.. is wrong with the camera on my Sony Xperia Z?
Any picture take with the flash is ugly, grainy and way too bright and bland. Pictures taken without the flash are just ugly and grainy. It doesn't really seem to matter what setting I use or if I use Superior Auto or not.
Did Sony just totally mess up 4.3? Looking at older pictures, they seem fine to me.
Some current photos can be seen here in my G+ post.
