Internal storage partitioned - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to fix the partitioning on my P1000?
http://i.imgur.com/Rc0eV0n.png
Somehow I have partitioned the internal storage of my P1000 and one partition (the primary) is almost always at capacity. Can I fix this? Happy to format the entire device if needs be.
Appreciate help.
Cheers

[Q] What did Clockworkmod repartitioning actually accomplish?

I thought I was at least a little savvy about this stuff but I'm feeling a bit noobish. I have a SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 running Cognition 3.04 with the default Cog kernel and modem. This evening I was messing around with Clockworkmod and did the "Partition SD Card" option (512M ext, 32M swap) thinking this was going to partition my external (4 gig) sdcard. Instead, it appears that CWM actually partitioned the internal (16 gig) sdcard. Best I can tell it created a root partition using ext3 or similar fs and then formatted the remainder of the card as vfat. So, this leaves me with two questions?
1. What is the value of this? Obviously I'm not gaining any storage just by splitting up the internal card, and I would assume the downside is this limits the amount of apps I can install to the space on the root partition?
2) What's the easiest way to get back to single partition? I have CWM and TBU backups prior to formatting and run linux on my home desktop.
Thanks.
bump.. anyone?
I believe this is if you wanted to have APPS2SD if your internal ROM is full for apps. This way you could install apps on your internal SD card by fooling the OS into thinking the ext partition on your sd card part of your ROM.
At least this is what formatting the SD card with an ext partition was for on my previous android.
Ive personally never used APPS2SD because it just seemed more trouble if anything but this is an option for those who fill up the 2GB of ROM space that i believe android alots.
Hopefully that helped you out.

[Q] Storage on Nook Color running honeycomb

Hi Everyone,
I was able to successfully install honeycomb on my NC and it runs surprisingly well. My only problem is that when I check the available storage the internal memory only shows .92GB of total memory, is this normal? This was only my second attemp at rooting an android device so it is very possible that I may have missed something in the process but I thought I was pretty thorough. Can someone tell me how much internal memory should be available after a fresh install of honeycomb on the NC? Also if I have done something wrong can someone point me int he direction or correcting my mistake? I'm guessing I need to reformat, repartition the internal SD card and reinstall honeycomb. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm running the deeper blue V4 honeycomb rom Using Clockwork mod 3.0.0.5 from SD card.
I am having the same problem. I used a 16GB SD card. After writing image to it, it shows on my computer as 109MB free of 115MB. I plug it into my NOOK. Under Storage SD card, it shows total space of 1.25GB and available space of 1.14GB. This is without the market installed.

Thank you. So that means doesn't matter how big the SD card is, the size is determined by /data and can't be changed because of the build?
The fix to this is in the HC SD card thread. Take the care out, plug it back into the PC you wrote it from, and run EASUS partition manager to extend partition 4 (data) to fill the remainder of the SD card. my 8 GB card wound up with ~6GB data partition

Thank you for your pointer. I did a search and lots thread came up but I still couldn't find what I am looking for. Could you by any chance post the link pleeeeeeease? THANK YOU!
Google partition-tool.xxx and download the home edition.
I had it run on XP and worked very well.
I think there might be some confusion here, at least on my part. The fix you suggested seems to be for fixing the partitions on an external SD card. I am running HC off of the internal memory and have this problem. I can use the NookColorUMS app and mount the data partition so that it shows up in disk management in windows but I am unable to manipulate the partition so I cannot edit it. I also have a partition called "Media" which is 5GB. It seems that I need to move those 5 GB over to the data partition but I cannot figure out how to accomplish this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
same here
I have the exact same problem
I was able to use the procedures in this conversation
[HOW-TO] Repartitioning the NC back to 1GB/data, 5GB/media
to repartition and reformat my internal drive, although I did end up reloading Honeycomb at the same time, even though it said that it wouldn't affect the OS. Noobie that I am, I affected the OS :-(

[Q] i897 Partition / Unpartition sd card

First off I have a Galaxy S Captivate and I'm a noob when it comes to the mods on this phone. It is rooted. I bought a 32gb sd card and wanted to partition into two partitions. I did some searching and found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543985. It worked great, but it didn't modify the ext sd card. It partitioned the internal card instead. Now instead of seeing the 16gb internal I'm seeing 13gb.
Question is, is there an easy way to 'undo' this without loosing everything and actually partition the external card?
Thanks in advance,
~jesse
The internal /sdcard partition should only have around 13gb. The entire phone has 16gb this includes all the system partitions and a 2gb partition in /data for user apps.
Okay so it repartitioned the internal storage. Is there a way to point it to the external to partition it? I'm wanting to move the apps to the sd to free up space. Sorry for the dumb questions...
You can't install an app in an external sd.
You can move apps from /data/app, which has the 2gb capacity, to a folder in /sdcard with native froyo software.
Settings>applications> manage applications>"the app you want"> move to sd.

[Q] [SOLVED] [Xperia V] Only 3.7 GB available from 8GB internal SD Card

Anyone used the V to backup and restore using CWM 6.0.1.2.
When doing mine, it reduced my internal memory to 3.7 GB rather than keeping it at 8GB.
Any ideas how ti get it back to the correct size?
Regards
Does anyone know how to completely delete partitions on the internal SD using adb or something?
I just want the full amount of memory to be visible again
Cheers
My internal storage got corrupted some time ago, wiping internal sdcard in recovery did solve my problem..
Why would you like to do it in adb?
I used CWM to create a backup, when it was 'freeing up space' it resized my internal SD card to 3.71 GB (used to be 8GB).
Ive tried a format in recovery already, but the size does not change, i want to know if there is a way to look at / manage the internal SD card partitions to see what CWM has done, and then format or restore it from there.
Cheers
.. Ok so u can't fill up your internal sdcard above 3.7gb right?
idk much about partitions..
But what if u mount the internal storage as MSC mode (instead of MTP?)
Correct, the internal card is just not showing the right available space.
I have not found a way to mount the internal SD card as MSC yet, been looking, so i could possibly then use mini partition tool on it.
I remember Doomload had a way for the Xperia S, could check to see if it works for the V.
i´m not sure but i have read somewhere that only 3,7 Gb is user available
http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=1398673
that´s in swedish can be difficult to understand but there is stated about it, i dunno if it is correct
Hmmm, i actually never noticed that, could be right all along then.. thanks for that, ill have a scout round to confirm if thats the case. Seems strange, why would 4GB be required on an SD card. Either way, at least i know it's ok now, haha.
Regards
[EDIT]
Confirmed, 3.7 available

Divide SD card between external and adopted storage

I have a stock Moto X4 and am running out of internal storage space (32gb). Is there a way to partition my 128gb SD card into 64gb external storage and 64gb adopted storage? Ive used minitool partition to divide the card into two partitions but my phone only sees the "external" FAT32 card and not the ext2 or ext4 partition on the card. I found a thread on reddit using adb but that didnt work either.
Any suggestions????
Thanks for the help and guidance
Are you encrypted? I seem to remember that you had to be unencrypted due to an issue with FBE..... Probably wrong though...
no. Nothing is encrypted. I know that once a card is designated as adopted it gets encrypted though.
