[Q] Root/bootloader problem - LG Optimus 2x

Hello,
I tried to root my P990 with option 3 from All-In-One Toolkit. All went well until it asked me to change to a new ICS bootloader. I choose the second option ICS-cwm-6.0.2.5.img. It went well until it wanted to send ics-bootloader.bin to the phone. It got stuck at 655360/891024 bytes sent. Now my phone won't start. What should I do?

Use AIO P990 TOOL that is in the Android Develpment, there is an option to change to GB/ICS layout , try it, and you will have your phone running again!

I tried it but I still get errors. I tried all 3 options from the ICS layout. I even tried the GB versions.
I also forgot to mention that I have android 4.0(V30b).

But how can I install a official stock firmware? I cannot open my phone. I can only enter in APX mode.
EDIT:
I managed to complete the layout change, but the phone still doesn't turn on. I tried to reinstall the stock rom with SmartFlash but it gave me an error at some point.

search for a KDZ GB file if you changed to the OLD Layout, then use AIO to restore the KDZ and follow all the instruction, then you will have your phone with the stock rom

I have the new layout. I tried to restore the KDZ with the off-line LG tool but it kept saying that to connect the phone to the computer. I also tried with the SmartFlash tool but it kept timing out.
EDIT:
I did it. Thanks for the help.

Help downgrading LG Optimus 2X

Ok. So I have 4.0.4 official LG rom. I have tried to root the phone... it shows superuser but when i try to get into recovery mode is not working, it shows an android and a bar that is loading but does not get into recovery mode. Now I am trying to downgrade to 2.3.4 but when I try doing that in software update KDZ it saying phone not found. I am doing it this way: pluging in the phone into the PC without the battery and pressing vol down so it gets into update mode, disabled modem in manage got windows enabler... but nothing WHAT CAN I DO?
Hello,
I had the same problem and I solved it using the AIO toolkit -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
You have to revert your partition system to the old one in order to get back to GB/CMxx from ICS
Don't forget the thank meter
Thanks! Problem solved. Got me 4.2.2 CM10

Hi! I have the same problem and I am quite a noob. Can you please explain more detailed? Did you use one of the listed features? I would be really grateful for your help

Need help unbricking phone.

I tried to install the new official ICS rom. First I tried installing it through LG Flash Tool. Wouldn't work. I then tried installing through the official updater. It got about halfway through and then said it had trouble communicating with my phone and to reset and try it again. So I did that. Same thing happens.
Now my phone doesn't boot up at all. As soon as I put the battery in it goes into emergency mode.
I turned on logs in LG Flash tool and I keep getting this.
<REFLASH><UNIT><ESN>IMEINOTACTIVE</ESN><TIMESTAMP>20130328160731</TIMESTAMP><RESULT>FAIL</RESULT><SOFTWARE_NAME>LG FlashTool</SOFTWARE_NAME><SOFTWARE_VER>1.1</SOFTWARE_VER><OEM_NAME>LG</OEM_NAME></UNIT></REFLASH>

I was able to bring my back from total no boot condition.
I chose option 2. Make sure you follow the steps so that it show up under device before you run Smartflash
You can also try start LG flashtool then run omap.

If it pass 80% you can try to see if it boot up. If it does do a reset.
I would also try LG Flashtool with a GB bin then ICS once GB is working again.
Try the P920 dll and V28b from this thread with smartflash.

[SOLVED][ERROR] Device stuck on boot! Error: Boot Image Signature

Guys,
I'm relatively new to flashing recovery and ROMs..
So, sorry if this is a noob question..
I really need urgent help!
I am on V20a (ESA-XXX) and have successfully rooted my phone.
I tried installing CWM using this method..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180138
I used the unsecure boot provided by gordon0001

After i restarted my phone, it got stuck at boot!!
Its gives the following error and turns of in 5 seconds..
[LG-Security] Error: Boot Image Signature!
The phone doesn't start and does not go into recovery either..
The phone is not even recognised by my PC.. keeps restarting (to error screen) if i connect to pc..

PLEASE HELP!!
SOLUTION:
Reflash .kdz via Software Upgrade Mode (hold Power button and Volume - )
Dude, reflashing your phone should work. As long as SW mode is still accessible, your phone isn't dead yet. Follow the instructions on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35971349 Be freaking sure all necessary drivers are properly installed.
Or you can put your phone in recovery mode (power + vol +) and reinstall the stock rom using recovery LG tools providing your Internet connection is fast and stable
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
hey dude, i have flashed 7 times exactly since this morning only. and i have gotten that error 3 times of those 7. so it should not be a problem
Thanks!
After a few attempts, was able to go to the s/w upgrade mode.. (power + vol(-) )
Reflashed .kdz and it's all good.. (had to root again)
Actually, i was freaked out more coz it's my new phone and i didn't find others with the problem..
I hope that this thread would help if anyone faces a similar problem in the future..
Thanks for the prompt response, guys!

You needed to unlock bootloader first, either "adb reboot oem-unlock" or download terminal emulator, root the phone and type:
su
echo 40000000c8 > /sys/firmware/fuse/odm_reserved
Sent from my rooted P880
I solved the problem flashing back to stock rom.
From this page http://lg-phone-firmware.com/ you may download your original stock rom.
WARNING: IF YOU FLASHED YOUR PHONE WITH A CUSTOM ROM, NEVER TRY TO FLASH BACK TO AN ORIGINAL STOCK ROM.

And once again:
flashing stock is not at all dangerous. it will not brick your device or something else.
Sometimes you even have to re-stock your phone.
Stock is safe!

Bootloader unlocking is only available if you're on JB. If your boot image is faulty you need to revert back to official JB.

German here too
So if I understood you right, you tried to install CWM without unlocking your boot loader? So now you got a boot image error? I'd suggest to try LG Mobile Support Tool and flash V20A/V20B and then unlock Boot loader. Even if you're on "official JB" as of now, installing CWM without unlocked bootloader screwed your boot image and there's no way to do anything without flashing back a kdz.

[Q] Bricked? S/W upgrading please wait.....

I gave my phone to my son, cause i got a new one. he decided to put it back on stock firmware and now its saying: S/W upgrading please wait while upgrading.
I was running on TonyP JB without problems. Idid a recovery to ics with the ICS-cwm-6.0.2.5. This was also running fine.
My son tried to update to stock firmware with the official lg update tool and emergency repair. Now its stuck on the updating screen.
I tried to reinstall the new bootloader --> succeeded
Install the recovery (ICS-cwm-6.0.2.5) --> succeeded
above 2 things were done with the AIO toolkit v5
When i put the device on the same message appears?
Anyone a solution?
Thanks in advance

Also tried smartflashing with v30a, no result.
I can install the new bootloader an the ics partitition size.
I also tried a full restore ROM and Data (Kernel, System, Data), no result

Looks like you are on old bootloader but not completed the full flashing....
I think it is better to do a nvflash .....download the nvflash tool AIOT or progmaq nvflash tool....
Be aware that you will loose all the personal data.
I got the software upgrade screen once on stock unrooted Froyo. But that was due to my pressing the Volume key (I don't remember which one-most probably Volume Up) simultaneously when pressing the Power On key at start up. Are you doing anything similar.
Got the phone reset!!!
Used option 4 in the AIO toolkit and chose the for option 4. After this i flashed to new bootloader, and used option 1 in the tool to recover all.

[Q] Phone stuck on boot animation

Okay, so basically my LG Optimus 4X is stuck on the boot logo. I've tried many things (pulling the battery, factory reset via recovery, and LG support tool which wouldn't connect) but nothing seems to work. My phone is currently rooted and recently had CWM but I restored my phone and got rid of it. I don't know what to do so any help would be appreciated.
P.S. My phone software is p88020c ame-xxx

By experience I know that the sequence to install CM10, starting from vanilla phone, is:
make sure you have a suitable version of firmware, I used V20 EUR open (can provide more details if needed, but most times you can skip this step)
root phone (I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688)
unlock bootloader with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1906064&d=1366744634
flash recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-p880.img to /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (some usable instructions here)
put CM10 on the device and install it through clockworkmod
Instructions are very confusionary around, thus I am providing you a list of the steps
