This is usually caused by having the minimum processor speed set too slow...
The recommendation is to make sure your minimum processor speed is set to 384...

The diplay goes off and for a minimum time the phone is hanging.
My whatsapp news was blinking led an i have see 30 sek later it was out.
I think its a bug tahts not normaly in minimum processor speed has worked now.

Battery question.

Does the screen really eat up that much battery? I do keep my screen on a lot from texting to social networks. Would a deferent kernel possible ease the screen usage or is that how much power the screen consumes with a pretty good amount of usage?

Yes ,
I turn auto off and run it about a 1/3 of the way and in the dark I turn it even Lower sometimes and the batt seems ok ,
If I was constantly doing stuff on the phone at that rate I get a good 3-3 1/2 hr and Im talking actually sitting with the phone on and doing constant stuff for that long .
Thanks for asking - I find that my display battery usage is just as high!
I'll have to try the auto off. Auto dim doesn't seem to work that good. I guess ill experiment after work with a different kernel and see if its any better this morning. Thanks for confirming

OK I fixed it lol. I tried the new Pegasus rom with the stockish kernel. Amazing! I recommend it.

Yea, I'm getting like 14-17 hours off of one charge. On De-Sensed it was like 8 hours.

Definitely getting great battery on the Pegasus ROM. I've found turning off you data when not using it effectively doubles my battery life. But then again I'm in an LTE area so that burns it up like you wouldn't believe when it's on and being used.

I don't have lte in my area. I'm going on 1 day and 1 hour with this rom. VERY pleased!

I get this problem too sometimes...maybe every other week? I read somewhere to pull the battery and then hold the power button for ten seconds with battery pulled then to put battery back in and power it on...always seemed to fix it for me

I alway try to restart the phone. But this is not the solution. We need to find the proper solution to resolve this issue

Agreed we need a proper solution...but I also think I read somewhere that it was a 4.0.3 bug...could be wrong but if that's the case then it would need some major software modification or (unlikely but preferably) an update to 4.0.4 from HTC...

From HTC Care

Hello Friends... I saw many people having this problem with their phones... The problem was battery charging stuck when it reaches x% (x might be 85 or 87 or 90 whatever mine is 87%). I tried bump charging, tried to calibrate battery several times, etc etc but nothing works... So i decided to take help of HTC Care and i get back to stock and i take my phone to htc... they registered my complaint... The Engineer named this problem as Battery Not Charging Physically... They kept my phone for a week.. after 2-3 days a call came from HTC to tell exact repairing amount of phone... According to HTC Engineers the problem is with motherboard and it costs 8590 INR... So i didn't repaired my phone...So there is no worth to repair phone...and say Bye bye to Green LED... lolzz... If any one solved this problem on there own then plz share ua exp so others can solved them too... Thank You..

Have you tried with another battery? Because they have a chip that prevents overcharge. Maybe this has a defect.

In addition to the issue you mentioned about battery not charging beyond a certain percentage, did the battery also drain faster?
I have the x% issue and the battery drains fast adding to the woes

Possible fix for unresponsive capacitive buttons?

Seems to me this is really working, could you please try and post in here how's it working? Also mention your fw revision.

For the lazy, it's as simple as disabling vibration in sound>vibration on touch.

not working for me
I've had 'vibration on touch' turned off since day 1 and my buttons are still problematic
I've had vibration disabled since day 1 and still had problems.
After the latest update (1.29.401.12) I have not experienced any issues with the capacitive buttons. It's much more responsive.

I have had problems with the capacitive buttons until I installed a custom Rom with the .13 base.
Much much better. I honestly dont have issues anymore. Before it would happen all too frequently.
I am with Rogers in Canada and I can't be bothered to wait for them to push an update.

I have had the vibrate off since day one and I still have problems. I'm unlocked with root on stock rom so hopefully AT&T can get the update out. Sounds like it's a software issue.

You are mean't to turn it on, click your button and go back and turn it off (the vibration), then it should be fine after that (until a reboot). It's worked for me.
That pic is extremely clear. I'm using a RAZR and get nothing like that. Nice
