Custom ROM Help

Hello,
I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction regarding my options for a custom rom.
I upgraded and lost my root and I am now at: 4.1.2
Can someone please tell me how to or link me how to get a new rom so my wired tethering works again.

I just installed the liquidsmooth rom from the developers forum here. Very nice rom and Ive tried them all. Ive never used wired tether but it is included and does work.

Oops, saw that you lost root. Well I rooted through Ubuntu, there is a very straightforward video on youtube how to do this. Or there is a thread at droidrzr dot com that walks you through rooting stock JB but I cant comment of it working or not since I used the Ubuntu method

Okay so can you link me to the thread for the installation of the LiquidSmooth ROM & I'll go ahead and make a new partition, Install ubuntu and root.

I cant post a link (less than 10 posts) but just go to youtube and look for rooting bionic 4.1.2. Its the first result. Its very straightforward. I have never used Ubuntu before. I installed it on a USB stick, ran through the video, and 10min later I had root.
After that installed safestrap 3.11. Then download the liquidsmooth rom here from the development forum, install on partition 3, good to go.

(PS: I love how when people actually try to help other users they can't post links, sigh)

This is what I get when I press "Connect" after entering all of the information under the "Add Storage" on my phone.
"There is a problem in your network connection with remote host. Please repair your network connection and try again"
I have confirmed the computer and phone are on the same WiFi network and I have disabled 4G/3G on my phone. I also have tried restarting both devices, and starting the process over again.
I have tried wired / plugged in and the phone in "Media Device" mode and I have also tried unplugged.
Yes I have USB debugging enabled.
Any suggestions?

sorry friend that wont work properly if you want to relock bootloader i am also in search of 2.24.707.3 for CID__038 but unable to find it. I hope someone can help us both.
it may be asking too much but any great soul with super cid can flash CID__038 ruu update to 4.2.2 and upload it here but i know thats a hell lot to ask for

hey use this link to download stock software. Only difference being you have a GSM model and its a backup of GSM+LTE model. you can use it om your phone with custom recovery without any hassel just do not relock bootloader or else phone wont boot up until you unlock bootloader again
and when you find 2.24.707.3 share it with me and we both can restore back to stock

It should work but if not then you can try that other one you've linked to (which is the same version I linked to)

I solved the installation issue.

This S5 rom it's fantastic and now my battery has rebirth!!!

No, it doesn't... I installed only the rom file and it has already the Gapps. You need only to update them from play store.

For me it just stuck after instalation, after boot when i select any language it show 'process stopped' error and nothing afterward....

It shows error formating /preload! Does it effect?

I flashed this ROM just now and the first thing I notice is Arabic is not supported in keyboard ! I hope that you make a patch. Thank you for the efforts.

short battery life
I flashed this ROM yesterday and after 1 day of use I removed it due to short battery life , the official jelly bean 4.1.2 stock rom is better in battery life.

Hey guys,
You can fix the video playback issue by going to Developer Options and scroll down to Media.
Then select Use NuPlayer.
A quick test on my recorded videos seems to be working. No more black screen

Anyone with hardware home button not waking device and functioning properly can go to /system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl and edit
key 102 MOVE_HOME
to
key 102 HOME
just remove the MOVE_ and reboot everything work perfect now

i flashed this rom dirictly on my old rom its slim rom 4.4.4 40141202 and the homkey worked for me and back key -menu key
but after flash mix lp rom setup aborted

While using CWM i get a status 7 error. And with TWRP i get an "assert failed: write_raw_image" error. Can anyone help me out with this???

Search for "Error 7" and you will find the solution. You use an old Recovery. Need an update.

just sticck folow INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS(VERY IMPORTANT)-
- Download the latest build
- Download Gapps
- Flash any CM11 based ROM(not sure if its necesarry)
- Flash Raw v7 kernel
- USE TWRP 2.7.1.0 and up ONLY
-Reboot recovery
- Recommended - Full wipe and factory reset
- Flash ROM (you may get an error saying device or rescource busy.Ignore this.your rom has flashed)
- Flash Gapps
- Flash kernel again
- Reboot.
- Enjoy!

Hi, do anyone know how to edit the power_profile.xml in framework-res.apk in /system/framework/ for this rom?
I tried decompile with apktool but to no avail, its giving error not able to read the apk
I wan to edit the battery capacity in the power_profile since I have change my stock battery to a bigger capacity one

Even after rooting my k3 note all thanks to kangel bro, but still VPN is not working in my k3. Plz any expert help me find a way to make VPN work in my phone. Currently only problem I am facing in k3 is 4g LTE not working ( has K3's FDD bands are supported with carrier) and all VPNs available on google are not working. Plz will any new ROM for k3 will resolve my problem

Hi! This tutorial is too simple, only few actions

The method is fine for the firs stock ROM I had. After rooting and upgrading to VIBEUI_V2.5_1519_7.113.1_DEV_K50-T5_WC72 I lost root and the method doesn't work any more.

Bro still after adding this Rom and after rooting my phone again but still i am facing the same problem VPN and 4G Lte both are still not working in my phone. Ok H+ network is enough for me But Vpn is a must for me, Plz is their any Rom or a way to Fix my VPN problems in my K3

Hi, I am using this tool but for the last part I can not find the mentioned .zip file anywhere, that SuperUser must have created.
There is not SU or SuperUser folder on the phone anywhere, and also no files can be found in the common folders like 'downloads' etc.
What am I doing wrong?... Where can I find this file???

I did not manage to restart in recovery mode with 3 button combination,
that is why i did it with
adb reboor recovery
command.

Ok dude. There is a tool made by the master @xancin automatically installs CarlivTouch recovery.
Instructions and more information can be found here. if you do not mind using a translator. regards

Lenovo K3 Note problem
Hi,pls help!
I rooted my Lenovo K3 Note as described...Uninstaled Chainise apps. Then phone constantly chrashed and apps icon in settings desapeared.
I flashed it then and instaled new rom but it is older version of Vibe Ui and it sais it is Beta,it is not a multilanguage version. I lost recovery too now it does not support install zip from sd card.
How can i get CWM Recovery back and get a original multilanguage Vibe UI?
