Guys
Im trying to install the EU 1.29.401.2_R from htcdev.com
But how do I flash it as a ROM? Its not a zip and when I uncompress it there is still no zip
Please help
ermm are you trying to flash kernel source code as a rom?? I would advise to stop doing this right away if I was you.
The RUU is an exe which is not out yet for anything but the developer edition of this phone.

Hi ive been reading reports that an official ICS has been released for the XL in the UK,
What i was wondering is if I have installed a custom ROM how do I go about getting this, do i need to find the original Gingerbread ROM then upgrade through official channels?
If so does anyone know where I can find a copy of the ROM?

Why even do you need it when you can flash whatever you want?
And if you wait a little, with that official update there will be more stable ICS roms. I hope even with sense 4. So you don't need all the headache with relocking etc

1) download the correct RUU for your device
2) Relock bootloader (fastboot oem lock)
3) when device boot back into fastboot and displays the "security warning" notice, run the RUU.
4) once completed boot into android and check for updates
Can someone talented enough make a Zip file rom for us to flash that will allow us to go back to stock non rooted 4.2? I have searched everywhere and cant find one.
Details, and what I mean by this is the ability to allow us to simply flash this in CMW or TWRP recovery and not lock the bootloader but just unroot us with stock image.

I got an htc one m7 silver and got problem.
I've install custom cwm recovery, and a custom rom. No problems, until i cant sim unlock my htc. My code provider said me i must to return on a stock rom but i do not find all i need to do this (radio, kernel, firmware, rom) i dont know what files i need to download...
Please can you help me?

am looking for RUU for desire 510 64 bit Telstra_WWE 1.50.841.2, i;ve downloaded the file from HTC, but apparently that was the source code, since the mobile is locked to telstra and S-ON, i am comfortable to have the stock rom to get everything working.
Additional questions/requests (thanks heaps for answers/solutions)
1. am travelling soon, is there anyway to Unlock the SIM for this mobile ?
2. since HTC already publishing codes, why don't they provide RUU in exe format ?
3. i've downloaded RUU for EU (RUU_A11_UL_K443_DESIRE_SENSE60_HTC_Europe_1.51.401.1_Radio_01.02.012_U10251_39.08.40922_release_398419_signed) provided by some other thread, gave me unknown Error 155
4. is there any tutorial to get an understanding on how android firmware work ? am always confused between kernel, recovery, userdata, boot, etc..
5. is there any tutorial where i can start learning how to build an image out of a code ? was it for HTC or AOSP ?

Those are not rom's their source code their not meant to be flashed.
If you want stock Roms / RUU their here > http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
