[Q] Desire 64 RUU Telstra_WWE 1.50.841.2 - HTC Desire 510

G'Day mates !
am looking for RUU for desire 510 64 bit Telstra_WWE 1.50.841.2, i;ve downloaded the file from HTC, but apparently that was the source code, since the mobile is locked to telstra and S-ON, i am comfortable to have the stock rom to get everything working.
Additional questions/requests (thanks heaps for answers/solutions)
1. am travelling soon, is there anyway to Unlock the SIM for this mobile ?
2. since HTC already publishing codes, why don't they provide RUU in exe format ?
3. i've downloaded RUU for EU (RUU_A11_UL_K443_DESIRE_SENSE60_HTC_Europe_1.51.401.1_Radio_01.02.012_U10251_39.08.40922_release_398419_signed) provided by some other thread, gave me unknown Error 155
4. is there any tutorial to get an understanding on how android firmware work ? am always confused between kernel, recovery, userdata, boot, etc..
5. is there any tutorial where i can start learning how to build an image out of a code ? was it for HTC or AOSP ?
Cheers

[Q] HTC Raider on Bell - Need Stock Firmware to Restore

Does anyone have an HTC Raider 4G LTE on Bell and can provide me with a Stock Firmware? I tried a custom rom and stupid me, didn't back up my stock one .
I really need to get back to a Stock rom as it seems the custom one on this site is Korean
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
you mean like the ones posted here on XDA?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338919
Thanks Pirateghost - I've tried the on with BM in the name as I'm guessing that's for Bell Mobility. I am getting an error 155 when trying to run the flash.
My Raider has CWM installed on it and a rooted mod. I've booted using the Power-VolDown button and put it into FastLoad. It seems to reboot when the update starts but then just sits at the HTC logo and the flash tool errors out with 155.
Any ideas?
I'm trying to extract the rom.zip from the EXE using Process Monitor. When I find the rom.zip, it seems to be corrupt. Can you confirm that the there is correct?
I was able to finally extra the rom.zip from the BM RUU and everything flashes except for the system image . It says data length is too large.
So I'm kinda stuck right now with this other ROM.
If anyone knows of another source for an HTC Holiday/Raider 4G on Bell (BM), please let me know!
Thanks
OEM LOCK the device BEFORE running the RUU upgrade!!!
Figured it out!!!
You need to re-lock the bootloader before the RUU will actually succeed!
fastboot oem lock
As I'm not cool enough to post in the Development section, can someone post an update to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351717 and let the person know there who is having the same problem I am that he/she needs to re-lock the bootloader before they can apply the RUU? [email protected]!!!

If you look at htcdev.com at the first step it says "If you do not find your ROM version in the table below, and your ROM version is newer, then your device does not require the RUU. Please bypass these steps and continue to the next page." Actually is no RUU for Desire C. So I don't know if you downloaded a RUU and installed it, but that should be the problem if you did, you just need to click on that green words "continue to the next page". My phone was rooted yesterday and it works great and I needed to unlock the bootloader too. And I made it too.

Thank you very much for your answer.
The RUU needs locked bootloader in order to work.
Try relocking it.

[Q] Help me Flash my HTC ONE with Stock ROM or JB Upadted ROM !!!

Hi Members of XDA...
This is my 1st post here...
I have tried my best to find it what i want..but its too complicated to see different methods and opinions..
Ok the story goes like this ... >
Bought HTC-ONE... liked Amazing Device..
Rooted the device with TWRP...successfully... But when the Jelly Bean update was released i was stuck because after downloading the 400 MB file, the phone would just restart and will go to the TWRP which gives me nothing when trying to update the JB file.
Also FYI, i have unrooted or relocked the device again for the updating process..
Ok first of all i am new to Android world... Dont know much of the technical terms... but less than a few.
So my questions are :-
1- How can i find my phones Model ID / MID or CID / Cidnum ID ??
2- How can i identify what set or version of ROM package is compatible for my HTC-ONE ???
3- Whats this RADIO ?
4- Whats S-On and S-Off... [Just read its Security on and off]. But should i need it ?
5- Whats this Odexed and De-Odexed ? And what my HTC-ONE has currently as stock ROM odexed or de-odexed ?
6-Will i get an .exe JB update for my HTC-ONE after identifying what version of ROMs i need ?
7-Where can i download the Revolution HD ROM ???
7-Finally , How can i flash any ROM to my HTC-ONE... with out hassle... [tried with HTC Tool Kits Update RUU option, but shows error cant load "xxxxx" ]
I know its a lot of questions.......... But Please Help Me ..
Waiting for all your experts replies ....
First time Android user myself, been reading for the last week and I've learned quite a bit though. All info can be found in XDA forums if you use search feature.
1- How can i find my phones Model ID / MID or CID / Cidnum ID ??
download Android SDK (adb/fastboot) and with the device connected in fastboot mode, type fastboot getvar all. It will tell you the versions of everything.
2- How can i identify what set or version of ROM package is compatible for my HTC-ONE ???
All ROM's say which device they are compatible with. I think all except for Sprint (in USA) are the same. The best way would be to use the HTC ONE _carrier_ forum and click on Android Development under there
3- Whats this RADIO ?
RADIO is the Antennae firmware used by your device for wifi/bluetooth/signal
4- Whats S-On and S-Off... [Just read its Security on and off]. But should i need it ?
Dont worry about this, this is one step further than ROOT. It grants you access to even more things like changing your CID/Model number so you get OTA updates designed for another carrier.
5- Whats this Odexed and De-Odexed ? And what my HTC-ONE has currently as stock ROM odexed or de-odexed ?
I forgot exactly what it was, I found the explanation in google.com basically deodexed lets you install some things odexed does not use google for this.
6-Will i get an .exe JB update for my HTC-ONE after identifying what version of ROMs i need ?
7-Where can i download the Revolution HD ROM ???
There are two versions, one based on Sense 5 and one on Google Edition:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356654
step by step instructions can be found there, that is how I learned myself.
7-Finally , How can i flash any ROM to my HTC-ONE... with out hassle... [tried with HTC Tool Kits Update RUU option, but shows error cant load "xxxxx" ]
follow the steps posted on the ROM thread of your choice. I've read some ROMs require two steps (one flash ROM one flash boot image) but ARHD 12.2 does not, it is easy to install. There is a video in youtube that shows some guy installing ARHD 12.0 which is the same process.
Thanks to the above replier, you got thr answers you need, but most people wouldn't be bothered to answer so many questions. You need to search for these answers - it doesn't matter how new you are. This is my first HTC, that makes me new to most of the above questions. However I know all the answers due to common sense!

radio problem
So i did all the steps to unlock my htc one m8, and I made a mistake flashing a radio which didn't belong to my device, now I'm constantly rebooting, and can't seem to find the stock radio that I'm supposed to use.
Unfortunately I made the big mistake to not backup my stock radio.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be gladly appreciated I'm willing to give a small donation as well thanks in advance.
My stock CiD was 654 now I'm super cid if that help
Your best bet would be to RUU at this point. If your device is S-off, you can install modified firmware without having to run a RUU. Check out OMJ's RUU/firmware thread located in the development forum.
Also, you cannot make a backup of your radio.
no need to backup your stock radio, just extract it from an ruu.
fixed!
i just flashed a firmware via hboot and got my radio back.
Now i have sucessfully completed all the steps to sim unlock it and did get ''you device is sucessfully unlock'' but still says invalid sim card any ideas?
Install an old 4.4.3 version of viper and try unlocking again

[Q] which Firmware should be Flashed on Sprint 831 C ? Confused !!

Dear All,
Pl. somebody may guide me as to which Firmware shall be the correct one, to Flash with the details of my Handset as below:-
1) Sprint 831 C - M8_WHL PVT SHIP - S- OFF,
2) CID - 11111111
3) HBOOT - 3.16.0.0000
4) Radio : 1.00.20.0120.
Further, Since the device came to me in the S-OFF and SuperSU installed on it (Rooted), I managed to install twrp-2.7.0.2-m8.img, for which now I have backed up my complete system, and have nandroid backup for it.
Now, I am curious to install other custom rom as well, my earlier readings / understandings here & after googleling, warns me to do it untill I have the Firm ware updated.
My queries,
1) Should I download the RUU 1.5 GB 1) http://www.pocketables.com/2015/02/sprint-htc-one-m8-lollipop-via-otaruu.html or form here http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-sprint/news/ and follow the instructions thereby.
2) May I at the liberty to install the Android Revolution HD ROM on HTC One M8 , available here : http://www.droidviews.com/install-android-revolution-hd-rom-on-htc-one-m8/
3) Will I loose, my S-OFF, Sim Unlock in doing above mentioned acts.
The snapshot of my device in bootloader mode is attached for your quick guidance.
Pl. help understand the above. Thank you all in advance.
Best Regards
Karan.
You can use the HK firmware from HTC USA website also. In fact I urge you to do this if you wish to use any Lollipop based ROM else you may face WiFi issues etc. It won't affect your S-off or anything. You can unlock your Bootloader also, in fact you should in my opinion.
I am using my 831c with ViperOneM8 4.3.0 which is reasonably stable to use as a daily driver.
I am using this with Reliance CDMA; no issues to report. You can find my guide to get rid of the annoying activation nag pop up. I'm traveling otherwise I'd link it here.
Edit: For CDMA in India or to get rid of activation pop-up, see here: http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/3...-on-htc-one-m8-hk-non-hk-edition-from-sprint/

Dear Sir,
First of all thank you so much for addressing so soon !! I appreciate that though travelling you took the courtesy for it.
Well, my device is GSM its not CDMA, Sir, my query is related to Firmware, can I use this file : 0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_4.25.651.14_RUU.zip - hooked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173, if your answer is assertive I would go ahead with flashing in SD CARD, hope its not in contradiction with my HBOOT Version. Regarding unlocking Bootloader , Sir its already unlocked, do I need to do it again ?
Moreover, I would love to install the rom ViperOneM8 4.3.0, suggested by you as well.
Thank You once again.

Hi Karan,
Your Bootloader isn't UNLOCKED. Your device is S-OFF but at least your Bootloader screenshot shows that your bootloader is still LOCKED. Could be an HBOOT trick, I don't know.
Well, you may be using your device as GSM only but be assured that it can also be used for CDMA if you want (INR 824 for unlimited calling, text and 3G is an amazing deal with Reliance CDMA.. LOL) but let's get back to your question.
I'd recommend flashing either of the two firmware files listed below. Since your phone has a SuperCID, you can even convert it to the Harman Kardon Edition (I don't know how much better/ worse it is honestly):
1. Harman Kardon Edition ROM: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-harman-kardon-edition-sprint/news/
2. Non-Harman Kardon Edition ROM: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-sprint/news/
They have the same fixes, etc., as far as I know. The Harman ROM has some audio enhancements that you may or may not need.
And yes, finally to answer your primary question, you can use the firmware that you have mentioned as well, I think it corresponds to the no. 2 link that I have posted.
You will need to remove some files to get rid of the activation nagger though. It keeps popping up "Hands Free Activation" and that is very annoying!
Good luck!

Hello sir,
Now, today I tried couple of things as below: -
As advised by you, firstly I attempted to unlock the Bootloader by using the Hasoon's AIO 2014 Toolkit, I booted in fastboot USB, even successfully got the Token Identifier submitted on HTC Dev however when tried to submit the bin file the command prompt window say error no device found. ( Pl. guide as what is going wrong , this process was repeated twice by me - NO Success found) .
Secondly, downloaded one of the files we discussed yesterday, the files i.e 0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_4.25.651.14_RUU.zip, renamed to 0P6BIMG, kept in SD card (8 GB / EXFAT formatted), to which the device started scanning as soon as I attempted to enter the Bootloader mode (i.e Vol Dn + Pw), while scanning it says No Image / Wrong Image/ ( Pain full).
Finally, I also had a downloaded file of (Android_Revolution_HD-One_M8_41.0_866186), stated to be a Kitkat 4.4.2 rom, now assuming that I have already unlocked bootloader, I performed Install after wipe / Delvick Cache/Data/System, it went through whole installing however after coming on 100/- without my giving the command of reboot the device get's power offed. Thenafter performing the Vol Dn +Pw also it didn't responded , then tried Vol UP+Pw, which gave me the option to into recovery mode (TWRP ver 2.7.0.2) where I had the Backedup file, which was restored and that is how I saved my life.
Now, what is really going wrong not able to sum it up, even trying to unlock BLDR, does'nt help, request you intervention / help Sir.

You have TWRP it means your bootloader is already unlocked. You can go ahead and flash viper rom. even if you relocked because you have s-off you can flash anything.
To flash the zip, you can try directly from cmd by going to bootloader and type:
1 - "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
2 - "fastboot flash zip pathto.....zip"
This will format the internal memory 25GB and remove TWRP and return everything to stock.(if its the 1.5GB zip) You will not lose s-off.
Note: ARHD may not work on Sprint M8
Dear Sir,
Thanks for replying. Just to share I attempted to update the H/K 1.5 GB RUU stock file and got the success, however lost my SuperSU app, also root has gone as tried by installing rootchecker, which didn't gave the positive result.
Now my query is, that will I have to follow all the process of unlockng the btldr from HTC Dev, installing TWRP latest one, will I loose the S-off , Sim unlock etc... I am looking to install a ROM which has the Stock FM app in it, may I request you to suggest if any that shall work flawlessly in India.

If you install any custom sense ROM like viper or badboy, it will be rooted.
As for stock FM, it should be included in custom sense ROMs.
You will not lose simlock or soff by doing anything mentioned.
However some people(including me) get simlocked randomly, if it happens to you, you can do twrp backup, follow instructions to simunlock then restore backup again no matter what rom you were using.
