Hello: )
I have just a question. Can somebody tell me how to port a rom, what program I need and how to change a kernel?
Thanks for you answer!
1. pleas change the title, please
2. in the treads of every kernel should be a description, additionally, Galaxy tuner and kernel flasher ( afair that's what it's called) have the capability of flashing a zImage (the kernel) at runtime.
what exactly do you want to Port? Anyway, Darkyy started a thread on how to create an odin rom in the developer section, you could take a look at that
Edit:
was to slow considering the title^^

I wan`t to port htc sense 2.1
please can someone tell me the best custom kernel for the note that has continues support, and please post a download link. cos I tried downloading nx kernel and the files were not available. thanks
Best kernel threads are like best rom threads because like best rom threads there is no "best" kernel it is all a matter of what you are looking for in a kernel and on XDA we do not permit these of threads.

First of all, wrong section mate. Always post such questions in the Q/A section. I completely agree with @baran0119 on using Battery Extender kernel. But let me tell you one thing beforehand nothing can beat the stability and battery backup of the stock kernel. Then again if you want to enable other features like init.d, governors, etc you can for stock based custom kernels for stock roms. Hope I Helped
P.S. Reported to FM to move to right section.
The question probably doesn't belong here but unfortunately I couldn't find what I wanted to know elsewhere. I've seen that there is a CM port kernel in the kernel list but what does a CM port kernel actually do? Can you install Cyanogenmod ROM with it? Sorry for the basic question but it would very nice if somebody could help me out here!
The kernal fixes some problems in the Roms is what I read? I'm not sure if you can install it with or without it.
You can use the kernel, if you have installed the T700 cm-11.0 build from eousphoros:

Thanks guys!
So I need to flash the ROM first and then the Kernel?
Yes. You will also need to root again the rom isn't rooted.

Hello... Check development and original development forum for kernel threads. You can flash most of them I guess over any ROM unless specified by the OP.
Some also provide different kernels for different Android versions.
Ex: 6.x, 7.x, 7.1.x
Read the first posts of these threads or use the search function and simply download the proper version for your ROM/Android version.
Some offer some extra features, but overall you can tweak most of them as you want with a kernel manager app: kernel adiutor, Ex kernel manager, etc...
Good luck...
