Hello,
I just removed my screen protector on the back of my Xperia Z (the original one) and i cant get the glue off. I have tried hot water, antibac with q-tips, but it still wont come off. Does anyone know how i can get it off?
Thanks

Wash your phone under a tap and and scrub. If that doesn't work use a cotton bud with spirit or alcohol.
Press thanks if I helped.

use nail polish remover, its very easy with this!
I used it to clean my display after removing the AS-Film.

Hi friends, I bought black Xperia Z recently and I am loving it
I have lil doubts
1) I dont like cases. So anyone have faced any scratches on lens when case was not using and was kept on flat surfaces?
2) Does removing of flaps for charging everyday affects water resistance property?
3) Does the phone gets scratches when case was not used when you take it out of jeans every time?
Any help is appreciated
Thank You

Have been using it for like 4 months plus and no scratches on the lens. I didn't use any casing though. But at the top side corner of the phone just beside the headphone flap, the rubber thingy came off a bit when I dropped it once. And removing of flaps a lot will make the flap loose. Mine wouldn't close properly now. Many suggests to use a dock for charging.

My main concern is results after frequent putting in and taking out of the jeans pocket.. I noticed some hairline scratches on screen but I do have screen guard on it.. It means body can also get scratched where the body is exposed and not covered by screen guard.
Any recommendations on cases? Normal case or flip case? I know it depends on person to person. Just wanna know what ppl normally use with xz

Just fix the screen guards that are provided in the box..cases are just failsafes if u drop ur phone accidentally..even if any scratches occur,u can always change the screenguard later and the frequent removal of flaps doesn't affect the water resistance much, just don't forget to close the flaps after using them..just don't drop ur xz..enjoy

I've been with a friend in a aquapark and made photos, videos etc with our Xperias(Z).
My Z performed well and everything was okey, but my friends Z began with trouble.
His front and rear camera were white.
He left the phone with the flaps open all the night and it performed well, the camera were ok so the device.
After a week his power button 'died' and he could wake the phone with volume up button, weird.
I told him to put it in rice and wait to be fixed. He left it so 5days and now there is like a splash of water on the screen not moving.?
He has no warranty but the phones strips are white.
Do you have any suggestions?
C6603 ?
refresh: Power button is fixed but the water splash under the screen remains.
C6603 ?
May you Send some pics of it? Then I'll look at it.
Or Would be even better if you make a video while pressing softly on it.

Here they are:

more
C6603 ?
Seems not so good.
Does it move while pressing?(Even a bit should be good)
And Does it just see so that he doesn't have the Anti-Shutter protection? Because if it's missing water-resistance can be "damaged".
And after a week, there shouldn't be any water inside.

I bet the water got in because the condensation.
It has the antishatter protection.
The water doesn't move..
I put it again in rice and will hold longer this time

What if the water is in between the antishatter film and the screen?
It would be squezed out I think...
C6603 ?
Maybe remove the front glass and clean it if there is no other solutions.

This was my first idea too, but I don't think so. And then it Would be movable. The film is relative hard to remove, so water shouldn't come in.
I think it's between Glass and LCD unit.

the glass and the lcd are also glued together
Then it will be really hard the water to get out.
Before I put it in rice the first time I didn't have this problem with the screen 'splash'
I hope the rice will pull it out.

Guys i hv experienced 1 strange problem... My xperia sp camera gets blur or oiled something on lens and it cant remove with all types of cleaning process...
Actually it starts from a story:-
Me and my friend "techkeeda" have the same xperia sp.. Around 2 months ago his camera get blur and when i compared it ith my new sp, mine was super clear... So we decided to get fixed from service center.... But some how with tight schedule we couldn't go to service center.... but what i got!!! with the passage of time my friend's xsp camera get cleared and mine was get dirt and blur same like my friend's xsp...
I dont know from when that problem gets started and how long it continues... 3 days ago we both installed ExistenZ rom and then checked both cameras... After installing that rom camera gives better outputs but mine jst blur blur blur.....
Anyone have any solution of this problem?? Plz share

Even my lens has no scratches but still... ;(

Ensure there's no layers of "protective frames" on top of the camera
Catching my breath, letting it go, turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Jst checked... But there is no protection kind of thing over there.... Even during ensuring the protective layer got scratch on glass with my nails
But doesnt matter my older phone has so many scratches but camera works jst fine...

Hey problem solved... Cleaned the lens with my mom's nail paint remover with hard rubbing.... Still some parts here and there are blur but i'll clean it out... Thanx to all......

bro, what kind of scratches? does the scratches are over the glass covering the lens? how do you fix it?
i have the same problem today, i get blurry pictures because of the scratches all over the glass covering the lens.
is there any problem to fix this? or we don't have the same problem?
If the glas is scratched go to a local store and ask them if it possible to replace it. (It should be possible).
But try to clean it first
Bro the glass of lens still have many scratches but not deep scratches... I think i didnt use camera from around 1 month (as camera was jst the name sake) so may be the dirt get sticked over it... But after existenz rom camera jst gone to the next level so i need itto be cleared and finally i apply nail polish remover with cotton and rub it with hard hands then cleaned it with new cotton and applied 1 tip or cold cream ( i use to apply clod creame on dvd and cd when they got many scratches and it worked ) then cleaned it with very soft puece of cloth... And here it is my camera...

thanks for the information bro. but im afraid that if i put any solution to the camera like what you have used (nail polish remover and cold cream), i think that some of the solution might enter the camera and can seriously damage it.
I think the glass is sealed pack... Otherwise dust could also come inside glass... Keeping this thing in mind i took that step... Actually i was afraid too...

just finished installing the screen protector but i got a little worried because a little bit of the gel fell on the earpiece and i wanted to ask if could it damage the phone ore will it just dry off without affecting the hardware?
Anybody?
Shouldn't effect it. Can you hear calls out of it?

I left it all night to dry and the speaker is fine i just didn't know if the gel was safe or not
You should avoid eating the gel.
Make sure you use the microfiber cloth to catch any gel & prevent it from seeping into that area.
When I did mine, I focused on every other part of the screen first, making sure I squeegeed all liquid out the left, right and bottom sides of the protector. I did the top part you're mentioning last.
By then, it was much easier to divert all gel in that location down and away from the earpiece hole + its much safer this way and will ensure no accidents occur
Does anyone have this problem? My Xperia SP, when you looked in a room with lots of light (or in an outdoor environment) it is possible to realize a lot of sand between the touch screen and the LCD panel.
Not to mention my touchscreen, which displays a little "loose" the arc of the phone.
Someone managed to solve it? I've been thinking about dropping my touchscreen without removing your phone (with all care of the world, go through a credit card around the edges to loosen the glue) and then clean the LCD screen and the touchscreen using a soft brush, removing any sand present in that place. Is this a good idea?
Thanks in advance..
I saw a teardown of the phone and the lcd is not glued to the touchscreen this device is really easy to teardown but you won't get further then removing the back cover because of the side screws

I can partially remove the touchscreen without disassembly the phone? Without removing any connector, just to clean the screen.. can i do this?
You have to completely disassemble the phone to separate the digitaliser and the LCD as with most phones manufacturers tend to start with the screen and build up from there is RMA an option because that's the sort of thing covered by warranty

Is really easier? More than disassemble a Xperia Play?
@zenug I have never tried the play but from looking at photos I would say the SP is easier. It's not a difficult phone to disassemble nothing like as hard as certain fruit based phones. Just make sure you go slow there's nothing more frustrating than waiting for a new ribbon to arrive because you damaged one. There are videos on youtube of the teardown. One last thing vv important if it is sand or dust in between the LCD and digitaliser use a can of compressed air to blow it away sand will scratch the glass and ruin the LCD. Fingerprints and smears from cloths are almost impossible to remove. Think fitting a screen protector but cleaner, much cleaner. Try and avoid touching or wiping either surface if possible.

Well, I've cleaned the screen using my ninja technique (passing a card around the screen edges to loosen the glue, I used a brush to clean properly) and not to the problem appears again, I used a kind of "glue" to stick the edges and prevent the entry of dust on the screen. I do not think that is a definite "fix", because it is a McGyver technique that should be resolved by Sony.
sorry for my bad english
Even i have got the same prob
If i take it to service centre(phone still in warranty)
Will i be charged?

No you will not be charged its a hardware failure and make sure they reseal the screen not just clean it or the dust will get back in
