I thought the default camera app adds lat/lon to exif since 1.5, if not there is always snap photo...
Default doesn't, so probably go with SnapPhoto.
You can also geotag photos taken with a DSLR/digicam by installing Google My Tracks on the phone. Before you begin taking photos, you need to do two things: 1) Make sure your camera and phone clocks are synchronized (within 1 minute would be good). I suggest syncing the camera to the phone, as the phone gets highly accurate time from the GSM network. 2) Start My Tracks and begin recording your GPS position. Now just keep your phone on you as you take pictures. When you are done taking photos stop the GPS recording, choose the Save to SD option and export the track as a GPX file. On your computer, install a geotagging application like GeoSetter or Gpicsync. In the app, specify the folders containing your photos and GPX files. Then all you need to do is click the sync or apply button and the app will automatically look for GPX files with similar timestamp ranges and apply the geotag data to your pictures.

If you want to support OpenStreetMap.org and similar types of activities geotagged photos of street signs and photos in general are useful for the OpenStreetView project...
If you are wanting a gallery app that is smooth as homemade vanilla ice cream and as fast as a Shelby Cobra, give this one a shot. Free @ the app market. You won't be disappointed!
It mops the floor with the stock Android gallery or any other gallery that I have tried.

This app is awesome... the only one i have used so far that doesnt distort the image. Thanks!

I've been using Quickpic on my DX for some time now. It is my go to image app. Loads so much quicker than gallery. Good call!

Just do a search on the market for Quick Pic. You'll find it. The link you supplied takes me to a redirect back tomy isp's search page @ Roadrunner.com

Just found this today. Much faster than the stock gallery, and for some reason lately my stock gallery doesn't load all my images :/
I have one question though, can we install this and delete the stock gallery? Will that interfere with anything? Cuz I don't use the stock camera or gallery. Camera360 and QuickPic are what i'm using for my photos.
camera360 (found on Amazon, not Android market) and QuickPic are both nice finds, thanks!
Pretty darn quick. I like it! Thanks for posting.
Anyone knows if you can stream pics from your CIFS/NTFS shared folder on your home server?
I've been using Quick Pic on my phone for a while now. And it's just as great on the tablet.
Hi, can QuickPic totally replace the Gallery?
I don't understand how more people are not frustrated by the fact that picture can't be renamed after taking a shot..?
I would like to be able to rename the pictures as soon sa I take them, and from stock camera I can see the picture taken, but I can't rename it. Can QuickPic be accessed from camera (review of pic - right bottom corner)?
Thanks, Cheers,
Nenad

I do know that after installing QuickPic, I went into File Explorer and navigated to my DCIM folder where my pics are stored and clicked on a .jpg file, then the box popped up asking me which app I wanted to open the file in, Gallery or QuickPic. I set the check mark to "Always use this selection" and then tapped on QuickPic and made it the default .jpg viewer. You will need to do this for each graphics format type; .png, .tif, etc.
I do not know about the camera preview because I am running CM7 at the moment on my tablet. Anyone whom has used CM7 knows the downfall of the camera quality and I try to steer clear of even using the camera with this rom.
You can do as I have stated above, setting the file associations, and see what your camera app uses for the preview when you take a pic with your tablet. Then report back to us and let us know if this, in fact, does actually replace the default preview app for photos from the camera app.
[EDIT] I have just confirmed that if you install QuickPic, when you take a shot with your camera app and tap on the preview selection, it does give you the option of setting QuickPic as the default preview app from the camera.
Nope.
I made a QuickPic a default app to preview Jpegs (and other formats), but the problem is stil there:
From Camera app, when I hit a "image viewer" button, it opens a Galery-like 1 picture screen (on back, the Camera app is shown for taking more pictures).
Is there a way to tweak Android to use QuickPic instead (like "Registry" in Win?)
Cheers
Loving this app
Great app, I've been using it for a while. Was really happy when I found it, the stock Gallery appy is garbage compared to this app.
The pics and icons load right away, instead of sitting there waiting for no reason.

I was using Serendipity 6.3 and now Darky 10.1 rom, and I never got the option to choose - it always shows the preview in stock gallery... Can I remove the it (the stock gallery)?
BTW - I just left a "review" at "App Brain":
The best gallery app (IMHO)! Let me put out the facts others didn't: I just love the "rename" option - one can take a look at the picture, and directly rename it if you want (when the picture is in full screen. It would be nice though if one could do the same from a thumbnail preview - with a long press menu - the option lacks there...). One more minor issue makes me have another picture viewer installed: - if you open a hidden (.name) picture from a folder that has more then one hidden pics, it will show this one, but will not show any oteher by sliding, as would for non-hidden pics. It would be nice to have an option "show/ hidden files", and if the option is on, it would show all the hidden pics, and if it is off, it would show none. If this issue was not present, I would have had just QuickPic installed of all the pic viewers! Once again - thanks for the best gallery app - please make it even better!
Anyone having issues with date sorting? Looking at the details of each photo, the date is right but QuickPic seems to put them in a different order

Trying to upload a single picture or a 3 second zoe or a 30 sec zoe video? A 3 second Zoe takes around 20 pics I think, maybe just use one of those pics to upload.

I've got auto sync and it's uploading 20 pics and a video.
Same here into Google +
Not found a way to solve this yet...
It's not a problem it's just how the zoe feature works. It takes 20 images together with the video which is how you are able to do all the cool zoe tricks. Because you have 20 new images on your phone they get automatically uploaded to Dropbox.
How else would you like it to work? Do you want dropbox to just randomly select a picture or only the first one when one of the others might be better?
I do get why people are a bit bothered because you end up with a lot of uploaded pictures but I can't see how else it can be done given how zoes work.

Zoe combined with the gallery and video highlights takes a bit of getting used to.
When browsing events in the gallery, they are automatically created based on an algorithm of when and where the pictures were taken. Each event is automatically labelled by date and if GPS is functional (outdoors) then the location too (see below how it's possible to split and merge events).
The most important thing to notice is that when browsing an event, the first page (showing a video highlight and 4 stills/Zoes) is a SUMMARY of the whole event. The stills/Zoes shown on this page are actually DUPLICATES from within the event itself, and if you scroll down you will see them repeated in the list on pages 2+. If you delete what look like duplicate stills/Zoes, they will disappear from both the summary and the list and are unrecoverable.
As mentioned in this thread, taking Zoes fills up the DCIM folder with many jpgs and mp4s (21 per shot - 20 stills and 1 video), and at first I was very concerned about how I would manage this flood of files. The first thing I did was to turn off Dropbox "auto upload from camera".
I have discovered the option to split and merge existing events in the gallery (by pressing and holding the event image in the list view). Selecting "Split to" allows individual pictures and Zoes to be moved from the \DCIM\100MEDIA folder to a new named folder under \Pictures. This allows specific shots to be isolated, although for Zoes all 21 files per shot are still moved.
When viewing a Zoe, it is possible to select a frame from the 20 available and save it as a separate still, and this will be added to the current event (the file is saved in the \DCIM\100MEDIA with the same file root as the original - e.g. IMAG0021_ZOE006.jpg would result in the saved file IMAG0021_ZOESHOT006_1.jpg).
When viewing an event in the Gallery, it's not easy to differentiate between Zoes and stills (whether taken with the camera or saved as a frame from a Zoe), unless you can see the Zoe moving.
It's not possible to manage the picture files or videos from the Gallery apart from using the Split and Merge functions. It would be an improvement if all Zoes were stored in a holding/temporary location, and specific stills or videos could then be selected for copying to a named event, which would not copy all the other files from each Zoe - leaving them in the temporary location.
Hi guys! I have made a improvement suggestion to HTC regarding Zoe please support it cause I have posted it on facebook of http://facebook.com/htcuk and http://facebook.com/HTC

I have not got my new one so this is based on my experience with Droid DNA. It seems to me that dropbox only instantly upload pictures in the folder DCIM. Therefore when I get my new one, I plan to create a folder, maybe called Zoe or Temp, outside of DCIM. After finish taking Zoe, I will manually move Zoe files into the Temp folder outside DCIM. I know this is still tedious, but I will try it before hTC comes up with a decent solution.

Oh! I have not read your reply before my previous posting. So, if dropbox will not upload pictures under the folder /picture, we can use split to move Zoe into /picture, preventing Zoe being uploaded to dropbox. Is that correct? Thanks!

I wish Screen-Shots (vol- and power for 2-seconds, both together, at the exact same time) were uploaded to DropBox/G+ and Zoe's were not!
I can't believe HTC even included DropBox on the phone... didn't they test and realize this would be a major problem.

you have to move every zoe to a new folder through the gallery. you cant do it through a computer. if you do then the zoe doesnt work properly anymore. it becomes 1 video and 20 separate pictures. also, if you delete one of those 20 pictures through a file browser the zoe disappears from the gallery.

Hopefully someone will make an app for that (or HTC will fix it). What are the steps to manually move the Zoe?
Hi everyone,
I juste realized that mess up Zoe/DropBox when unlocking bootloader... it erased all data (that i thought been saved on dropbox).
I could restore all parameters, apps, but no datas like .doc / .xls / .pdf.
Dropbox had saved every pics and vids, and would like to restore them in HTC One, but I discovered that Zoe shots were a ****ing mess !!
A way to restore manually what HTC Album do manage very well by itself (events / extracts from Zoe shots, pics and vids...) ?
You know what, I uploaded back all datas of Dropbox onto my HTC ONE and even if each Zoe shot is split to several pics, there is not a video resuming the shot in addition...
Please HTC, find us a way to recover these Zoe shots !

I always wished Dropbox would allow you to sync only pictures WITHOUT videos.
I've turned dropbox sync off now. It was a complete mess after recording a few Zoe Movies.

It should work if you restore all 20 pics plus the vid to the correct folders (is that correct, or is there also some data file I don't know about?)
1) We need to make the camera app store Zoe's in a different folder.
2) We need to make the gallery app play Zoe's from that new folder.
3) You need to be able to easily save any Zoe frame to a picture under the DCIM
EXTRA) I want the saved ScreenShots (Power, Vol-) under the DCIM folder too! Maybe just a dynamic link from /DCIM/Screenshots to /Screenshots?
And i realized something new, the Zoe shots are "renamed" in Dropbox, with a syntax identifying date and clock... No more Zoe label within file name...
One more difficulty to recover Zoe shots...

The way I work around this is I use an app call folder sync. The full version allows for name exceptions. So I have it exclude anything that contains the name zoe. Folder sync connects to drop box, Google drive, samba, etc.

Howdy,
Lately I've been saving a number of pictures from Internet Explorer and Whatsup, and once I got to Photos|Saved pictures, I saw many saved photos aren't there. Curious, I've plugged the phone to the PC and browsed to SD Card\Pictures\Saved Pictures and... all of the saved pictures were there in the Saved picture, they just didn't appear in the Photos app.
What could be the issue? Could that be traced anyhow? Pretty itching issue.
Luxon
PS.: I've been experiencing an issue like that when I've had reading failures after I turned on Full File System Access once on my Samsung ATIV S. But then I had issues with Photos app closing every now and then after it was launched. I don't experience such issues now, Photos app and other apps like Camera don't close on starting.
Hmm... are they all image formats that the Pictures app recognizes? IE supports a lot of image formats (SVG, for example) that are not officially supported image formats on the phone.
When you save a picture in IE, it gets shown fullscreen and there's a message at the top, even when it says finished, it only saves the picture when you wait for it to disappear, clicking back will cancel it.
