need help using android recovery system 3e
its a stock recovery for android.. i'm also having the same problem...need to update the system files due to im stuck in skyworth logo..haist...
As far as I'm aware the only recovery that works on our device currently is CWM.
3e is the stock recovery. It will only accept files, signed by LG.
You have to unlock your bootloader and install CWM (via rommanager for easiest usage). With CWM you can flash all custom ROMs then

Hi all
i've bought a new HTC incredible s (vivo) from Canada.
i've got it with android ver 2.3.3 and 2.1 sense ver.
this is the baseband version : 20.2805.30.085AU_3805.04.03.27_M
i've checked the phone (holding volume botton down and pressing power) this is what i see:
vivo pvt ship s-off rl
hboot-1.13.0000
radio-3805.04.03.27_M
eMMc-boot
so i guess i've got S-OFF but no root.
how do i root my phone? i want to replaced it's room to CyanogenMod 7
can anyone please help me?
I think you just have to flash CWM or 4EXT recovery and flash the latest Superuser, since you're already S-OFF.
You will have got root. What happens when you boot into recovery?. If it shows the red triangle then you have a the stock recovery and you will need to change it in order to be able to install cyanogenmod.
I would just boot back up Into the rom you have now and go to 4ext.net and install the updater and then install 4ext recovery. Then go to cyanogenmod and download the rom for the incredible s and put it on your card. Go back into recovery wipe everything and install cm.

you are right, when i boot into recovery i get red triangle. i understand now that it means i have the stock recovery
i don't have root.
when i download 4ext and press install it says i dont have busybox and i need download "busybox installer" from the market. moreover it notes that i need a rooted device for this app.
what should i do?

You ClockworkMod from here:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-vivo.img
and then flash it in FASTBOOT USB mode using the command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-vivo.img
I have CWM v4 installed. How do i over-write it with 4EXT recovery? The power button is felling a little lose so i want a touch recovery.

Have you looked at the 4EXT touch recovery thread in the Development section? If you are properly rooted, 4EXT touch recovery should be able to overwrite CWM without any issues.
Yeah i downloaded the 4EXTRecovery installer and chose the option to install the recovery. I got a message after sometime saying that the recovery had been successfully installed. But on rebooting it was still CWM.
Never mind. I just had to download the recovery.img and use fastboot to flash it manually.
Hi to all.
When I was trying to restore the stock google image (Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1) from the toolkit and via fastboot,my Nexus 7 stuck at Google Logo. The toolkit write the bootloader, the recovery, etc... but not the system. I can enter in recovery by installing CWM but If I try to flash a rom,the CMW says this: E: cant mount /sdcard/
The device is unlocked.
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit with a working adb connection and fastboot.
I would try to load some other ROMS to see if the ROM that you have is corrupt.

You can extract the system.img from the factory image and flash it manually through fastboot.

Problem solved. After 4 times, finally I managed to flash all with the toolkit
Thanks anyway!

I unlocked the bootloader for Motorola XT890 and installed Jellybean ROM. I had to install CWM to get root access. After installing CWM, i am stuck in CWM recovery mode. The phone reboots into CWM recovery. Would appreciate any help as i have tried flashing ROM's but it gets aborted , exitrecovery, delete cache etc.
I have been told to delete CWM but do not know how. I cannot go into fastboot and ADB devices wont recognise the device in windows, When i try to flash ROM- it shows installation aborted
I need help to delete CWM
