[Q] Boot looping Exhibit II - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

So, I recently used an app (app2sd or link2sd or one of those kinds of apps) that swapped my internal memory with my external memory. It requested me to do a reboot, so I did. After the reboot, the phone just keeps looping through the cyanogenmod boot animation. What I think is that since my SD card doesn't have the booting files that my internal storage has, it doesn't boot (correct me if I'm wrong), since its reading the sd card as if its the internal storage and vice versa for the internal memory. Any way I could fix this? So far all I can really do on my phone is boot into recovery mode and Odin mode. I also tried to flash my SD card with Cyanogenmod, but turns out I don't have the zip for it on my internal memory (now external), and I can't access the internal memory on my computer, only the SD card (internal). Also, I've tried using adb shell, but whenever I try it always comes up with "Error: device not found" so that wont work for me. Kinda assuming I'm outa luck D:

I'm a little confused here if I got this right you used an app to SD app now your external SD is reading as your internal ? What recovery you using cwm?

Nope it soft bricked not to worry though. Your going to need an usb jig there like 5 dollars at usbjig.com once you get that reformat your sd card make sure you have usb driver and boot image and nessary files to flash to stock via odin at that point google and youtube is your best friend because i have no experince dealing with odin. The USB jig is going to force you phone into odin so you can load the nessary files to flash back to factory if done properly.

Which version of CWM are you using? If you are on 6x you can go to mounts and storage and then mount USB to copy a ROM to your phone. If you are on 5x you will have to update to 6x with Odin.
Edit: If you can't mount storage but you can get into download mode, you should follow the directions to flash to stock from here:

Download mode=Odin mode.
If you can already get into Odin by holding volume down and power then you don't need a jig.

[Q] Galaxy Note Recovery

I downloaded the latest CM10 ROM but when I was flashing it I came across an error, and now I have no other ROM on my phone so I need to transfer one from my PC, but it doesn't go past recovery mode. So i searched XDA and found an answer that said to MOUNT USB from recovery on clockwork mod, but that didn't help, my PC doesn't recognize the phone except as an unknown device, i.e i cant explore it and drivers i found on XDA didn't help to recognize the device. Please help. I have the new CM10 ROM downloaded and ready, how do I transfer it to my phone?

[Q] No root recovery aymore

Dear Forum,
I have a I9001. I've been busy with it for a week now and read and tried allot. Nothing seems to work!
So , my I9001 doesn't have a recovery any more. No root or CWM. The rom works (2.3.5) but crashes or freezes. Then tried every
combo in the book to get into the recovery mode but nothing works.
So I ask you biggest android forum of the world: What the hell is going on??
Tried to get into recovery by recovery boot by pc, tried installing other roms or kernels or whatever.
Also getting a mmc boot mbr read failed when trying above stuff by odin.
Also when I shutdown the phone and I start it up again then it has to be installed again like country and date etc etc...
Thanks in forward for answering.
Greetz,
Happybeat
But download mode still working? Then you could try to flash the recovery via Odin again or a stock Rom, AFAIK those contain the stock recovery as well so afterwards you'll have a "fresh" installed phone... Might work, no other ideas...

Ok...this is strange...I just connected it to my pc and have access to it...but when I deleted something what was in download it says delete permant I say yes...when I restart it and connect it back to the pc and go to download its back??
Sorry don't know any solution but I'm quite new in here so maybe you can post it into/revive this thread because the Q&A is (in my opinion) not well visited by I9001 users because it's meant to be for i9000.

Yep did that. Doesnt work. The thing is also that I cant change anything. Everytime when I reboot I need to install again. So it doesnt remember. Same when I connect it to the pc and I remove a file from download that I do not need it doesn't remove the file because the next time I reboot its back. It's like the internal is locked?
I can't find a good page with an explanation, so I'll just type it out myself. If anything isn't clear, ask!
You can try getting into recovery mode using the Android SDK, maybe that could work...
Install the latest version of Samsung Kies if you haven't already (for the USB driver)
Install the Android SDK (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html) You'll need just the SDK, everything else is useless for this
Open a command prompt and go to the directory where you have installed the Android SDK (basically you'll run the command cd "<folder>", where folder is something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk")
Start your phone and go to Settings > Applications > Development
Enable USB debugging (if it's not there, just find that option and enable it )
Connect your phone using a USB cable
Go back to your command prompt and run the command tools\adb reboot recovery
Hopefully your phone will boot in recovery mode
Good luck!

Ok so thank you for this but unfortunatly it just didnt work. I think it is dead. Does Jtagg do any difference? Like hook it up to that machine?
So what it does at this moment:
It starts up but everytime you start up it will ask you to install everything again. So it asks what country etc.etc...
When I am in it appears to work but starting apps just makes it all crash or freeze.
Im a bit lost at the moment to do anything. It just looks that it doesnt memorize.
I can hook it up to the pc but you cant remove or add anything. You can just look and scroll through it.

Im a knucklehead - Formatted entire SD card

all my Rom zips and backups are gone. How can I access my internal SD card to copy a ROM over to it then flash?

I used the AIO toolkit to "Flash My Own Recovery" after I downloaded CWM Touch

I am now in my phone and able to access my internal storage

Are you trying to get into recovery (Power/vol down)?? If you can't get into that you need to use fastboot (ADB) to reflash recovery so you can access your internal. I'm guessing you know how to do this since you already had it. If not, lemme know. I can try and give step by step to get it back.

[Q] How to root/unlock an HTC one without connecting to a PC

Hello, I have an HTC one M7 (cid H3G__402) with 4.4.3 and I found no way to get it to work on any pc I try to connect it to. So, of course, there's no way to unlock the bootloader, do s-off or any of those things since fastboot does not see the device. Now, I just recently read about Sunshine and since it does not require connection to a pc, it will work to unlock the bootloader and s-off. But will it actually solve my problem?
When I go into recovery mode to try to install anything it says "check cid failed". Now I'm trying to download a stock rom to flash it and see if anything changes with that but I'm not really sure recovery mode is "ready" to read anything off the phone.

The problem with fastboot could be driver related, when you connect your phone with the usb cable does your pc detect it at all? In device manger your device should be listed "MY HTC".
When connected to fastboot mode in the bootloader does the screen show fastboot usb in red?
What about mass storage are you able to copy files to the sd card normally using mass storage on your pc?
Sunshine will work to get you Unlocked rooted and s-off, but it would be fairly pointless if you can't copy any Rom to the device.
What recovery are you using? (name and version please)

Yes we known that:laugh:. When speaking about sd card here we are reffering to /sdcard which is your internal storage, not a "real" sd card. What he want to know is if your are able to copy files to your phone storage when its connected to your PC. Your phone should show in your "computer" folder like a usb stick for example.

The phone doesn't show on the computer AT ALL. Not like a usb stick, not like a "device not recognized"... nothing. Zip. Nada.
It just charges via usb and that's it.

That's my problem, really. Anything I try to do via recovery it just will say "check cid failed" and reboot the phone. Either "sd card" or "phone storage"

I also tried something like 5 or 6 usb cables that work with other phones too.

Looks like a defective usb port on your phone. Try to clean it

You can't use the stock recovery to flash anything. Th eonly thing stock recovery can flash is OTA updates.

Yeah I agree with @alray Unless you haven't yet tried a different USB cable. It's either the cable or the port on your device. Is it rooted? if it is you can use Rom Toolbox from the playstore to flash a custom recovery. I can provide a H3G Stock rom if you can get it on to the phone. But if its the port it wont fix it.
