Hi all. I was trying to install launcher on my daughter kindle. I was not able to make the launcher as a default, so I deleted the stock launcher. The kindle freeze's after like 10 min. I turned off the device, now it's stuck on splash screen. I tried to do all the steps to get into the bootloader or recovery there is no success. Any help please?

How did you delete the stock launcher? If there's any hope, do a factory reset and pray you get those files back. Otherwise, use a USB cable to boot into fastboot mode and flash 7.2.3 all over again. https://s3.amazonaws.com/kindle-fire-updates/update-kindle-7.2.3_D025_2330720.bin
Rename the file to amazon723, and use the fastboot command to flash: fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot amazon723.bin

I deleted the stock launcher using root explorer. I got it successful one time boot into recovery, I did factory reset. Now ADB is not working, also my laptop does not see that there is a device attached to the usb.
Since you did a factory reset you now need a fast boot cable..when you factory reset you get adb turned off since it is off by default...
With adb enabled you could have pushed the launcher back, but now you just need to get out into fast boot mode and restore

Hey there, I hope someone can help me find a solution. I have tried KFFirstAide and KFHD System.img Restore Tool but I am having no luck. I do not have a factory cord yet, but I am not sure that I need one. I have ordered one anyway and it should be here by the end of the week.
The FireHD 7 responds to KFHD System.img Restore Tool and KFFA both with reboot into FastBoot and reboot into normal mode, but as soon as it reboots, it will sort of flash and then displays FastBoot Kindle Fire.
Prior to this happening, The HD7 was stock, never rooted. I had only connected it to my Vista64 computer to transfer books. I was reading a book, plugged in the charger (not original, but have used for a long time), turned the HD7 off, put the HD7 down and then noticed I noticed the display came on. It had FastBoot Kindle Fire on the display. I tried restarting, but kept going back to FastBoot. I have tried holding the power button down for over 1 minute and then turning it back on. I have tried everything I can find to "reset" the HD7 normally.
I have tried to restore it with KFHD System.img Restore Tool. I have tried to restore it with KFFirstAide. Sometimes I get an error message about daemon not running when I try to use KFFirstAide. I would love it if someone could teamview with me to get it working again. This is my first experience with trying to do anything with the Android OS.

If you are using Windows, you'll need the android SDK installed. Google it and set up adb and fastboot. Once they are working, the following command should reboot it into the os:
fastboot -i 9x1949 reboot
If it stays on waiting for device, driver problem. Use stunts513's drivers.
The best way would be to boot into a linux live session, install fastboot only and use the command. The command to install fastboot is:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-fastboot
Thank You

ok I have tried using this new cable and running SRT with no luck. I am still stuck on FastBoot. It seems to work, but as soon as I do the Reboot to Normal, it goes to the Kindle Fire homescreen, then immediately goes back into FastBoot. I am going to keep trying and hopefully you or someone will see this and respond with more suggestions. Thanks for the help, much appreciated...
Help! I tried to factory reset my Kindle Fire HD 7 (2012) running CM 12.1. When I clicked factory reset the Kindle said rebooting and rebooted in TWRP's loading screen and flashes every 3 seconds or so. I tried to boot it into fast boot mode using ADB but it keeps saying device unauthorized. I don't know what to do from here now.
P.S I live in a place where it would be very hard to obtain a fastboot cable and I don't have the necessary tools to build one
Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated :good:

Ok, you likely need a fastboot cable, Can you order from Amazon or Ebay?
You try some fastboot commands without a fastboot cable, but it likely will not work
connect to PC, power off device, send command, power on.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 devices
if you get something like, this back should be good
Code:
123456789abcde.....Kindle
or
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product
if you get something like this back, should be good
Code:
product: Tate-XXX-XX (something here)
If you can get into fastboot try this.
1. Download This https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B4lZEJI5lYeMb1g5bW9tQW00LUE&export=download
2.connect kindle to pc and boot up the kindle normally
3.extract the Zip and open tha bat file
4. select option 4 It should then say waiting for device
5.open up cmd adb and type adb reboot-bootloader then it should say clearing cashe or user data then after about a min power off ur device then power it back on
6.then it should now say clearing cashe or user data On of them then after a min switch of ur device then back on and team win should load the next problem is that i cant send files through to my kindle so i cant flash anything. maybe i need newdrivers cna someone link me to one.

It probably would work because all you are doing is clearing cache. I have not tested it on a 8.9 but what im saying is it will probably work.

Thank you for all the help in advance!
Current state of device:
Fire HD 7" factory cable plugged in stuck on fastboot screen not loop just stuck no access to ADB (device not found[debian gnome])
I was deleting my previous ROM to go back to stock. I wiped my cache, os and everything then went to go and install the stock ROM and my little one managed to power the kindle down. I turned it back on to find kindlefire logo on the screen but it doesn't go past that. I built a factory cable and now it displays the fastboot logo but nothing else, not looping just frozen on the fastboot screen. So the computer [debian gnome] can't find the device when using ADB. (ADB is working with my other devices) I tried to follow a post about using the fastboot cmd to install the system.img, recovery.img and boot.img but did not know exactly what I was doing at that point. Is it done for? or is there hope?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
There is hope. You could try following the commands in the batch file from this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
I've never tried it from Linux but so long as fastboot is working you should be able to flash the 3 images and then wipe data.
Thank you sooo much! this worked like a charm. I downloaded the img files and loaded them to the kindle via fastboot then rebooted and wala back to a fully functioning kindle. Thanks for the link!!!!
Glad to hear it helped you out.
Help me please
I have bricked my device. I can no longer get it past the bootloader Amazon image and can only get it into fastboot. Had root on device and was attempting to flash twrp so that i could install some custom roms. When flashing twrp the device restarted and has been stuck in a silver amazon bootloop. With the help of root junky's supertool i can get into factory recovery. but cannot sidload origional system back. I was gonna go back origional and re root. But can not get it out of bootloop. Tried using the system recovery thread found in second post on this thread and recieved an unsuccessful. Am i done for.... Kindle just stuck on fastboot screen now
Does your device have the front facing camera and the mini hdmi port?
So ok first i was running cyanomod 13 on it with twrp installed then i tried to root by getting a super user from a site they told me to just go into twrp and flash the zip with the super user to my kindle and ill be rooted thats what i did and after that i pressed reboot system and thats where the bootloop problem started. So it just shows kindlefire logo for about 20-25 sec then it goes black and comes back up again and this just keeps on repeating and so i cant access twrp to load my backup and my pc dosent recognize it when i plug it in. I also tried to do a hard reset that didnt work either.
Any suggestions on how to get this fixed?????? help needed....
i was told that i could buy a fastboot cable and that will bring it to fastboot then i could use a program to wipe and restore it but havent order it yet so any other ideas in the meanwhile?????
Hi, I think you might have to side load stock firmware and start over, it's the only method I found out there, Boot into bootloader, download the stock firmware and use Android development tool to install your stock, and start your same rooting process all over, hope this helps it's my first post.

You don't need to wipe your data or reinstall Amazon's OS. Do you have the CM13 ROM somewhere on your hard drive?

Apologies for the late reply - I've been busy with schoolwork lately. Anyway, all you need to do is copy the boot.img file within the ROM zip to an accessible folder on your machine (the desktop works, too), boot the kindle into fastboot with fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product, and then run fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot path/to/boot.img to flash the image. Then just run fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot to reboot the device afterwards, and it should work after that.
Hi, I tried to install Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my KFHD8.9, but bricked it in the process. When I turn it on it shows the normal orange kindle fire logo, and then the screen swipes to a red screen, then swipes to fastboot. I can't boot into TWRP, or FireOS anymore. I couldn't find any threads to resolve my problem, so I decided to make one.
Here's what let up to this, step by step:
First, it's running 8.5.1
So I rooted it using the KingRoot windows application (not the .apk)
Then I downloaded TWRP recovery 2.6.0.0 (as per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hd/8-9-development/root-install-twrp-android-fire-os-8-5-1-t3278286 )
I downloaded all the other files that said were needed.
I used the FireFlash11.apk, and followed the instructions exactly.
It booted into FireOS the first time, so I reflashed TWRP with FireFlash, and successfully booted into TWRP
I then realized I didn't actually have any ROMs ready to install, so I booted back into FireOS
I downloaded the files, and tried to boot back into TWRP (This is where things went wrong)
I held down the volume up button, just like you normally would, and waited three seconds. The screen flickered, said 'badi: boot image' and for some reason booted into fastboot...?
I looked online, and found that I should factory reset it, so I tried. It seemed to be going fine, until when it shut down. After I powered it back on, my current symptoms appeared (Red screen then fastboot).
I now cannot do anything besides that, so any and all help would be appreciated. Keep in mind that I'm kinda bad at this, and have only correctly flashed a rom using TWRP once, and that was by following a different guide on a different firmware kindle word-for-word, so I'm not quite sure what everything means.
Thanks in advance!

If you can boot into fastboot you should be ok.
Read this guide. It's old and file names may change but, the steps remain the same.
https://web.archive.org/web/20161224194648/https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_jem
If you are already in fastboot then start with Step 3.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash bootloader kfhd8-u-boot-prod-8.1.4.bin
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery kfhd8-twrp-3.0.2-2-recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot kfhd8-freedom-boot-8.4.6.img
fastboot oem recovery
That should boot you into TWRP recovery.
Just incase you need some files.
