I was usig htc one with android revolution HD 7.1 about a month, it went perfect , and one night when he was in standy by I wanted to open it to check email but did not want to open, I tried several times to press the power button, then tried power + volume up went into bootloader and I rebooted thinking it's something one time. After my picture appears dark from HTC and not react to any key combination. when I connect the USB or charger does not light no light nothing. I noticed today that after 12 hours after I left it completely dead after I connect the charger the red light lit up sign that is loading, I opened it and I was glad to go, the battery was at 1% I played little with him after I left to charge. After 30 minutes when I tried to open same problem completely dead stop responding to any order and then all stand there. I want to send it to warranty but do not know if I receive it because it's modified software and not stock. Can someone help me?
its sounds like a battery problem to me.

Yes I used a Sony Xperia Charger but I don't think this is the problem... My biggest problem is if they will receive it in warranty change with the bootloader unlocked , and android revolution hd in it.. I think increasingly more like it would be a problem with the battery. at intervals of 5-6 hours if you stay connected to the charger lit about 10 minutes and can use after dying ..
How can I copy on sd card from bootloader/recovery ?

Was excited opened the box today and played with the nexus 7 for about 3 hrs. Installed some apps and download a movie. Then the screen went black and never came back. It was charging at the time. Tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and nothing. Called Google they said hold all three buttons, that did nothing. Guess I'm taking it back to game stop. Going to have to wait for another to come in. Anyone else have this issue out any ideas

There was another similar occurrence earlier today. Think it was from UK maybe? Most likely you'll need to call Google for RMA.
Which firmware were you running?
Google said return it to game stop. Gs said they would take it back. It was running the latest update. Bc it ran an update after I opened it

Yup, I had exactly the same problem. Screen froze, flickered and then died completely. Btw, if you press the bezel around the screen is the left hand edge in portrait spongier/less robust than the rest of the device?

Not enough to be noticeable.

Hmm. Don't want to be "that guy" but... You only mention taking it out and playing.
Did you actually try plugging it in?
Edit: Woops, missed it on my phone. If it was charging, I'd advise you to get in touch with google. Try volume up + power for 10 seconds too though, just to be sure.

I hope mine is not faulty, it is on its way.
Similar things have happened on my Lumia 900. It has helped me to plug it in and out over and over and then try the button reset.

After getting an RA from ebuyer, I now have it working again after a number of hours on charge and doing much as txaggies07 quote suggests. I think there may have been a problem that the charge wasn't going through properly yesterday, even though I plugged it in and it registered on the icon top right. Once the screen died there was no response with the usual charging icon even after disconnect and reconnect (I even tried a different mains socket!) However, since I got it to boot again I have had 2 random reboots without doing anything taxing on it.
It is kinda flaky behaviour, but maybe it is worth a shot aklbeach? At least until Monday !

Yea I tried holding the power button for ten seconds and holding all 3 buttons like Google recommended. I already returned it to game stop. Now just waiting on another. It was plugged in to the wall charger. It was showing that it was charging and I tried plugging it in again the next day and still didn't do anything.

I had a similar experience. Played with mine for about 6 hours.
Testing things, trying things out, downloading apps, etc.
Put it to sleep and was preparing for bed myself. After a few minutes
I decided to download one more app. Tried to wake it up, but it was dead!
Tried all sorts of things: long press, pressing several of the buttons, tried
to connect it to PC to see if it would be recognized -- no go
I then plugged it into the wall to charge it overnight to see if that would work (no charging icon showed up)
The next day, still dead.
Called Google Play and they are sending me a new one.
I would say pull the battery for a minute and then plug it back in a try again but i think that might void the warranty. Seriously my G2 does that when its in my pocket sometimes and pressing the power button does nothing until a pull the battery. I'm about 68% sure that pulling the battery will get it to boot again.
Honestly though any electronic device with a sealed battery should come with on of those paperclip hard reset buttons, unfortunately logic fails some time.

No worries, not a waste. I had to check myself when it died. And when it wouldn't charge (did I turn it on at the wall? Maybe the socket is broken? Has there been a power cut? Am I imagining this?) Weird thing was it came back to life after much fiddling. I now think there may have been a stray piece of plastic or similar covering a pin and blocking the feed.

I plugged in my phone for 20 seconds and I went to check for email notifications and to my amazement it's fully charged.
This is now another possibility in battery issues. I know I'm using a faulty device (that's why I ordered a RMA) but this is kinda odd so I thought I'd share it with you guys.
Let's hope this instant charge sticks lol. I went from 7% to 100% in 20 seconds.

AW: Instant Battery Charge Glitch
This happens when you plug in the phone and the wall charger has no voltage, e.g. because you use a switch that is off. If you switch it on, the glitch occurs and the phone is instantly charged. Of course that's not really the case, though. Rebooting solves this most of the time.

this is a non-issue as it is charging fine when left. no disadvantages except when you really believe it is fully charged in a second.

Nope. It doesn't let me continue to charge until I restart the phone (for me at least).
My phone did this last night. I noticed it right away, so I just unplugged the cable and plugged it back in and bam it went back to charging its merry little heart out

Anyone know if this issue is fixed in upcoming release?

I think this is correct. I've had this happen 3 times in 6 months and it's only happened when I plug the phone into the charger right after plugging the charger into the wall.
I've since tried to leave the charger plugged in about 10-20 seconds before attaching the phone and it hasn't happened since (~3 months)

Hi everybody.. i'm encountering this problem with my HTC one. When I reach the 20 %-9 % range of the battery the one shut down. Try to reboot and shut down again on lock screen.then I'm forceed to put it on charge. Why this strange behavior ? Battery is broken or not calibrated?or a bug? Please help !!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
If i remember their is a battery calibration file somewhere in the system, if it is deleted it causes the phone to re-calibrate the battery gauge, have you tried a battery re-calibration app from the app store, i think this is what they do.

All stock!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
If it`s all stock and you dont want to root, all you can do is full charge and then run it till it shuts down a couple of times and hope the battery gauge learns the true battery capacity, if this does not work.
Or you could try charging it to 100% and keep it plugged in, then do a restore to factory defaults while plugged in, then see if that fixes it.
If this does not work, you might have a faulty battery, get a replacement phone.

Found this fix online, see if it works.
Option 2: (No Root) Physical Battery Calibration This option is also very simple, but at the same time, a little more time consuming. If you have a rooted device, Option 1 is definitely the way to go. However, if you don’t know what “root” means, stick with Option 2 and go check out the root section of Android Authority.
Turn your phone on and charge it for 8 hours or more.
Unplug the charger.
Turn your phone off and charge it for one hour.
Unplug the charger.
Turn on the phone and wait 2 minutes.
Turn your phone off and charge it for one hour.
Unplug, turn it on and use as normal. Your battery life should now be a lot better.
The phone was in my pocket and when I pulled it out it was dead. When I press the power button nothing shows up, no LED lights nothing. I've tried hard rebooting by holding Vol+ & Power at the same time even Vol- & Power but still nothing. Does anyone know what the problem is? It's been perfectly functional for a month till now.

Could it be that it was on without you knowing? The screen, that is. I have heard it and seen it make a change, forget to put it back, screen stays on, battery dies, etc. Maybe it was just an accident? Just keep tabs on it and see how you battery life is after you charge it again.

One question! Today i decided to charge my phone with its original charger for the first time! I plugged in the charger and after 20 mins or so i smelled like something was burning! Went to check the charger and it was halfway melted but the phone was still showing like it was charging! I disconnected it immediately and continued charging it with another charger! Now after fully charged my battery drops like a stopwatch! I wanted to ask a question ! Has anything happened to the phone or it is just a coincidence??
