(Q) please i need to unlock this phone (Q)

My htc is salsa C510e its software version was 1.12.707.4 i make golden card and i uploaded to it another ruu for O2_UK_1.18.206.2 I want to unlock it .
to unlock it using htcdev.com but it needs to update version i tried to update it but it gives by setting>about>software updates>chek now = your phone is up to date
how can unlock it ?

god sake don't use a gold card for s-off...more hassle then its worth mate

If you run the RUU from htc dev and if it says you need to upgrade and when you continue, it gives you some error. Follow below procedure
I did this.
If you are using windows
#1. Log in to your machine using admin rights
#2. Download the RUU from htc dev
#3. run the RUU till step 2(dont actually start upgrading the phone)
#4. Go to task manager and find the application process
#5. Right click and select open file location
#6. You should see a file with name PH11IMG.zip
#7. Copy this file on some other location on your hard drive
#8. connect your phone to computer as disk drive and copy this file on sd root (Make sure its a gold card)
#9. restart your phone in to recovery(Power volume key) it will automatically upgrade.
Steps above are tentative and may not be accurate, I just typed it in here. As i have done this long back i might have missed something. If you need accurate information look for the thread that talks about how to unlock using HTC dev on xda. I got this trick from similar thread.
Once you unlock, you can flash CWM and do rest of the stuff.

HTC One & Apple Mac

Does anyone here own a mac and have successfully unlocked bootloader and root their HTC One? All I find in my search is PC related.

I'm on my phone so I can't give you the links but it s very easy to Google them.
1) go to the HTC developer website to download the android sdk and follow the steps from the website to unlock the bootloader. Please note that you need to add ./ in front of all commands in osx. So, for example, you would input ./fastboot instead of fastboot.
2) download any recovery for the HTC one and flash it using ./fastboot flash recovery whateverrecovery.img
3) Download and put the superuser.zip in your phone. Flash it using the recovery to get root.

Before rooting... A few questions

Hello everybody,
I am considering rooting my htc one, but I have a few questions about returning to stock and rooting before I do.
Edit: When I say I want to return to stock, I want to be able to receive and install ota updates from optus.
1. If I make a nandroid backup straight after I root the phone can this be used to return to stock if I reflash stock recovery or do I have to flash ruu?
2. Is there anything else I need to go back to stock if the above method does not work? Where can I find the optus ruu?
3. When rooting with the all in one toolkit, do I select att htc one or international htc one? I have a HTC One 801s that is locked to Optus in australia.
Thanks in advance, if I do root my htc one, I'll probably only be flashing roms if that matters. My phone is an australian HTC One 801s that is locked to Optus.

1: yes you can
2: to go completely stock, flash stock recovery (to receive OTA) and re-lock boot loader.

Often you can get faster answers by searching.
Drop to fastboot on the phone and issue this command from your PC:
fastboot oem lock
You don't need to relock to install OTAs.

HTC ONE rooting and updating frimware

HI guys, I recently bough an international HTC ONE from ebay, but the thing is it is on very old software, ie, Android 4.2.2 with sense 5 (software number: Maximus 710.0.0.) I wanted to update it myself so first thing i have do is to update the recovery from a very old CRM to latest TWRP(2.6.6) and to do that I download GOO manager, but before i intalled by GOO manager i decided to check if it is truly rooted and turns out it is not rooted (used root checker to check root)although it has a custom rom and a custom recovery! So depending on my above given situation what can i do to get root access>install TWRP>install insert coin sense 6 rom . If anyone can give step by step tutorial for all this then their help will be truly appreciated! (if you want any info about my phone for the tutorial then please ask for it)

Post a fastboot getvar all minus imei no & serial no. Also a screen shoot of your bootloader to be sure your bootloader is unlocked.

[Q] Htc one installed a rom but did noy backup

Hi, I bought a HTC one m7 in Hong Kong a few months ago, when I bought it, it was running sense 4.1.2 version. I found out that I couldn't update my software to sense 6 when I tried to. I told my friend about it, and he told me to install a Rom, I didn't quite follow the instructions on YouTube correctly, so I didn't back-up my stock Rom that I had when I bought this phone. I need your help to give me dummy instructions and help me choose the ruu thingy

Connectyour phone with fastboot usb in the bootloader, and type this command into the fastboot command window

fastboot getvar all
Copy the out put and post it here. Please remove your IMEI and Serial number before posting :good:
