No need to re root, if you are rooted already
Just flash custom kernel like
Notecore or else using mibile odin (turn wifi off n after flashing on once in case of corenote kernel)
Then from recovery, wipe cache n delvic cache (no data)

You can flash directly on ICS, flash tar version with PC odin, then you need to reflash counter with Triangle away.
Gingerbread method is different, in which you won't get raise counter. for that you need to flash pre rooted ginger bread and then have to update to ICS + Notcore same time with Mobile odin pro.

I would also add when using triangle away to check first by going to Download mode how many flashes you have done and make sure it matches the one being shown by triangle away. I read somewhere that if it does not match it may cause a brick in the device can anyone confirm that?

YES. You first have to confirm that the application shows the exact counter that you are getting in Download mode or it may brick your device or c\you may have a corrupted boot loader.
I dont get you sahil, you mean in currupt bootloader it cause error?
Triangle application works only if device is live, so in case of corrupt bootloader how device will boot ?
Or you mean it can cause bootloader corrupt?

i.e. N7000ZSLPF---4.0.3/12.05---N7000OZSLPF---Download---Hong Kong
N7000ZSKJ6 ------ 2.3.5 2011 october-------- N7000OZSKJ6............-------------Hong Kong -----------------------Download
N7000ZSKJ6 ------ 2.3.5 2011 october-------- N7000OZSKJ6 ---------------------Hong Kong -----------------------Download
N7000ZSKK1 ------ 2.3.5 2011 November------- N7000OZSKK1 ---------------------Hong Kong ----------------------Download
N7000ZSLA2 --------------------2012 January--------N7000OZSLA2-----------------Hong Kong-------------------------Download (wipe)
Once I downloaded, I just put the full zip into sd card and install from sd card by going "vol up + power + center button" correct?
Yep, you're going to be upgrading to ics straight after right? So if you download any of those versions, then safest to install with pc odin (you'll find instructions of how to use in same thread).
Flash gb, wipe data, then sign into samsung account and google account and wait for update notification which should be fairly instant, update ota.

OK, This is what I did so far. Please tell me if my Note is rooted or warranty bye bye, because I am planning to get my phone to Samsung for final checking in 3 months before warranty ended.
This is my steps:
1) Downloaded 2.3.6 firmware N7000ZSLA2 --------------------2012 January--------N7000OZSLA2-----------------Hong Kong
2) use Odin to install it
3) When I am on 2.3.6, I installed or changed nothing, then plug my Note into PC with Kies On
4) Kies asked me to upgrade to 4.0.4 and so I did it right away.
5) My Note is on 4.0.4 firmware now.
so, is it all back to normal or is it something that it's warranty voided?

If it is kies update it is official, your still under warranty. Btw did you check your download mode if it had binary count or yellow triangle, because it will void your warranty also even though your on official firmware.

FAQ:
Is it new basebands or old basebands?
This ROM is for old basebands. It is Froyo 2.2.2
Why does settings force closes when I boot up?
I believe this is caused by having the new basebands installed when flashing the ROM. To fix: See bottom of first post in this post.
I just flashed the ROM, and I'm in a boot-loop. What do I do?
I have yet to find out why, but my phone does this too upon first flashing. Do a battery pull, and the phone should start up fine.
Note: I have received reports of a calendar bug. This appears to be a flaw in Froyo itself. Also, despite a complaint about ADB, ADB IS WORKING. I checked it myself.
If you have problems or issues please follow the following format:
Problem you are having and steps you took to get there
Phone model number (P500, P509, etc.)
Baseband (Old or New)
Carrier
Kernel (if not Franco)
Android 2.2.2?? :victory:
this should have amazing battery life :fingers-crossed:
will give it a try tomorrow :good:

It uses the stock basebands from the p509 (t-mobile version of the p500). These should be the same as the p500.
Edit: The ROM is 2.2.2 so I believe it uses the old basebands. Updating the post to make Android Version more clear.

Please post a detailed description of your problem so that I may help you better. Did you wipe the cache data and dalvik-cache before flashing? I am still working out bugs, and hopefully I can fix this in beta 2.

Is your phone with new baseband? Then you need to flash some new libs to get this froyo rom to work.

Like glimming said, it could be a baseband issue. The only time I had this problem was in my first alpha build, and it was because it was based off of the wrong stock ROM. OptimusC is based off the LG P509 stock. I'm working to see if this was your problem too.

Thanks for the help on solving this ROM's first big question! You are a big help! I will use this for an FAQ post.

[ROM][JB][4.4.2][4/6/14] CyanAOSP 4.4.2 v3.4.0 [Stable | For Gaming]

Main Features
1. Fast, stable and intended for gamers
2. Built from CM10.2 source with GCC 4.6 with O3 optimizations, heavily debloated , almost no 3rd party apps pre-installed
3. Cyancore kernel included for now
4. Additional tweaks ( vary from version to version )
5. For those people who love ROMs with lots of themes , customizations , apps etc , please leave now , you will be disappointed , this ROM is not for you.
3rd party apps
Nova Launcher
I understand that this ROM will sound simple and backward to many, but it is a stable and fast base for gaming, probably the fastest without OC, and with OC, it flies.......
Due to the cleanness of this ROM, it will provide exceptional battery backup too.
So do you users want a clean gaming oriented ROM or do you want your gaming to be riddled with problems and lags forever?
Feature Requests accepted, but only stuff which enhances the speed and stability, or betters gaming speed without lessening stability will be added.
Known Bugs
None ATM
Install Procedure for best performance
You should take a nandroid backup if anything goes wrong
1. Wipe data , cache , dalvik cache (required while changing layout)
2. Format system and datadata (required while changing layout)
3. Install CyanAOSP ROM, you will get an error if coming from other Roms!
3a. Install it again, this will fix the errors this time
4. Install Gapps , link below.
5. Set up the ROM and leave it alone for 10-15 mins.
6. Reboot again and enjoy.
Users way to get good flash:
from 4.3:
1.had to flash fluid kernel to get cwm.
2.then i wiped, etc.
3.flashed build 1.
4.then gapps. (took about 4-5 mins to boot.)
5.Skipped everything on setup menu. 6.Rebooted to recovery.
7.flashed Fluid Kernel, reboot.
8.Then I went to developer settings and select art.
NOTE: THIS HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
9.reboot

2.0.0:
CyanAOSP ROM v2.0.0
Changelog
1. Android Base update - JLS36G
2. Huge CM10.2 upstream sync
3. Latest CyanCore 3.2.0 Kernel
4. Removed CyanogenMod Account
I had a problem with the installation. Coming from CM 10.1.3, I received a warning " incompatible layout partition... error 7 ...".
Yes just reflash again it should go through. If you wipe it then flash twice it'll fix the partitions

Yeah it takes 200mb from data to system even though some ROMs like this don't need it. So don't try to directly flash without backing up apps

Flashed without a problem coming from PACman 4.3 it is super fast and great I haven't actually played a game yet though. I will report back about that and battery life tomorrow. It is a lot more responsive then PACman though and I love it

[Q] need quick answer please

hi n7000 user..
i have galaxy note 1 runnig 4.0.4 stock..
if i want to install a custom rom, do i need to update to jellybean or just stock 4.0.4 with custom kernel first?
thanks for the help bro
really need help cause my phone getting slow
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
If you never updates to jelly bean 4.1.2 you must to update binary.
Then install a custom kernel for 4.1.2 , Forest Kernel for example. for 4.1.2 roms , or if you want 4.4.2 kitkat a KK kernel.

The first thing to do is to root, and then install CWM on your Device, then followed by flashing a compatible SAFE KERNEL to avoid te emmc brick. I rooted and flashed custom rom over my previous ICS with this guide http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...on-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-no-computer-required/ way back then when I wasn't aware of XDA. Of course there are many more methods available per your liking. Just search around for your own preferred taste. If you know how to use phils, then it's the best and safest option to do.

Yes of course I performed wipe when installing ANY roms.. What I was referring to is DO NOT perform the wipes on your stock ics kernel and recovery. Instead, Flash a SAFE KERNEL preferably Phils, reboot again to recovery, and THEN you perform the wipes before flashing any custom rom like xperia zized.
To Flash a KK custom Rom, first u must flash a KK compatible kernel and recovery. The usual is Raw 4 Kernel (search on forum). Reboot recovery again, Do all wipes then flash your destined KK roms.

Yes speedmod is also a safe kernel. The only lack is the recovery which is not user friendly n no super wiper like on philz. The super wiper I mentioned refers to "Yes, I want to install a new Rom" option in Wipe factory reset that does full wipe at one touch.

Yes. Choose according to your BUILD number. Not Baseband or kernel. Of course find ics compatible. Not the JB ones. I did not use philz until I installed JB custom roms so you will have to research first if philz's is suitable for all android or is there a specific built for each android vers.
