I have just got my new lg optimus 4x hd, which i have updated to v20a using lg's updater (official), i have rooted and unlocked bootloader, everything was working great but then i used WiFi Pass Recovery & Backup http://goo.gl/NMMM0 to restore my wifi networks, after this wifi was working until i restarted the phone and now i can't get wifi to work, i tried restoring backup made on my new phone and using the reset in the app but the wifi will not turn on, it just says "turning on" until eventually it gives up.
I also tried deleting (after backup) the wep_supplicant.conf file at /data/misc/wifi and restarting but still no success,
I also tried a full wipe but it didn't work.
has anyone got any better suggestions or will i have to reflash the rom which i did try briefly with lgflash tool but failed.
Could someone send me their web_supplicant.conf file and entropy.bin, (i guess you may want to edit the file and delete/change the passwords before sending not that i'm gonna steal your wifi )
Thanks
Try to reflash rom with kdz or if you have a nandroid backup to restore it or make a factory reset in cwm

if you have already made a backup...if i understand it right...you have root and CWM and in ICS.
make a complete factory reset through CWM,format system and then you make restore. make sure you are restoring for the same bootloader. I mean new bootloader ROM for restoring for pink LG Logo when booting, or grey LG logo if you are on old bootloader
Hope this helps u
I'm sorry I forgot to say that I am on old bootloader and backup is from old bootloader. I did as you said but again stands on the logo lg,but if flash custom kernel turns on
You could use an unbrick tool, progmaq, a nvflash tool, for example to restore your whole device and then restore the backup you have got. All data on your voice will be wiped when you do this, so make sure you got all you want to keep backed up, including the nandroid backup.
thanks for the help guys.

Good evening,
I have a N7000 with Stock ROM 4.1.2 and the phone is rooted. Today after a periode of time I started the phone and it did the usual updated, including the Superuser.
After the update it freezed and in rebooted it pressing the power and home button. Ever since then I end up in a bootloop with reboots. I still can enter into recovery (Philz 6.0.3.1), however if I delete for example Dalvik cache the phone reboots (don't know if it ends the operation, or if it fails).
I am afraid that the bootloop is caused by the SU, however I am not sure.
I would need some advice, how the exit from the bootloop. Do I need to redo the rooting and install the SU?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, but it's XXLT4. I can't recall is that the latest 4.1.2?
2013-10-13.16.19.33_JZO54K.N7000XXLT4
Would that work?
If you did the backup in recovery, it should work... But I'm not that experienced either!

OK, I would give it a try....later today. Maybe any other suggestions instead?
Can I reinstall SU in the recovery?
may be try this..
boot into recovery and make a nandroid backup, then choose clean before new rom install. After its completed restore the nandroid backup and see what happens.

Thx. I did the backup, however as mentioned before it seems not to finish the operation and reboots instead. The date of the backup is shown as 2000-01-01...which looks quit wired to me. Time set in recovery is not ok either, but this might be due to taking off the battery earlier today.
I can try to restore my old backup but what would happen if it fails?
The date is not right because of the battery pull. Why does it not finish the backup? Any errors? Try an advanced backup of data partition only and see what happens.
If everything using recovery fails then you can use Odin method to flash a stock firmware..

Flashing with ODIN was what I thought as well. Does it matter if I upgrade from N7000XXLT4 to N7000XXLT5?
Should I do a factory reset from recovery first?
Sorry for the dumb q's...
Thx.
you can factory reset and then install the rom.
Solved

Here is an extract from Philz Recovery available at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 that will help you with the confusion.
What kernel to choose:
The important part is the Kernel code:
XWLPX-NEE
Kernel code is in red (LPX), for this example, you need an LPX ROM. However, often, you can mix kernels when they are close: LPF kernel with LPG ROM...
NEE code doesn't matter at all, I add it for reference. It is the CSC
XW: mixed, often doesn't matter for close regions. For example, XW and XX are often interchangeable. However, mixing a BU with an XW ROM or inversly, sometimes works, but often ends in a bootloop. In that case, either boot into recovery or download mode to reflash

Anything with N7000X-LT- will work fine, the latest rom is XXLTC, which you can get from samfirmware.com.

You must use a older version of Odin. I use a Odin version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609021. And try to use another cable.
Hi JanniekM00, and thank´s for the help, but the ODIN version in that page that you said is newer than mine. It is the V4.42. I tried it to but no luck. I tried with a diferente usb cable, one file and multi-file but nothing.
The version of android installed in phone before it as bricked was FROYO.
I am trying with GINGERBREAD roms. Can that be the problem?
I wanted to try with a FROYO rom but I can´t find anywere.

Hi Viper, I mean that after ODIN restart phone to install firmware, it restart but blinking, light on and off, on and off, and to stop I have to take out the batterie.
Try to installiert a custom recovery if you didnt do yet. Then install with the recovery the Rom you wish.
If you bricked your phone and dont have a backup you cant restore the imei.

Our problem is there's NO a secure way to back up/restore IMEI partition, so you can corrupt the partition when you try it
im currently on B370. i think i have some corrupted system files (stock theme app wont load).
i tried to reflash B370 by going to recovery, but the system update option doesn't appear. i know im not updating as i already have B370 installed, but i thought it may still be an option to reflash.
is it possible to reflash your current firmware?
maybe if you force update by 3-button method..
don't forget the backup..
that is just an idea..i don't know if this will work..

Extract the Update.app with Huawei Update extractor........
Flash with fastboot
System.img
Boot.img
Recovery.img
Maybe recovery2.................
After boot make a factory reset
thanks for your replies. i managed a reflash by going into the dialler, and typing *#*#2846579#*#* , and using the software upgrade from there.

Have you installed a full firmware version? Because, yesterday I tried to reflash(same version) my huawei's firmware but it doesn't change anything.. I found all things just like it were before and update finishes in less then a minute.. Simes6600, did you have the same issue?
Inviato dal mio HUAWEI CRR-L09 utilizzando Tapatalk
i had to reflash because my themes app was missing after i installed the custom "K" rom, so couldn't change themes. when i reflashed B370, it replaced the themes app and my themes started working again.
