[Q] HTC one M7 frenquency band problem - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a chinese version of the HTC one M7, it's called 802W over there, which has a dual sim cards.
Brought this phone back to Canada, coz I live in a small town, this phone won't pick up the frequency from bell (so means no signal at all)
but it works with other sim cards from other companies like Rogers, Fido.
The bell ppl told me if I flash the rom and bootloader, I might find one that will support bell frequency.
I am just wondering if someone can tell me, is that possible? because someone else told me the phone frequency band has nothing to do with rom and bootloader. Can someone comfirm this?

this MIGHT be possible. but currently the phone is S-ON which means its security locked on. without the security being off we cant access the particular section of the phone where the radio lies. until we can theres no option to adjust the radio frequencies(we dont even know if this is possible). so UNTIL we can get s-off this is a very very very far speculation.

thanks, guess I will try flash a couple then

You can actually flash a different radio if you are rooted. But I assure you it won't magically switch frequency bands. It's the hardware that needs to be changed for it to work.
Tried it already and no go.

I bought and htc one from hong kong and it was not working on the 1900 freq. I dig out from internet the following, the specs you see for the htc one dual sim in every auctions and even on the htc website is the specs for the htc one (normal one, no dual sim and no microSD). the dual sim desing was only made for china.
aparently they removed the antenna for the 1900 freq (which is not used in china, since they only have 850 and 2100 band), the space that the 1900 band antenna left was used to adapt the microSD and the dual sim. it seems that the dual sim is a pretty good demand in china since they are a grown economy and people needs to have 2 active line (reason why you will see also a samsung galaxy S4 dual sim).
So unfortunally there is no way right now you can make it work on the 1900 freq. unless you have the skills to open the device and replace the 2100 antenna for a 1900 one, and reprogram the entire phone.

wow but at&t is 1900

[Q] Radio Question

Hi,
I was about to buy this phone today, I put in my SIM card but could only get roaming, it would not see my home network, though the phone is unlocked. I'm on Mobilicity in Canada, which uses the AWS 1700MHz band.
I noticed on gsmarena they show two 3G versions for this phone, one has 1700 the other 1900. My question is, do these two versions have different hardware or are they just programmed differently? Would I be able to activate the 1700 band if I flash the right baseband?
Thank you.
Different hardware, therefore not possible to hacktivate it for other frequencies.

1.) the LTE Frequencies vary from country to country...
From HTC:
EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
US (Sprint): 1900 MHz
Asia: 1800/2600 Mhz

Now comes the great news.. as far as I know Rogers uses 2600 MHz . so EU Version from the UK WILL work!
99% confident
EDIT:
Maybe this Thread can be moved to Q/A
Rogers should have the phone next Friday....given that is when the pre-order offer ends
the one that available now, only has one band that matches rogers LTE band :2600
as far as i know and read from XperiaZ forum, (c6603 XperiaZ has almost same LTE band as ONE)
no one are able to get LTE.
if you need LTE. get it from your provider.

I could assume they have the US Model then? If they have the European one, all they need is the correct apns and maybe activate LTE over Settings.. DIAL *#*#INFO#*#* and then phone information ... and see if LTE is activated

as far as i know
we tried everything possible can to test LTE
last hope wehave is flash the baseband when xperia zl came out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106818&page=40
anyhow
2600 is still not very realible (although i heard that one verison of Note2 that only got 2600 got LTE)
Alright so I guess I'll hold off. What band I'd missing exactly
So not 100%sure the uk version will work on rogers LTE??
how many version of htc one is there
i checked the htc uk n canada site
all the specs are the same
so ibm kind of confused
should i get that from uk or not
cuz its about 150$$$ different

[Q] International Version ???

Hi there
I want to buy the HTC ONE "again", but the problem is that I'm not sure which one.
After some research, I've found that there are several different versions of the HTC ONE:
HTC 801n ONE, ONE HTC 801e, 801a ONE HTC, HTC ONE 801W ...
Well why "again"?
Thing is that I had one until recently, the 801n, i got through a contract renewal in Switzerland, and I was very very happy with it!
But the trouble started when I went on a trip again. I travel a lot between Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US, and due prolonged
stays in these countries, I have a simcard in each country, as well as prepaid and contract, each with internet access (3G and 4G).
Now in Mexico I noticed that my brand new HTC ONE 801n, was not compatible with the frequencies used here (3G, 850Mhz with Telcel Mexico), which made it useless as a smartphone. Therefore I sold it. But I loved this phone, so I am going to buy me a new HTC One!
Question is, which HTC ONE is the right for me?? Also I read everywhere on the internet about an "international" HTC one, an "international version"??
Is this one of the above versions I mentioned? "International," does it mean that it will work with all the frequencies in all the countries I travel to? With at least 3G Internet can use, perhaps even with 4G? And where do they sell it? And how can I identify it?
Thanks for your help

Not really, because already sold mine europe htc one, and looking for a new international one, which I can use in in europe and in the US, without hacking or flashing it.
And as noob in the smartphone area, i wouldnt be able to do it,even right now i am having problems to understand what they are talking about in the other thread
International version means it isn't locked to any specific carrier yoy basically any sim from any country should work. You should check that the network frequencies that the phone can handle are compatible with the country that you're visiting but a quick check of the phone specs will tell you that.

You just need to look at the table in the first post
First, find out what 3G/4G frequencies are available with what carriers in each country you travel to. Then you can pick a model that will provide the most coverage. Just going off the 850MHz 3G requirement, you have a few variants to choose from.

US and in Mexico , 3G 850 MHz , and one thing i read was that if the 850 MHZ are not supported by the phone, it seems that it doesnt matter that all other frecuencies avaible in the coutry are supported, the phone wont work with 3G, no matter what. is that right.
No beeing right now most of the time in Mexico for the rest of the year, thinking to buy the HTC One in the US HTC online shop, the unlocked version, 600 USD,
and it says
This HTC One® unlocked version comes with: 32GB of onboard memory and is SIM unlocked.
- HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
Now, at Telcel Mexico , they told, if I buy a phone in the US, it has to be an ATnT compatible phone, and it will work without a problem in Mexico, same frecuencies as AtnT.
Are those the frecuencies used by AtNT??
If the only 3G frequency your carrier supports is 850Mhz, then it doesn't matter what other frequencies the phone is capable of.
Look at the table in the HTC One variants thread, and compare the frequencies of that phone with what is listed for AT&T. And more importantly, what Telcel Mexico support.
What about 4G and Europe, are they high or low priority? The Asian variant supports 850Mhz 3G and has a good overlap with the European 3G and 4G frequencies, but not the US 4G frequencies. What do you consider more important?

[Q] Local carrier has one phone using LTE, am I able to utilize it with the One?

Hello everyone,
I have a question I am hoping can be answered.
I used to own an HTC Dinc with that device I was able to watch YouTube no problem, however I can't watch any videos at all with this new phone.
I am thinking it's just slow connectivity*this is prolly it* but what's so different with my old phone to this?
My local carrier sells this particular model so I bought it second hand, it's a great device don't get me wrong but this one thing is killing it for me.
Is there a way to bring it back to the carrier and have them set it up to use the data like on my Dinc or am I just stuck with crappy connection?
Now with that all said, my local carrier markets 4G LTE but it has only one device which is an LG AS840, I actually asked if I can implement this to my One. They said they can't, I am wondering why wouldn't it work? Is it because the frequencies don't correspond with each other? Or am I missing something entirely?
All I want to do is be able to watch videos when I am not using WiFi*no internet at home atm, I have WiFi at work though*.
Another thing to add as well is, my girlfriend has an S3 which is AT&T branded, well to say it frankly her phone has much better connection than my One. I am also wondering about SIM unlocking, if I SIM unlock will I be able to use a SIM card from her carrier? Currently the carrier she uses is DoCoMo Pacific which uses AT&T branded devices while mine uses Sprint.
If anyone can enlighten me on this subject or even shoot down all my hopes I would appreciate it!!

Who is your carrier, specifically? If your girlfriend is on DoCoMo Pacific, I’m guessing you live in Guam. The Sprint One can only use LTE on the 1900 MHz G-block (Band 25). Currently, I believe that Sprint is the only carrier in the world that uses that frequency/block, meaning the Sprint One will only be able to use Sprint’s LTE network. Since this is part of the physical design of the radio/antenna, it cannot be changed.
Here is the full list of frequencies that the Sprint One can access:
2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G - UMTS/HSPA: 1900/2100 MHz with HSPA+ up to 14.4 Mbps
3G - CDMA: 800/1900 MHz for Sprint
4G - LTE: Sprint: 1900 MHz

In order to access the UMTS/HSPA bands, you would have to SIM-unlock. You would have to find out if there’s a carrier in Guam that transmits on those 3G frequencies (1900/2100 MHz) if you want to do things like stream video because the 2G/2.5G is very likely not fast enough.

My carrier is IT&E.
So doing a SIM unlock will help me at least switch to a different carrier, I was actually thinking about doing it just to switch. But as I was reading the various SIM unlock threads here, it's still pretty sketchy.
How about that LG AS840 using LTE on my carrier, or should I throw that thought out the window?
I will look around and see what kind of prices the carrier's offer, I dont want to be on contract so maybe prepaid is the way to go*I'm actually off contract but still pay my contracted amount.
This device is exceptional but the data speeds here locally suck.

[Q] How to get LTE working in Europe

I have HTC One Sprint Sim unlocked. It works well in GSM networks, however I recently visited Sweden and Poland and was unable to get my GSM sim to work there, maybe this is a roaming issue. However I plan to relocate to Sweden and i want to get LTE working there. Sprint has LTE freq at 1900 Mhz, and in Europe you'll mostly get 1800 Mhz. Is there any way to get LTE working at Europe?

Not possible with Sprint one m7 unless someone comes up with the way to enable rest of the frequencies
