Hi everyone, I bought a used HTC One about 5 months ago.
It works great but it's not updating to 4.3. It says it's up to date.
I read that Rogers updated the phone about a month ago.
I started reading around and found that if you have an unlocked bootloader, it will not update.
Is this true? I'm pretty stupid when it comes to phones, and I don't even have a clue what a bootloader is,lol.
But I read that I should hold down the power and volume down button.
This is what it says:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.44.0000
RADIO - 4a.14.3250.13
OpenDSP - v26.120.274.0202
eMMc - boot
Mar 16 2013 16:14:20:-1
Does that mean the bootloader is unlocked and will not update OTA?
How can I update, if possible?
Thanks very much for your help in advance!
is the phone running a custom rom? Go into settings --> about ---> software information. What does it say there?
The unlocked bootloader isn't actually a problem. However if there is a custom recovery installed it becomes a little messy to upgrade the firmware.
Thanks for replying, here is what it says:
Android version = 4.1.2
HTC Sense = 5.0
Software number = 1.29.401.13
HTC SDK API level = 5.12
Under "More" it says
Kernel version =

Baseband version =

Build number =
1.29.401.13 CL177101 release-keys
Browser version =
WebKit/534.30
Can anyone please give me a hand and tell me what I need to do to update?
Thanks very much

Thanks for the links, I went to the page, found my version, installed exactly like the video and it installed fine.
All the info I have above is exactly the same. When I go to update, it still says I am up to date.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for the help so far, I appreciate it.
My HTC M7 running 4.4.2
Sense 6.0
SoftwareNo 5.12.707.104

And i can not double-tap on screen to wake this phone.
So i check Software update to 6.13.707.101 (4.4.3), i download already, but can not install update.
Because system notify me that system not is original ROM, can not update.
I tried to go to recovery mode (Vol Down + Power) => recovery, but red warning triangle appeared.
Please help me how to update to 4.4.3 & sense 6 & can double tab to wake.
Please step-by-step if you can.
Thanks you so much.
So I've done some research into this and it seems that the consensus is that it is not possible to flash an ATT rom on a Sprint HTC one, however the phone I currently own (purchased second hand) seems to be a sprint phone (there's the logo on the back and there's the sprint splash screen that pops up when the phone starts) with a what appears to be a ATT baseband and rom flashed to it. The following information is listed on my phone:
Kernel version: 3.4.10-ge12f77e [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version: 4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L
Build number: 4.18.502.7 CL302626 release-keys
Browser version: Webkit/534.30
Re-locked
HBOOT 1.56.0000
Radio-4T.24.3218.09
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.18.502.7
eMMC-bboot 2048MB
Would it be possible to replicate this on another sprint phone that is unlocked, rooted and S-OFF? I followed every step of this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665954) on a new sprint htc one in order to try to get it to accept a cricket SIM and work properly but even after doing the GSM fix in the thread the data/signal still constantly disconnects. While on my old phone everything works flawlessly.
Apologies in advance for any missing information or inaccuracies since I am relatively new to this all.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I have been running an InsertCoin ROM for about a year now, and it is driving me insane. I rooted this phone and put this ROM on as soon as I got it, and now that I come back to XDA for an update, everything is changed and I am a bit confused.
When I go onto Venom ROM website, it says I need to update firmware to HTC 5.0.2. However, I can't tell which firmware I am even on, and I feel like a complete dumb ass. Here is relevant info for my phone, I want to update to a new rom and TMo's latest radio. If someone can real quick throw me some bulletpoints, i'll figure out the rest. THANK YOU!

for what its worth, i get that red warning on boot splash saying that this build is for development purposes. I think what I need to do, is first flash the latest stock tmobile rom, and then flash venom rom over it.. does this sound right?

In most cases, flashing the new radio does not particularly make a difference. Most roms will flash even on older radios. BUt, it is recommended to flash the newest firmware.
Your firmware is the oldest one for the M7. It is the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. The HBOOT version gives away the firmware version FYI. You have the option of updating the TMobile radio version, or since you're S-OFF, flashing the latest 5.0.2 international firmware. The TMobile firmware is slightly older as i can't find the latest one, but it should work. Link is :

Thank you for the help!!!
So I just need to flash this RUU and then I can install ViperROM? Sounds easy enough
I guess since this is going to delete everything, i'll start the picture backup now...
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I forgot to add, I think i need their latest radio or something, because my phone is unable to connect with TMobiles new 4g range booster. Hopefully this fixes that probelm, as well as the battery life issue that cropped up
Hello everybody.
I just have bought this good phone HTC ONE M7, but I have two problems and I cannot return the phone:
1- My infrared port is not working, I have tested with another HTC ONE M7 and my Samsung TV turns off and on, but no with MY HTC ONE M7.
2- When I use handsfree (no headset, the internal one) people doesn´t ear me properly, so I have not to use the handsfree.
My question is: do you think that it could be because of my Android version on this phone, so it´s a software problem?
I cannot upgrade this phone because menu "Update" is not there (I don´t know why) so I would have to change the room
My version is:
Android version

HTC Sense Version

I don't think your device is "Stock"
I would read up on using fastboot, then post the output of "getvar all" to be sure of your phone model. Then pick and flash the appropriate stock ruu from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
This will return to stock and help determine if it's a software or hardware problem.

Duplicated thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/htc-one-m7-test-device-cyanogenmod-gpe-t3353171
Already answered him that his phone was really messed up (M7_UL with a sprint firmware installed) and that flashing a RUU or the correct firmware would solve many problems but didn't replied....
I wouldn't be surprised to see that the MID is also wrong...

Thank you very much for your answers, but I don´t want to change the rom because I have some days to test it. Althougt i think I will return it to him because the battery is running out on one day and when I use handsfree the other person doen´s hear me very well, I do not think it´s because of the Android version, what do you guys think about this?
