Im having a problem theming pop up background colors. For example if you hot the menu button in the browser, you get new windows bookmark etc... the background I have for that is black with white text. However if I hit the more option? It brings up a new pop up menu with the same blavk background but now the text is black and I can't see it.
So my question is what file is it to change that background and where or where is the. Xml file to change that font color to white? Thanks!

Thanks, but I didn't find what I was looking for in that topic.
I'm pretty sure that's either in resources.arsc or services.jar in system/framework/framework-res.apk...I can't remember what sub folder it was maybe values/styles...you will have to decompile them using apktool or some other tool that uses smali /baksmali ... hope this points you in the right direction.

Please post your modded SMS Unread Count apk's and requests here! To install a modded version, uninstall the Market version and then install the downloaded .apk from your favorite file manager.
You can add your custom icons for use with SMS Unread Count by placing them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".

I'm not to bothered about the counter color. The thing that I would like to mod is the orange high light when you hit the SMS unread icon. Has anyone changed this so there is no color at all when you select it

No, but I can tell you that the highlight is a .9 png in the res/drawable folder.
I saw a black/white one today, hopefully gomorrah will be kind enough to stop by and post them

I would like to see this widget with only the digit visible, no bubble, no outer ring or glass effect.
I have posted on the "Transparent widget skins" thread -->here but I think quite heavy coding is required. Only managed to remove the glass effect of the bubble.
There is a work around for this using Minimalistic text and Tasker, so it is not a problem for me, but would be nice to see a free and easier alternative.
Also, it will require some digging in the "Post your screen shot" threads but the black bubble mod is there somewhere.
Here's a gold one and orange one, although they are very similar.
Okay, I've figured out how to mod the bubble color, but I can't figure out the text color.
Here's pink with white text and black with white text.
Transparent might be tough, because the bubble is RGB and not ARGB, so there is no alpha value control transparency.
I'll keep trying for for text color and transparency.

Install them like any regular app. If you already have SMS Unread Count on your phone, it should just update with the new color.

I have the same question. Put them in the folder mentioned in the settings. But the icons dont show up in the icongallery of the widget.

The folder you need is a subfolder of the data folder on the SD card. You should put them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".
If it doesn't exist, create it.

Hello, This is dark theme mods based on deodexed files of auras76's RomAur ROM and djsnoopyxxl's mod apps. With my noob skill, I decompiled their mod apps & deodexed apps, compared them, copied & pasted them to meet my need. All icons & others graphics that isn't stock belongs to djsnoopyxxl. I added my variant of text color a liitle bit. Basically these files are deodexed but they're working with stock odex rom and should be working deodexed rom too (I'm stock odex).
I've tested this mods on my XZL (original thread) and confirmed working on XZ by some of you guys (thanks for risking your XZ guys )
And as always, Use it as your own risk (and bla bla bla )
How to install
do a full backup before installing, just in case.
install via cwm.
wipe cache & dalvik cache.
reboot.
(hopefully) enjoy
I didn't test all menu/screen of these apps but i'm sure there are some of them that still has stock-eye hurting look. If you guys test it and found them or other glitches/bug. Pls tell me, i'll try to fix them

Hi, i update phonebook.apk to fix white vertical bar in dial pad's input field. You can download and apply new zip in the 1st post or use attached phonebook.apk below by copy/replace it to /system/app, change permission to rw-r--r-- then reboot your phone.

if you go to edit a merged phonebook entry (for example a phone book entry which is merged with a skype entry), then there is a white background theme with white letters and grey text input fields. it should be black background theme with white letters and grey input fields...

Unfortunately, for reason I don't know, I can't take screenshot...
I tried also third party app for screenshot, with no luck. All I get is a black frame.
If you like you can try to merge two contacts together (you can merge two phone contacts) and then try to edit this new contact, in order to see what I am talking about

just another thing i found:
during a call, if you press the audio select button, if you have a bluetooth connected, there is a pop up menu, where you can select the audio output.
with your mod this menu has white background with white text, while it should be white text with black background...
is it possiblw to resize the contact picture to be inside the frame below the upper call bar because whenever a full contact photo is displayed during a phone call, the number and name get disappeared since the backround is transparent and the text is white

Hi, i don't know how to resize contact picture. But if your issue is text reading over white contact picture. I've adjust transparency a little so we can read text easier, pls check it out

The stock messaging app does not have an option to change the background, you can use a 3rd party app like handscent which has many customization options but thats upto you. in regards to the menu again as stock you cant, it would mean modifying the framework and things like that, you may want to check the themes section to see if anyone has created a mod. Try at your own risk

Yes the Sony dialer and messaging software are terribly designed. It almost looks like they just don't care.
I ended up using Handcent for SMS with the Samsung style skin. I also am using exDialer with a dark theme which looks great and has a better usability. There are lots of great skins for either one of these apps.

Yeah I just forgot to upload theme file and screenshots of the theme because i was also busy in preparing for my biology test.....
Now i have uploaded both the theme file and screenshots.
Looks nice but in drop down menu could be original white bckgrownd? ? as I don't see icons quite
Edit ; I like it but is there chance that u can leave dialer(green) untouched with sms (green) and untouched notif. menu (white) untouched ?

The icons are whitish and they disappear in white background.
Actually when you touch the icon to turn on a specific feature...it becomes more bright and more visible. I have kept the text of toggles bright white so they are always more visible and comfortable to look.
But I will thibk what should I do to make toggle icons more viewable.

I have blended both wallpapers ( previous one and yours ) and result is ....
I have blended them so as too keep background relative to theme.

For thicker signal bars I think I require systemui.apk from emui2.3. Then I can change them in the upcoming weekend.
