I didn't see any eta on Ubuntu for the one.
I think we can see something when canonical will release a stable edition (at the end of the mounth) for Nexus devices.
After, maybe, someone can start a porting.

Due to the lack of a more appropriate place, I had to post in the Touch Diamond forums. Why dont we have a Touch HD forum yet? The device has already been officially announced by HTC and there are lots of us enthusiasts here who would love to get the conversations rolling. Thanks.

Thanks Galaxys. I am surprised why this question is being ignored by the admins/mods.
i'm sure it will be introduced along with all the other new Touch series coming out, but it's not out for a while yet
Since the first Android ROM running on the HD7 has appeared, is it time to start making new sections for the HD7? We all know how much development the HTC Leo a.k.a. the HTC HD received and it is only natural to expect the HD7 to receive just as much attention from the developers.
So what are your opinions on this? Should there be an Android section? Please comment below...

I knew there were people wanting Android on their HD7 , why not get the Inspire 4G, Thunderbolt, or EVO 3D...we'll never know
I only want it for bragging rights. I wouldn't actually use is as my main OS. More of a play ground to p!ss about with.

All my friends with their HD7's are jealous of my Ultimate Droid running HD2......They are begging to have droid on their phones but until now I have been saying it's not possible....
I would love to have Android on the hd7. I need wireless tether and it looks like the only way to get it is to have Android installed on this phone

I need the Android port to my HD7... It was cheaper than the Desire HD, so I bought this one. The design of the HD7 is also far better, than the DHD's. But, the OS.. Unusable.. I bought it to use it, not to be connected to a PC whenever I want to do something with it.. There is no download option for files? Where are we? It's not a smartphone, if my very-very old SE v800i have much more abilities, than this one. No 3gp support. XD The most common mobile video file format. With Android I could use it as a smart phone, that doesn't need to be plugged to pc all the day and it could be a portable, mobile(!!) device.
AT LEAST I SOLD IT!!! back to the old Touch Pro 2 The WP7 is a horror...
HD7... Android... T-Mo.... CONFUSED!
So I called T-Mobile yesterday to see if I can get an android instead of my HD7 but it was a no-go for i have missed my 14 day return period but the person on the line told me that I could RUN ANDROID on my HD7 and it works and it can be done BUT it VOIDS my warranty (which I knew) and it's kinda timely and drawn out and to check XDA for ALL the answers to my questions but I have yet to find anything really useful. HELP PLEASE
P.S. I got the phone for free thats why I have it

Yes. The Guys From Xda.cn have posted 2 videos showing it working. the 1st shows an SD card error and no wifi or cellular radio.
The 2nd one however shows all this working.
The DarkForcesTeam have made RSPL's so android can run on the phones (this being all HTC WP7 Phones) so my guess is that they are working on doing something like their MAGDLR for the HD2.
The guys from xda.cn have apparantly stated a June release, so just wait and see, You've just got to be patient with this, its a huge job to port it.

By the way how is that going to be effective who are (claims) that they making android when the developers from wp7 are aboutt to give an update of MANGO?
Does this mean the developer who are making android for htc hd7 have to re-start again because WP7 has a new interface MANGO about to be release soon ?
Just wondeirng either theres going to be any interference with the making of android vs the new MANGO about to come soon. Due to the fact some settings may be different from what WP7 is know to what MANGO will be next and try android on that. Confused.

Maybe I´am the only one left with interest ... today i replace Touch panel and display on my diamond ... don't want to spent 300+ € for a new phone. The total cost 18 € ... and I already tried to push prabhat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943396 to build something like that - no success

Also, developing is not as simple as words outta the mouth, it takes quite some effort to port Ubuntu Touch even for flagship devices, let alone ours. Szezso has his own life just like ours, thus we must remember that he devotes his free time to dev for us for absolutely nothing. He is already busy with dealing with unfinished issues in CM11, don't bother bogging him down with another request, especially if the request is put forward casually.

If you treat it a question then why post it in the Dev section? General section is where these belong.
Additionally, like said above, Ubuntu Touch is currently very limited in function. As I experienced the "stable" version on my Galaxy Nexus 2 months ago, only calling, SMS and basic web experience can be guaranteed, many apps are just placeholders or won't work properly. So even if you somehow persuaded someone to build, your excitement won't last longer than 10 minutes, I can almost guarantee that.
