I cannot figure out how to switch the keyboard on ARHD 8.1 ROM??

Haven't done this myself but I'll take a crack.
Settings/Language & Keyboard/
You should then see your new keyboard and need to turn it on
Then go into your text messages and get the keyboard to pop up and then go to your notification pull down and you should see Choose input method.

Thank you. Never had to check the notification drawer for that before. Thought I was losing my marbles.

Thanks, but I basically just want the stock Android lock, I don't want to get rid of it completely
use this one. flash it in recovery. at least it behaves like you wanted to but i prefer sound on/vibrate on rather sound on/sound off slider.
If i'm not mistaken, u should remove the stock alarm(u can't turn it off if the alarm goes on). I can't remember whether DeskClock or something else....
thanks for the file

Lock Screen Apps

I've read that the apps on the lock screen cannot be changed. I used Handcent for texting. Is there anyway to get Handcent to come up on the lock screen?
Maybe you can try go lockscreen. To change it. Because so far you can not change anything.

Widget Locker is a good fully customizable lock screen alternative.

Whatever texting app you set to default should act as the app that gets used when you swipe down on the lock screen. I'm using go SMS and it works. Even the default texting homepage icon takes me to my default app (go SMS) and the widget popup still works.

[Q] Loss of menu buttons?

Every now and then I keep getting no response when trying to nagivate the screen as the HOME, BACK and BOOKMARK buttons are no longer on the screen leaving me to restart the kindle.
Anyone experience this and know how to fix?
Sorry, it's not the menu buttons its the option buttons that appear at the bottom.
The only bypass has been to install an app called fullscreen
I've heard that happening because Gmail was installed. Not sure though

No that's the notification bar gmail affects,
Did you freeze some stuff by chance? Try going into the kfhd 7 general thread that deals with the bottom bar they've made some modded ones, perhaps yours just got corrupted

You've turned off animations. Turn them back on (even if at x0.5) and you'll be fine again.

Actually, you only need to turn on animation duration scale to .5x, not the other 2.
If you don't know how to do that, go into developer options, then advanced..
Hadn't realized that would affect on screen buttons . Thank you
