Hello,
Has anyone had the same problem with this APP? It used to work well up until the last update. since then it keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting the 3G.
I tired to uninstall after doing the "Mobile network reset" but the problem remains. I looked it up and it seems other people have the same problems with it - no solution.
Any ideas how to resolve/get rid of it?
Try "Juice Defender"
First I need to get rid of the mess that the current one is doing to my system...
If you select Maximum Battery Saver under battery mode in Android settings it will turn off the 3G radio after 15 minutes of inactivity. It will affect push email, but not texts or calls since those don't use 3G.
My problem is not with the system setting, it's the Easy Battery Saver who have "planted" something in the system which kills and unkilles the 3G.
I can't find the logic behind it's behavior. I know for a fact that it makes my battery efficiency great BUT I can't get 3G constantly....
I just need help from someone who know how to get rid of the application WITH it's effect on the system (A simple "uninstall" is not working)
Factory reset. Sorry.

Yes, this app became too messy.
I started using Battery Life Saver (quite new) which is much more simpler and you know what it does (no hidden things like the 15 minutes inactivity thing.

Hi to everyone. I forgat to turn my wifi off during my working hours. In the nd of my shift, i check my battery and it was proximately %5 left and even i didnt use the phone during my shift. it was %50 or something before starting. Does wifi still work even on the sleeping mode?
Thanks guys
no it stays on unless you set up the power saving mode i use custom settings so that wifi etc will turn off at 40% battery
wi-fi is a big battery drainer. Always have it off if you don't need it. Same with gps, data, and auto-sync for various accounts
Try using juice defender. I think the free version always you to enable wifi control (after your phone goes into sleep mode it should turn off the wifi until you wake it up)

juice defender is in itself a battery drainer. don't use those "battery saver" apps. they're all bs. just get in a habit of turning off connections manually when you don't need them.
Are you aware of the setting: wifi settings/advanced/wifi sleep policy and set it to sleep when screen turns off?

Thanks I didn't know about that setting, but my question is once wifi turns off mobile data kicks in. Which drains battery more? Wifi or mobile data?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
They both drain battery equally as much. Mobile data shouldn't kick in unless you have it toggled on.

Use Green Power to automatically disable wifi and data when the phone goes into stand by. There are lots of settings like enabling wifi at certain intervals to sync email/whatsapp/other push services.
On GB for me it's the difference between losing 25% battery overnight without it and losing only 3% when it's enabled and that's with sync every hour.
It seems that on any ICS rom wifi doesn't use any juice even when enabled in standby. Because of the kernel bug in the leaks I'm now on the official CM9 rom and after almost 9 hours with wifi turned on I only lost 4%, on every other ICS rom I tried I get the same results.

I tried juice defender ultimate but connection was on and off and time to time it took ridiculous amount of time to get the connection back :/ also I don't know why with juice defender I noticed sluggish performance phone, after uninstalling everything was much more snappy.
I have wifi on all the time and I only lose about 2-3% over night on stock, I guess it's fine the way it is for me without using all those battery "saver" apps.

I disagree. I definitely get power savings with JD compared to without it. Auto-disabling WiFi saved loads of power for a start, and my overnight drain has gone from 3-5%, to approx 1% with JD running. I'm not saying all batt saver apps are worth using, but JD works for me.
Its a lot easier to have a well-behaved app that DOESN'T use a lot of power itself manage your connection toggling rather than having to remember to do it yourself.

Wrong. WiFi uses more power. Its a separate transmitter being driven by the battery, whereas as mobile data will use the existing transmitter (phone) that's already on, but obviously drive it a little harder than if it was all off.
Hey all I've had the jelly bean P.A 2.1 rom with hydro 3.5 for afew days' and I think my battery is draining Abit to much. I have no clue how to use betterbatterystats so can I have some pointers??? Ive fully charged my phone and its been running for around 20 mins and using only wifi to browse and it drained 10%. Is this normal....
I've snapped some shots but I don't have a clue what betterbatterystats means...

judging on the screenshot you have dude, I'd say you have one massive wakelocks on your phone. It seemed that your data connection is always on. Wifi, 3G and etc.
My rule of law (I'm not sure if this will apply to you, but you can give it a try if you like), is... Use only data connection (Wifi/3G/BT) on a need to basis. What that means is, you can turn it off all your data connections and turn it ON ONLY when you need to. Your phone's always awake all the time. That explains the wakelocks your phone is getting, plus coupled the fact that there are some background apps syncing continuously. That's one of the causes on your drains.

Hey
I never have data on thoe. I've been home so wifi has been on. I only usw data if I'm at work on shift etc and I've not worked for over two months. I do have Google syncing and whatsapp always stays on even when I turn it off it comes on by itself. The rest are off.
Can't understand why it says data is on as I never use it much at all but wifi I use alot yes I admit but I don't leave it running. Anything I can do?
Cheers

well, Is Google syncing really that important to you? You have to bear in mind what is really needed and what is just wanting it.
If Google Sync is not that much important, then you can turn that off. With regards to Wifi, you can also change that to sleep mode (settings> wifi settings/advanced/wifi sleep policy)
Wifi is a big battery drainer in every aspects as well and like I've said before.. if you don't necessarily need to connect to the internet.. then turn your WIFI off and 3G mobile data OFF. Just enable it when you like to use it and turn it off after your done using it.

Thanks for the tips but yeh I do not leave data or wifi on. Mainly use wifi so I'm sure that's part of it. I could leave Google sync off and maybe just refresh it every week or so instead of leaving it running. Just thought it was easier incase I add contacts etc. I will just turn it off. My whatapp stays on even when I turn syncing off. I don't think the app works without keeping it synced.
Cheers

keep the Whatapp sync (If that's the app you really need all the time) sync and the rest off-sync.
Reset your phone and observe it again.
Hey everyone.
The battery life on my Ace without using data is brilliant. Even using wifi and playing games etc it can last around 2 days.
When data is turned on I can see the battery % counting down when I use Facebook or use the web browser.
This has happened on a number of ROMs I've tried, even stock based ROMs. I tend to use either on demand or smartass cpu settings.
I'm currently using Democracy 3.2 and it's having the same problems.
Has anyone else experienced this or found a way to fix it?

Some apps that have internet permissions connect every now and then. With data on, battery will drain:
-when transferring data
-when switching edge, 3g and h
-when establishing data connection if it is ever lost.
If you got lots of apps transferring data, it can be solved by installing a firewall on a rooted phone (like droidwall).
The other thing is bad network coverage, which cannot be solved (switching too often or reestablishing data connection frecuently).
Edit: either way, data is a major battery hog when actively browsing (facebook, talpatalk, browser)
If using wifi isn't an option, some users report better battery life using 2g only
I don't think 2G would be an option for me... I've tried it before and the load speeds are far too slow for a lot of my apps to be usable.
I have noticed that the battery drains a lot when trying to establish H/2G/3G connection. I usually just turn data on only when I need it. Do you think it would be better for the battery to leave data on all day so it doesn't have to reconnect when I ask it to 10 times a day?
It seems to be the Facebook app that drains it most. Email / XDA / Dolphin doesn't impact battery quite as much.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Constantly switching data on/off drains more battery than leaving it on all day cuz it will only use battery when transferring data, and if you're on wifi, wifi has preference.
The switching and establishing of data connection drains more battery than the screen at max brightness.

Wow... That sucks... Is that just for Ace's? My girlfriends HTC Sensation doesn't seem to be affected by switching data on/off a few dozen times a day.
I'll give it a try today. Data is on all day and I'll see if I can squeeze a bit more juice out of it. I've also installed droidwall so that everything gets wifi access but only the stuff I use gets data access.
Thanks for your suggestions, I'll let you know how it goes :victory:
I've given it a try.
Previously I'd turn data on/off when I needed it and it would use 5-10% battery establishing connection and transferring data.
With data on all day I lost 5% in the morning establishing connection but after the transferring data throughout the day impacted the battery far less. I think it really helped that I had droidwall so there wasn't anything downloading in the background that I didn't want to. I got home at night and still had around 70% battery left.
Thanks for your help and advice guys :victory:

Turning data on/off a few times again I'd get about a day if I was lucky.
My phone has been on for a little over 24 hours with data on and it's on 80% right now... I've only really used 3G a couple of times but I'm not a particularly heavy user. It spends a lot of it's time locked and a asleep.
I have problem with my s3 mini.
I used stock ROM. it's still official without any root or something.
My baseband is DXAMB1.
My problem is, when I start my phone, the battery life up to 18 hours. But after 70-80 hours up time, the battery suddenly really sucks.
it just about 9-10 hours a day. For example (I forgot to screen capture), I charged my phone and full at 11 pm and then in the morning (6 am) it says my battery 50%. When I look at the battery status it says Android OS stay awakes for 6 hours.
After I restart my phone, it back to normal. When I woke up, it says 80% battery and Android OS stay awakes for 1 hours.
Everytime my battery life become sucks, I need to restart the phone.
Is anybody have the some problem with me? And how to fix this?
It just sucks that I have to restart my phone every 3 days.

I was pretty curious about this option too, some time ago, so I googled it and finally came to the opinion that it is like using a task manager, = useless on Android, because it has its own RAM manager.
This option to limit process is what it is: for developers, to test how their eventual app handle once it goes in background, and what if once killed. (read http://www.extremetech.com/computing/112013-how-multitasking-works-on-android-and-ios/2)
My personal advice/choice for a longer life for your battery:
1 - root your device and freeze/delete bloatware (system apps: first freeze them, see how it goes, then, delete them (after making a backup)
2 - use
A) Juice Defender (balanced or aggressive), set 2g connection when the device is in your pocket,
B) Use Wakelock Detector to check what most consumes your battery (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en)
3 - use wifi and 3g only when needed, - don't count on the smartness of automatic mode 2g/3g under data
4 - switch off syncronization if you don't need it 24h (whatsapp / viber will work anyway)
5 - settings / display /
A) Auto adjust display tone ON
B) Turn off softkeys (I know exactly where 'back' and 'option' keys are..)
6 - Power saving mode ON for screen and cpu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTLTBo2DRQA)
7 - Disable double tap on home button for S-Voice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmU8hXUXNFE)
8 - Keep normally a mid-low brightness level, you can adjust it quickly if needed, can't you?
9 - Disable Auto-update in Google Play (you can update manually)
10 - How To Disable Samsung Push Service and Samsung Ad Utility Services (http://www.eyes4tech.com/2013/03/ho...e-samsung-push-service-and-samsung-ad-utility)
11 - Turn OFF vibration (actually, I like it and I use it for SMS and incoming phone calls)
12 - Set airplane mode when you go to sleep (or just switch it off if you don't count on it for morning alarm or to use it as an eventual light)
13 - Never use a Task manager
Assuming you're enough smart for keeping Bluetooth OFF if you don't need it, by this way, according to my daily use (phone calls, texting, internet, no gaming), I recharge it each 1d 15/22 hrs.
Hopefully this helps. :cyclops:
