DISCLAIMER: USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
First of all, thanks to DoomLord for helping me to learn how compile kernels in the XZ. And for the toolchains and for everything pretty much.
Secondly, this is the first kernel I've compiled, I haven't modified any files from it so it should be 100% stock. I also haven't had to chance to test it yet, so report if it works, or if it doesn't
I've managed to compile the new kernel for the xz using the latest source from sony
Information:
For stock rom, unlocked bootloader.
Compiled using arm-eabi-linaro-4.6.2.

Installation:
Unlocked bootloader only !!
Install using fastboot:
1. Download and rename boot_new_kernel.img file to boot.img
2. from console type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
3. then: fastboot reboot
Install using recovery (thanks for installer ):
1. Download kernel_wawy.zip
2. Copy zip to sd_card
3. Enter recovery and install kernel_wawy.zip
4. Reboot.

So, is this COMPILED (self-made) or STOCK ROM? I don't think they can be both (unless you have some sort of "keys").
I'm asking because I really want the BRAVIA engine still working.

It's a compiled kernel from stock sources for unlocked bootloader.
I'm confused. Will this help me get root?
Or rather, can you help me out here. I am right now on .434, rooted C6602.
How can i flash 253 and still keep root? Do I use flashtool, and flash everything except the kernel?

No, wait until I upload the version 3 of my stock rom, then flash it through cwm/twrp. Once you have done that, you have to flash kernel, baseband, fota from the ftf using flashtool.
Is a recovery included?

This is only for unlocked bootloader. If you installed the kernel from ftf .253. You don't really need to.

I flashed the kernel but I get a bootloop so i flashed the full tft firmware and now I have updated firm and kernel but there's no way to root it. All methods doesn't work for example fastboot and no recovery of course so I'm stuck I'm thinking about downgrade and root again and try to update

After many hours of work I finally did it. I have firm and kernel updated and root. I don't really know how I made it, after many hours of flashing every zip or ftf on the forum I'm confused and I just want to forget everything now It's better to go out and take a walk.
Thanks for all.

This post will contain N8013 stock kernel and recovery images. For UEALGB these were dumped from a device that was rooted using the "root injection of /system" approach. For UEALH2, they are simply extracted from the Kies dump at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847706 so that you can get a stock kernel or recovery without downloading 1GB of files.
If you flash any of these using Odin, they should not trigger your flash counter. Note that for some reason, flashing these in Heimdall will trigger the counter (unlike Heimdall on most other devices).
Pardon for some ignorance. What should be the steps to follow in order to root from an updated to latest OTA update stock Rom on a 32gb USA version? Do I need to flash the kernel, or just recovery should be ok?

Why don't u ask this in the root thread?
Here is what you should do:
Root Via CWM (method 2 in the root thread)
1. Download and put the superuserzip on your internal memory on your device
2. In odin uncheck auto reboot and load the cwmrecovery tar in the pda slot
3. Start odin
4. Once finished boot directly into clockwork (volume up and power til the samsung screen then let go of power while holding volume up)
5. Use the volume rockers to scroll in clockwork cause its finicky and flash the superuser zip you put on your device.
6. reboot
7. Make sure you have root and touch screen and pen works
8. Download goo manager
9. In goo manager hit menu and hit the install recovery script
10. DONE
Have any problems odin back to a stock image and if things go bad flash entropys triangle away kernel and clear your binary count
Any chance you could update the thread to account for the updated kernel for the N8013, that adds support for exFAT?

I have the Canadian 8010 model, and installed the prerooted firmware that was provided. It didnt flash right the first time but the second time it did. Everything works great and Im rooted with CWM. The only thing I noticed is that it says I have the 8013 model now which is probably because of the firmware but its not a big deal.

You can't, but you can flash the entire H2 ODIN image from here (about 1GB):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847706
and not lose your data. You lose root though (which you can get again through the alternate recovery method)

This is just a simple ROM I built with dsixda's Android Kitchen. Saw some people requesting a clean, rooted, stock ROM so I started a poll to gauge interest and it was enough for me have a crack at it. It's not really development but I figured this was the best place to drop it.
It's based on the LT30P_9.1.A.1.141_PL.ftf posted by @Supersonic335. I only rooted and deodexed it.
All the usual blah blah about bricking your device applies. It works fine on my phone so it should work on yours.
Features
* STOCK
* ROOT (Chainfire SuperSU 1.25 & BusyBox 1.21.0)
* DEODEXED
Basic flashing instructions
1. Root with Bin4ry's method(*) Make sure to use v21 or later!
2. install CWM for locked bootloaders.(*)
3. Go to recovery and wipe
4. Flash ROM.
5. Flash kernel (**)
6. Flash CWM & Reboot fix (**)
7. Reboot.
8. Enjoy
(*) skip these steps if you already have CWM recovery or unlocked bootlader.

You lose CWM after the flash because it's not in the kernel image as it is in a custom kernel.
The reboot fix has to do with the ric file which causes reboots when trying to access /system as r/w iirc.
I'm going to be testing a build now which has CWM and the reboot fix integrated and also a different fix for the "missing" wlan driver.

OK, all the sequence again from the beginning.
1. I flash stock 303 rom
2. Rooting it, installing CWM via usb debugging mode.
3. Entering recovery, flashing rom (recovery after flashing rom is still exists, isn`t it?)
4. Then i flash what ? CWM or reboot fix ? I suppose fix, because CWM will be still availiuble!?
So, what for to flash CWM form CWM? If i will lose CWM i still can flash new CWM from installed new .195 rom via debugging mode, isn`t it ? Or i don`t get something at all ? ((
You need to flash both CWM and reboot fix. After reboot CWM will be gone. It is actually in a ramdisk while in recovery. The recovery.tar which holds it is in /system/bin and is flashed over on update. That's why you need to flash it again. You should be able to install it again from. 195 but it's just easier to do it while you're already in recovery. It doesn't matter which of the two you flash first.

Will try to do it today.
Just flashed the rom, CWM and fix, everything passed just great, everything works..., what can i say, i`m happy! Thank you so much for your work.
But one thing, you didn`t make changes in kernel ? It`s strange, because the kernel in this .195 f/w is dated by jule, however this kernel was in old .303 f/w and in the new .195 f/w there must be new kernel dated by september, what do you say ? And i see changed file sysmon.cfg respondable for CPU frequency control and LCD brightness. In the old f/w i was changing values by myself as i want LCD brightness, and i see this file has an another values than in old .303 f/w. Does it you made changed or this was in stock ?

And so far yours has been great (except I switched SuperUser for SuperSU).

I've been using Siyah kernel with rom 3.195 and I'm very satisfied with it.
(There's a report that version 0.2 doesn't work with latest rom (3.223), but I know a user in another forum who says it is working fine for him, so who knows. Either way I'm waiting to see if Gokhanmoral releases kernel 0.3 before I update to rom 3.223).
¿Deodexed?
I've tried to customize the status bar icons with Rom Toolbox, but it complains that this rom is not deodexed (and in fact changing the icons does not work).
But this rom is supposed to be deodexed so, ¿does anybody know why this happens?.

download flashtool, look in post seven in this thread and follow instructions, download this ftf, put ftf in flashtool firmware folder, use flashtool to flash it,try re install drivers, you can find those in flashtool driver folder, try to flash unsecure kernel and than su and busybox following instructions in kernel thread
But i already flashed unsecured kernel do I have to do it again after flashing this update?
I had some problems installing fastboot drivers, bit found a workaround here on xda. No matter what I do I can't get dba shell to work.really want to be fully rooted..

no, for now you can relock your bootloader and upgrade with pc companion, your data will be untouched, later there will be custom roms, when you have root you can always backup your data and apps with titanium and than restore, for now there is no recovery for v but it will be, in recovery you can make nandroid backup of whole system, what you need now is root and than titanium backup
but if i relock bootloader (how do i do that btw?) and upgrade using pc companion. then the kernel would be replaced and i would have to flash the unsecure kernel to obtain root? hence the phone will be fully reset again.

you got it wrong, flashing kernel does not reset you phone, normal update through pc companion does not it either, for relock: relock ftf attached, you need:
1 change extension from zip to ftf
2 earlier in this thread #5 is attached loader.sin for V, you need to change extension from zip to sin
3 replace loader.sin inside relock.ftf with the one for V
4 flash with flashtool
Thank Bin4ry for relock ftf

LT25i_Relock_bootloader_dogsly_test.ftf
Create Flashtool version 0.9.9.0
Not tested (I have no SXV) I had already made the files for relock bootloader SXP, SXU, SX Ion, and they worked.
I decided to flash CM10.1 the newest stable v.
That is what i do:
1Root the phone [latest official firmware updated via update center]
2Installing CWM
3Going in recovery and make factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
4Flashing CM zip
5Flashing Gaps zip
6Pressing "reboot now"
And then the phone goes off and that is all. If i hold the power button for ~3sec it vibrate and nothing more. No booting img no error sign no nothing. Cant go in recovery too.
Does anyone have a solution?
I tried it around 5-6 times - black screen all of them.

Please read the instructions for flashing CM ROMs.
It needs an unlocked bootloader.
Repair your phone using pccompanion, or by flashing a stock ftf with flashtool

AFAIK not. CM uses its own custom kernel (hence the unlocked bootloader) and Doomkernel is for stockbased roms

Thankz,By the way.. i have suggested that i could also flash pre rooted stock and den 201 kernel.. any ideas on that?
@ OP You have Q&A so quit PM me and ask all your questions here
The quick answer is yes - use your recovery to back up your rooted stock ROM. If you don't like CM simply return to your back up - it will still be rooted.
Alternatively, you have an unlocked bootloader - so you can flash Doomlord's kernel immediately after returning to stock (the kernel is insecure meaning you can flash a supersu zip in recovery to get root again).
Doomlord's latest kernels are decent and I can recommend Williams kernel too - as good as stock.
