[Q] Home button does not respond - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I realised that sometimes when I press the home button just slightly bit too high, it would open the camera shortcut from the drawer, and then home button would stop working until I turn off the screen or press back, if I stay in camera and try to press home, the camera would just recognise that I'm trying to focus near the home button corner, but go back to home page.
At first I thought rooting the phone with new Rom and kernel might help, but after rooting yesterday and now using revolution HD 8.1 but it's still happening.
Most of you guys have this problem too?
Some say after 1.29 update shouldnt have that anymore, but then my phone came with 1.29 stock, and had been having this problem since say one.
Any recommendation on this issue??
Cheers
Rockson

It's 1.29.***.13
any kernel version below .13 still has that bug.

Power button won't turn off screen

Hi I recently updated my stock to sense and afterwards have been noticing that the power button on top of the phone won't turn off the screen. I don't think anything is wrong with the power button because I can still long press and get the menu with power down, airplane mode, etc. I don't think its the sense UI either because it didn't start happening until I started downloading and getting rid of apps for my phone. My screen does still time out BTW and if anyone could help me solve this issue that'd be great

I have the same issue. I am running CM 5.0.6 but I think/suspect beautiful widgets may be at play here but I don't have the time to uninstall and test since I have my screen timeout to 1 minute, I just get by.

[Q]

Hi,
I have Galaxy I 9000 and I am having some issues with it. I rooted my Galaxy to CM10 and usually it works fine, but once in while for some reason it seems like the screen is getting pressed on the bottom of the screen - if I have app. in the bottom of the screen it gets open automatically and continuously pressed inside the app. If I press on the home button then the touch is not working at all and the only way to stop this is to press on the right side button (menu button) which close the screen and press it again to reopen it (or reboot).
I tried to understand why it happens and thought that it might be related to the CM10 - so I replaced it with CM9 and had the same issue. Also tried Slim ver. but had the same issue so I guess it is something to do with the mobile it self.
As I wrote it doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen very often.
Any one has any suggestion on how to fix this bug ?
Thanks

As this is happening with all roms you are installing, this is not a bug of the rom. You should flash the stock rom and see if the problem occurs there.. if it doesn't flash the custom rom and check...
if the problem persists in stock rom too then get your mobile checked at a service center.

If you have a screen cover that might be the issue.

This. Check the software version under settings->about-> software infomation. If you're still on 1.28 then wait for the 1.29 update.
Another thing to try is going to Settings->Language & keyboard->HTC Sense input->Advanced->Calibration tool, and then lightly tap the buttons as lightly as possible to make them more responsive.

[Q] Light JB screen off question

I'm currently using cocore 6.2 and Light JB.
I'm very happy and satisfy with the rom but there's one small problem that I've never faced before in any other rom.
When I am surfing the internet, or reading anything, if I didn't touch the screen for 15 seconds, it will turn off itself which is normal.
What I usually do when it turn off I will press the home button immediately and here comes the problem. In any other rom, when I press the home button immediately after the screen automatically turned off, the screen will turn on and back to the screen that i was reading (internet, picture etc.). But while I am using Light JB, when I press the home button, my phone screen will turn on but it will jump back to the homescreen instead of the browser or picture I was reading.
Does anyone face the same problem as me?
I want to know if it's the rom's problem or my rom installation didn't go well.
If it's the rom's problem then I'll just bear with it but if its only me facing this problem I will consider re install the rom.
Thank you very much.

Unresponsive back button HTC GPE

Hi all
I have a stock HTC GPE 4.4.4, with stock recovery, no SU. Phone works fine except for a random problem which has only just started with the phone. When i unlock the phone, the back button doesnt work at all - even if i leave it for a few seconds or more. But, if i tap the home button, the back button will then start to work. I thought initially it may have been the screen lock which i recently put on so i turned that off - no cigar. Im stumped as to why its happening just! Im hoping the official GPE update will fix it but not sure...
Thanks
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds to me like the capacitive buttons are starting to go bad on your phone. If you think it's the software, back everything up and do a factory reset and see if that resolves the issue. Also, I'm curious, does the back button work in recovery?
Yep works fine in recovery. In fact, its working again right now. It only ever happens when the phone has been locked for a period of time. Once unlocked, it occasionally doesnt work unless i hit the home button. Also, the search bar in chrome fails to bring up the keyboard as well.
Im pretty sure its software related though. Just wondered of anyone here had same issue
