I like travelling light, so I'm looking for the lightest yet safe way of transporting my NC. I don't have the NC yet and I don't know how heavily I will use it while commuting, but I'm looking for a lightweight case made of fabric or leather. I'm not keen on leatherette, PU leather, silicone, rubber and other similar artificial materials.
Also looking for frames similar to the silicone ones but made of fabric or leather, to protect the nook color if I should drop it. I may pair the frame with a simple padded pouch, preferably made of non-neprene material. Sewing one myself is out of the question as I'm a super slow sewer.
I don't need a case that can be propped up for reading as I've found some e-ereader stands on the net.
TIA.
I'm now corresponding with someone on etsy to find out if I can get a fabric frame made. Leather would be good too, though I'm not sure how heavy it will be.
Am I the only one around who abhors cheap, smelly plastic stuff?
I just use one of the original nook cases, it sticks out about 1/4" from the top of it but it's a nice leather case and it keeps the screen covered. Lightweight as well. Not much shock protection if you drop it, but then any lightweight natural material case won't offer much shock protection.
I bought this one And i am very pleased with it. It has memory foam inside and an extra pouch on the front that fits my cellphone and id. I found mine on ebay but her is the sellers website.

I'm selling my Sullivan leather easel case for $30.
It's a lightly used black leather cover/stand for Nook Color or Nook Tablet (fits both).
It has a hard cover and backing to protect your tablet and is covered in leather. This cover is great to protect your Nook Color or Nook Tablet when throwing it in a bag while on the go (I personally used it every day on the metro).
It also functions as a landscape easel at 2 angles. The higher angle is great for reading or watching videos. The lower angle is just perfect for typing emails and web browsing.
The cover also has a pocket on the inside which is great for holding a cleaning cloth, SD cards/SD card adapters, or any other small items.
This is a great cover and I am only selling it because I sold my Nook Color.
Has just a few scuffs on the outside from a few months use. Scuffs will probably come out with some leather care products. Will provide pictures if requested.
When purchased, cover will be provided in the original box.
Here is link to the product page on b&n website: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/sullivan-easel-cover/20831319 . It retails for $50. I'm asking $30.
Please pm me if you are interested.
PM sent.
The case is sold and is no longer for sale.
I didn't see the Minisuit Slim Case mentioned anywhere in this forum, so I thought I'd share. It's exactly what I wanted in a case for this tablet, hopefully it lives up to expectations! Ordered today, will share thoughts when it arrives.

This case definitely looks awesome. Will wait on the cheap case I bought to see how it is. If it doesn't suit me I'll def buy this one!
its exactly the same as every other rotating case for the N7 going by the shopped pictures (notice how the flap is magically narrower in the portrait pic?).
anyway, i've got one of the other cases with the exact same design. its a good case, quite sturdy and durable. lacks magnetic locking but it has that elastic thingo to hold it shut. its a two piece case - you can use it with the outer flap case if you're watching movies or needing a stand, or you can detach the inner from the outer for more portable use (ie. gaming, web browsing, etc.).
The aim of this thread is to survey what accessories you decided to use with this awesome tablet. There are other threads which have very detailed reviews and recommendations so let us just keep this simple for easy read. List the accessory, it's function only if not obvious from name, brand, price if you still remember, and where you bought it. Links are good too. If you want to add your .02 for buying then feel free to add them as you wish.
For example:
case : mobo : $14.99 on Amazon
screen protector : bodyguardz : $18.95 on Amazon
stylus : El cheapo from dollar store
If this is a repeat thread, I did not see the original and will delete thread promptly. Thanks.

this is my wife's setup, i got the 5 dollar folio case instead of the TPU a more expensive stylus
I have 2 N7's. For the one I keep in the house I have a "i-blason slim leather portfolio auto wake/sleep stand case" in black, (Amazon $19.99) a sgp steinheil crystal clear screen protector, (Amazon $21.99) and I bought a pack of two stylus from T-Mobile ($19.99)that are also pens, they're really nice.
For the other N7 that I take with me to work, use as a gps, etc...I have the "extact tpu x design hybrid case in black, (Amazon $5.95 with free shipping) crazy on digital clear screen protectors, (Amazon $4.85) and I keep the N7, with the tpu on, in a "Mofi 7 inch zip tablet sleeve",(Amazon $9.99) it's green and has Andy the android on it...love it! I also have a "blurex ultra slim multi view stand case" in black, (Amazon $12.99) I switch back and forth between the tpu case and the blurex on the 2nd N7...depending what I'm out and about doing. I also bought a "belkin" stand for watching movies when I don't want the N7 in a case...the blurex case doesn't have anything around the screen like the i-blason does, it's a completely bare screen except for 6 leather clips on the corners to keep the N7 in place. I bought a pair a skull candy ear buds in red, (T-mobile, $19.99) love those! I think that's all I have for accessories right now for both N7's. I bought 3 stylus (styli?) on Amazon for $1.15, they came in a pack of 3, bought them before I found the ones at t-mobile...prefer the ones from T-Mobile, much more nicer, they are skinnier and the rubber tip is firmer.

a while ago, i bought a prepaid cricket android phone + bluetooth speaker deal from bestbuy for 50 bucks, i sold the phone for 50 bucks on craigslist and got the speaker for almost nothing

since i found the nexus 7 speaker to be kinda weak, this small portable bt speaker is nice to have as long as you don't pay too much for it
The app "volume+ (volume booster) " by Meltus, helps the volume on the N7, like A LOT!

First cheapo-until-something-better-was-available cover: KaysCase S-Line TPU
Nice color options, fits the tablet well. Standard TPU case but I liked the blue color and the simple design.
Primary cover: Official Asus Travel Cover
I actually like it, I just wish it came stock as a smart cover that held itself closed. I added a tiny thin magnet to the front flap so at least I get the smart function. I could probably solve the "doesn't hold itself shut" issue if I cared enough, but it suits for now. I'd like to see the other colors from Asus, especially if they come with a built-in smart cover. I also want to see the Premium Asus case when it's available.
Screen protector: amFilm Premium Screen Protector Film Clear
Basic dry application screen protector. Gets the job done cheaper than some, two pack in case you mess up the installation.
Stylus: Boxwave Evertouch
Feels lightweight and kind of cheap, but the mesh tip glides smoother than any rubber one I've used. Good color options.
OTG Cable: Need to purchase, but I just saw this 4-in-1 connector in another thread, and it looks promising, though a lot more expensive than the <$1 Hong Kong cables.
Gamepad: So far I'm just using my Wiimote/Classic Controller because it's what I've got lying around. Works well enough for emulators.
Skinomi Black Carbon back and sides.
Steinheil SGP Ultra Fine Protector.
Right Angle OTG cable.
Arkon Vehicle/Smooth Desk Surface mount.
CrazyOnDigital Car Adapter (Not here yet).
Future: Pelican 1055, waiting on Otterbox. May get a Gumdrop case if Otterbox is stupid enough not to make a case.

I previously reviewed a keyboard case, and now I might as well review the case that i use the rest of the time when I don't need a keyboard. There's something about the incredible thinness to the Z2 that makes me worry I'll snap it in half, and I can be crazy clumsy . Therefore, I went with a simple silicone sleeve case for some mental assurance.
I choose the Graphgrip case from Poetic. As you can see in the pictures, there is a grid pattern on the backside of the case that gives it a distinctive character. The silicone material adds a slight degree of grip, won't slide around on a table, and attracts a minimal amount of dust. The covered buttons are responsive, no problems there. The edge of the case comes over the screen to give a significant lip for laying the tablet face down. If you need a case for throwing the tablet in a bag, I'd recommend this case. If you need a stand or a cover for the screen, I'd look elsewhere, but for my needs I love this case.
Poetic offers an even thicker case called the Turtle Skin, but I decided to go with the one I got because of the nifty checkerboard pattern.
