capacitive buttons - HTC Desire C

I bought this phone today n its working flawlessly... but I have a question does capacitive buttons light up or not?

No they don't light up

Yeah the Desire C doesn't have a notification LED or capacitive buttons that light up. Before I really liked the the touch buttons that light up on the HTC One S and the Wildfire S but I got used to it.

Not even with cm roms?

no software can install a LED into the capacitive buttons as from what i've heard there isn't one. for me its not really a drawback;think of the buttons as your mouth, you know where it while you are eating, without being illuminated (dumb comparison i know)

[Q] Are there any bugs on the HTC One's touch screen?

I'm getting this phone in a few months time and see whether it is the right phone for me since I'm practically a gamer.
Let me explain this bug. It has been going around since the period of the HTC Hero.
Sometimes whenever you play a game that requires two finger touches, the touch response will glitch for awhile. For example, you move from point A to point B, but the touch screen will try to glitch your touch on point B to point A.
So for those who are using an HTC One, can you check if this bug is in your phone?
Sent from my magic orb. Not kidding.
I also encounter this problem on my 2011 htc phone but only if using custom roms.

My friend's one x is stock and he also faces this problem.

Out of the box the HTC one has HTC gestures enabled which means you will only have two touch points. Switch it off and you will get all ten touch points.
Go to "settings" - "Display, gestures and buttons". Scroll down to "gestures" and untick "HTC gestures"
I dont have that problem on mine if like above said. I turn off HTC gestures.

As in 10 fingers touching the screen?
Sent from my magic orb. Not kidding.
Lates digitizer has the capability to regster 10points unlike the old one limited to only 4

I have no idea what you guys are trying to explain.
The bug is that when two fingers are touching on the screen, both moving, regardless of whether htc gestures is turned on or off, the touch responses will glitch around.
This mostly happens whenever the device is awake from sleep. And of course in-game.

I had the same issue as you but switching of HTC gestures cured it. With HTC gestures on the touch screen seems to get confused (as it will only differentiate two touch points), with it off it has been fine with me (now differentiating between 10 touch points).

[Q] Does HTC logo light up?

Sorry if this is a dumb question and yes I did search this forum.
Anyways, I was wondering if the HTC logo button lights up with the capacitive buttons when pressed. I'm am debating getting this phone, but to do so I would do the mod letting the HTC logo be the menu button. If I did this though, it would really bug me a lot if the HTC logo doesn't light up but the Home and Back buttons do.
No the logo does not light up. It's just shiny.

Thanks ^.
is there any way to cut off the capacitive buttons so that they don't light up then?

Only if you're rooted. Some time have tweaks that have an option to dim or disable the light. A Viper Rom I heard will be coming soon and will probably have that tweak

As mentioned the HTC logo doesn't light up, but there is custom kernel that will allow HTC logo to act as a capacitive button, rather cool to put phone to sleep and wake by long touch HTC logo

[App] Soft Buttons Lights always on!

New here in the HTC one area so please forgive me if this topic was already covered. Being new to the HTC phone I wasn't liking the soft button lights turning off during the day light so this app basically keeps button backlight always on, as long as the screen is on.
Confirmed working with HTC one. KiNDA

UPDATE: The soft lights turn off on occasion and I have to toggle the power button to turn the light back on. Bug I guess but quick minor temp fix by hitting the button
UPDATE 7-/4/13: According to solid.snake (see quote below), Capacitive Buttons Brightness Works well

It allow to keep the keypad backlight on as long as the screen is on, or it can simply switch the keypad backlight off.

Hi i just got thephonenewand i had a question. My power button doesnt push down like my other phones its more like a light touch. Is that supposed to be like this? Or is the power button supposed to be more elevated. Btw it completely works

Nice username.
Yeah, the One has a very stiff button, so you're going to get almost no tactile feedback when you press it. That's how it's supposed to be. If you don't like it though, there are several mods floating around this forum on ways you can raise its profile (like painting on clear nail polish).
Or just bypass it almost completely and use the modified kernels for slide to wake or double tap to wake. There's also a few other long press options too. At least that way you only use then power button to turn on and off the phone.
There also appear to be options for turning screen off through the eqs, although I haven't been able to get those to work for me. Sweep2wake/sweep2sleep is awesome. Also a great little show off for your non rooted friends!

[Q] keeping capacitive buttons lit?

Is there a way to keep the capacitive buttons lit even in brighter situations? Difficult to see where to press otherwise. Desire a non-rooting solution, please. Thanks.

There's an app in the store. Search capacitive button and it should show up. I uninstalled it because I wanted a widget instead but none has appeared yet.
