Awesome! Right now i cant test it but when i get the chance i will. it does support full nandroid backup doesnt it? The only reason i am still using an older version of cwm recovery is because i really dont like those incremental backups
Gonna Flash it and then reply later

oh...didnt know that...lol. i thought that it only changed format (like using .rar instead of .zip), i didnt knew i could change between incremental or full backups.
Anyway, looking forward to try your recovery. Will report back when its done.
EDIT: Just tried it, it flashed well and made a backup with no problems. havent tried to flash any zip yet because i didnt need to. will report back if i see any bug.
btw it looks awesome and it is very customizable!

Yes! It is indeed a revolutionary kind of recovery. Great jot Phill
Love the updated look and added functionality, especially the option to power off from recovery... I do miss the ability to select the areas I wish to wipe in team win's latest recovery.. but not a deal breaker... everything seems to work well.. no bugs so far..

So... thx to Dj_Steve for the perf v2 rom.
I based my rom off of his ROM and added some of my customization.
ROM features:
launcherpro 0.8.3
flash
reader
updated google apps
updated facebook
updated twitter
mount ro/rw program
quickboot - though only reboot seems to work for now?
bios boot animation
rom is missing a lot of the dell/tmobile apps. especially the wifihotspots app which i hated.
Note: first boot will take a lil while/ Reboots and cold starts will be short after that and will be as long as the boot animation.
more to come in future versions.
To install:
Download attached zip. Extract contents of zip to SDCars\Clockworkmod\backup\
In case you want to go back to your old ROM, do a nandroid backup first.
Do a factory reset from clockworkmod recovery.
Go to the Clockwork Mod Recovery restore menu on and restore the ROM. This is the only way i know how to 'pack' ROMS at the moment.
Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23637011/Slimmed_ROM_v0.1.zip
Good luck flashing!
Let me know if u run into any issues.
Also, i suggest to install the Solar Wind Live Wallpaper. I really like it.
Will try and incorporate it later on.
Link for live wallpaper: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mai.livewallpaper.christmastree
Please let me know if you would like Advanced Launcher instead of Launcher Pro.

Not with your files but I had touch recovery the old one and did the upgrade thru rom manager and I had error couldn't install anything had Status error ( 0 ) and couldn't mount anything had en error saying couldn't open UMS Lunfile, but I flashed your Touch zip and it's working fine now so ppl shouldn't be worried to try it.
Worked for me anyways, Thanks
What you able to do in the latest CWM 6.0 is:
-New Background UI
-Faster Backup & Restore
-And some elements added (only for gnex)
I'm getting "E:Unable to open UMS lunfile (no such file or directory)" on crespo touch recovery when i try mount usb storage. The odd part is it works fine on non touch. On another note the new format is bad for those who use a CWM backup to convert to flashable rom (eg right after an ota).
Other than that they did a cool job on the updated ui.
I flashed 6.0.0.7 with ROM manager. But when I reboot into recovery, it is still showing recovery version as 5.0.2.0.

Something weird happened, after trying the new twrp and now this, I can't restore backups or install kernals, it wont boot, it just reboots into the recovery menu. Anyone know anything about this?

This is awful and weird. I have tried all of the recoveries and I cannot flash a kernel or a backup now. I can flash ROMs and gapps. When I try to flash a kernel it will only boot back to the recovery menu. Then I have to flash the ROM again to get it to boot. It all happened after trying the new jelly bean ROM and trying the new twrp. I made a backup of jb and tried to restore my ics and that's when it happened. I had to wipe all and flash aokp fresh.

If you want the Official TWRP Recovery (now compatible with KK) for your Nexus S just check this link, there will always be the latest TWRP recovery officially out.
For now the latest is: TWRP 2.8.7.0
LINK: https://dl.twrp.me/crespo/
How to flash this? (Recommended way)
- enter in fastboot mode
- plug to your pc
- open a command prompt at the path where fastboot.exe is located
- type: fastboot flash recovery (drag and drop .img file)
- when done, type: fastboot reboot
PS: You now have a custom recovery and you are rooted. Since 2.5.0.0, TWRP roots your phone for you. Just reboot to recovery, and reboot system, if you are not rooted it will prompt you to root, just slide to accept. Let it reboot ,go to the playstore and download SuperSU.
Or if u are rooted:
- download from the playstore: [ROOT]*Rashr - Flash Tool (Playstore) / [ROOT]*Rashr - The mobile Android Flash-Tool (XDA Thread)
- download the latest TWRP.img
- open the app
- select Flash Other Recovery Image
- browse to your downloads folder
- select the TWRP.img file you just downloaded
THANKS to:
Team Win Recovery Project for this awesome custom recovery.
@DsLNeXuS (XDA username) / Ashot Mkrtchyan for the FREE app.

Hi, I have a problem with a nandroid backup done with 2.3.1.0.

Backup done today (successful restore) not work (stuck on boot, google and the lock)
Two question:
Is there a way to understand way stuck on boot?
If I restore /system from backup one (same rom) and /data from the last one is the same as full restore the last?
thanks

Just tried to restore a TWRP backup, said it was successful, reboot to system and all I get is "Fastboot Mode - No boot or recovery img"
I can still boot to recovery (TWRP)....
What should I do??
Here's what I did to fix: After restoring backup I wiped caches and installed ROM over the top. It is booting now. Thank goodness... I really didn't want to have to start over from scratch!!
Sucks that I can't rely on my nandroid backups though. Unless I am missing something.. This bug needs to be fixed!

Hey guys,
I was running CM 10.1.3 and decided to go to Slim Bean 2.1. I followed the instructions, but when I rebooted instead of a clean install, I had all my old apps. Naturally, I went back to recovery and wiped everything again including sdcard and flashed Slim again (from external sd card). However, when I rebooted, again I had everything - old apps, music, photos... As you might imagine after this dirty flash the phone is quite laggy. Please tell me how to make recovery properly wipe the old data.
Any help is appreciated

What recovery are you running? I am going to assume CWM v6.0.3.1...
From main menu;-
Wipe Data/factory rest
Wipe cache partition
From Mounts and Storage menu;-
Format /system
Format /cache
Format /data
Format /sd-card
From Advanced manue;-
Wipe dalvik cache
Now install.
You assume correctly. I had already done that, but I did it again in the order that you described. No difference, I still get all my app, my wallpaper, and all my accounts are still logged on. That is strange. Is there another way to wipe the phone?

Yes, it's very strange. I have done that before, but never with such results. I think I might have to resort to a kdz flash of stock rom, but I'll wait a bit to see if someone comes up with a solution. Nevertheless, I will have to find a solution, because after the last several dirty flashes one on top of the other the phone does not work as it should. It is very laggy and with an even higher battery drain (which was the initial reason for a clean install).

I have to admit that I would look at doing a KDZ reflash to get everything back clean, then CWM and reinstall of the ROM.

too late now to go back to format and reinstall rom. just go in data/app delete everything in there. also in data/dalvic-cache. then if u know from system apps which ones u dont want , go delete them and then find their dalvic-cache in /cache/dalvic-cache.
then go delete from sdcard the folder android. then from sdcard delete every zero and empty folder. last one delete all data/data and reboot. nothing should be left from previous rom. now if u have more leftovers in data/media/obb or data/media/legacy, delete. (dont delete the legacy in storage/emulated...!). about the problem u had. did u choose wipe and selected manually to wipe all those or u chose to format all data ? there must be a choice to format everything. ( dont do it now it will delete everything ). if that doesnt work then fix permissions.
Somehow after several attempts it worked and wiped everything. I am not sure, however, if it works consistently.

I will certainly do that, but I have never used flashtool so far (kdz flasher, as well for that matter), So I just do not have the time to experiment right now, just in case if anything goes wrong. But I will certainly want to try a stock rom again.

In response to a lot of guys for having a flashable stock image of latest android 5.0.1 for mako
...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
- Please flash this zip file like other regular ROMs founded in xda
- To get the flawless flash also this is recommended to use latest Recoveries ( I personally use TWRP )
- First boot will takes more than 10 minutes , so please be patient.
note:
For root access you can use " CF-Auto-Root-mako-occam-nexus4"

This flashable zip overwrites our custom recovery after flashed?
Coz a custom recovery (like TWRP/CWM) prevents me from using a PC,
If these zip flashes also the recovery back to stock, then we cant go back/revert back from Nandroid without a PC..
Just a simple question, but I put mu reasons why.. Heheh.
Thanks by the way for sharing the ROM..

I think it is necessary to remove recovery-from-boot.p from system

this is safe to flash rom even without "recovery-from-boot" but all in all this Rom does not rewrite your current recovery

Works exactly as mentioned and it took me about 9 minutes to reboot and maybe another 10 to do CF root. Good job!
Can I flash a custom kernel over this?

Hi, thank you for this ROM. Can I flash it over CM11 without factory reset? Is the radio module updated too?
i'm getting battery usage data not available when i check the battery status in notifications
Many thanks
Planning on trying the CM12 kangs. This zip will allow me go from CM12 to stock through a simple flash.

plz do wipe cache (or even factory reset if you come from custom rom), every thing is Ok here
Wiped and install, however after one reboot the back/home buttons are missing and the notification bar isn't showing either.
Did a factory reset and still nothing.

I tried the other stock Lollipop floating around and had the same issue. Ended up having to pull the image directly from Google. It's good to go now.
No other mods were flashed.

I had the same issue.
I updated to the latest TWRP, I then factory wiped. cleaned cache, and dalvik.
Then installed this stock rom from scratch with the instructions here and it fixed the issue.
Give it another go...
I am trying to remember the exact details. But this was almost 2 weeks ago, and I might be missing a step?
Hope not...
