So my friend just sold me his atrix hd, claiming he messed it up after he rooted it by deleting the at&t apps and deleting the carrier images from the boot animation (extracted the contents of the boot animation zip and deleted the folders with the at&t images)... he says thats all he did, and now the phone is stuck on the boot animation... What could I do to get it booting again?
EDIT: the phone works... i mean, it boots... just that the boot animation gets stuck and never ends... i can unlock the device (from lockscreen) and even select options... i managed to turn it off even, but u really cant see what your doing cause the boot animation image (the M logo on a black background) never goes away!! so the phone is working, but the boot animation never goes away.... is there a way to, like, delete the boot animation altogether withoug having to do anything complicated? after all, thats all i need at this point... thanks in advanced!

Yes, I replaced 2 images. Names were same.
I think i'll reflash my phone with Odin (to Darkys Rom)
Is it okay or is there easier way?
Unless you know what your doing I`d just flash the theme as is, no offence.
Great theme but the way!!

Well im now flashing my phone with Darkys Resurrection...
the note's initial boot logo is ugly as hell. I'm talking about the one that says "Galaxy Note GT7000" or whatever. Is it possible to change that to something else after rooting?
You need to root your Note and then use an app like ROM Toolbox PRO
After root put the bootanimation zip file in data/media and reboot..voila

I'm not talking about the samsung animated boot screen, but the text that comes before that....rom toolbox can do that? i think what you(sumeshd) are saying is just the animation

Is it possible to install a boot animation I created with this toolbox, or is it just a set of boot animations I can choose from?

Thanks for the reply, but I think you got me wrong; I already made my personal bootanimation but I want to know how to install it from ROM Toolbox Pro as I am on stock ROM and replacing the bootanimation.zip files don't work.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=293IJ_lAB_8
hope it helps
Just rename ur boot animation zip to
bootanimation.zip and check it is a signed zip file by opening it with win RAR
it must show Signed on Right side pane in winRAR
put bootanimation.zip in /system/media
BINGO u are done now just reboot.
ive tried it and diily i do it
lemme know if u hav any problems
Stock ROM guys, stock ROM, we are looking for a way to modify the bootanimation on stock rom.
On custom ROMs it is very easy, we already got that.
Hello,
please help:
I wanted to change only the battery icon on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with ROM 2.3.5 (root version from nightly: Nightly-[3+part]+GT-I9100LKA_XEU_I9100BUKJ3_I9100XEUKH2_I9100BUKI1_I9100BUKJ3) with the UOT Kitchen online Tool.
So I just uploaded the two files
framework-res.apk
and
twframework-res.apk
from my system and got the download: UOT-12-23-12-47-1
which I tried to upload into my phone.
But after this upload I got a bootloop now.
Nothing happens anymore.
What can I do?
Is it possible to revert just this change?
I still have the two apk-files.
I tried to reflash with the above ROM, but odin just waits for the connection ("Setup Connection.."), never get it.
On my Display I have: ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.0.2
Maybe I don't know how to flash a ROM anyway, which menu I have to select?
Thankyou,
frank
EDIT: Was my big mistake, that I forgot the SystemUI.apk as I am in Gingerbread?
Sorry.
I was unable to flash back the 2.3.5 ROM mentioned above, because I pressed Volume up (+Home+On/Off Buttons) instead of Volume down to get to the flash mode.
So silly I am.
At the moment I am flashing the ROM with Odin
No more bootloop.
Still I don't know what I made wrong with the kitchen...
You forgot to put in systemui, it tells you to put it in
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Yes I just thought of it. I mixed it up.
I am trying again now...
Yes, exactly. With the new attempt, with UOT-12-23-14-39-3 all went fine.
It works now.
Thankyo

I used the method in this thread along with the boot animation that was attached and it successfully changed. I know it's probably not the boot animation you want, but I know for a fact this method works on a stock i537. Hopefully it helps.

Well, the i537 had a different boot animation with the AT&T logo and a really loud startup sound. The attached file I believe is the stock i9295 boot animation. I wasn't linking to that post for the boot animation, but it is a method of changing the boot animation on stock ROMs that actually works. You should be able to substitute the boot animation with whatever you want and the method should still work.
