I used the method in this thread along with the boot animation that was attached and it successfully changed. I know it's probably not the boot animation you want, but I know for a fact this method works on a stock i537. Hopefully it helps.

Well, the i537 had a different boot animation with the AT&T logo and a really loud startup sound. The attached file I believe is the stock i9295 boot animation. I wasn't linking to that post for the boot animation, but it is a method of changing the boot animation on stock ROMs that actually works. You should be able to substitute the boot animation with whatever you want and the method should still work.

can i install them with fake flash ?
Not sure what fake flash is (rooted my Legend yesterday ) but I guess that fake flash is what Rom Manager does for you?
"Install it like a rom" it says on the page I linked, so I guess it should work. Remember to backup before you try funny stuff!

thanks bro
but I afraid of bricking my phone , maybe this boot animation just work on rodigezstyle Rom
I use the first one on my Legend. Got the "almost stock ROM with root access" from this forum
Just male a backup with ROM manager when You flash from SD.
If it trashes your ROM, just boot in recovery, press volume up+power, and flash update.zip. now clockwork recovery launches and you can restore.

Noob question:
I have installed Azure 1.01 on my Legend.
Can I install these boot animations on top of that, or are they complete roms - will they overwrite Azure?
Cheers.

Alright nice one. Might try them out.
Do you know if I can get them through Rom manager?
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
yes
.
the note's initial boot logo is ugly as hell. I'm talking about the one that says "Galaxy Note GT7000" or whatever. Is it possible to change that to something else after rooting?
You need to root your Note and then use an app like ROM Toolbox PRO
After root put the bootanimation zip file in data/media and reboot..voila

I'm not talking about the samsung animated boot screen, but the text that comes before that....rom toolbox can do that? i think what you(sumeshd) are saying is just the animation

Is it possible to install a boot animation I created with this toolbox, or is it just a set of boot animations I can choose from?

Thanks for the reply, but I think you got me wrong; I already made my personal bootanimation but I want to know how to install it from ROM Toolbox Pro as I am on stock ROM and replacing the bootanimation.zip files don't work.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=293IJ_lAB_8
hope it helps
Just rename ur boot animation zip to
bootanimation.zip and check it is a signed zip file by opening it with win RAR
it must show Signed on Right side pane in winRAR
put bootanimation.zip in /system/media
BINGO u are done now just reboot.
ive tried it and diily i do it
lemme know if u hav any problems
Stock ROM guys, stock ROM, we are looking for a way to modify the bootanimation on stock rom.
On custom ROMs it is very easy, we already got that.
So my friend just sold me his atrix hd, claiming he messed it up after he rooted it by deleting the at&t apps and deleting the carrier images from the boot animation (extracted the contents of the boot animation zip and deleted the folders with the at&t images)... he says thats all he did, and now the phone is stuck on the boot animation... What could I do to get it booting again?
EDIT: the phone works... i mean, it boots... just that the boot animation gets stuck and never ends... i can unlock the device (from lockscreen) and even select options... i managed to turn it off even, but u really cant see what your doing cause the boot animation image (the M logo on a black background) never goes away!! so the phone is working, but the boot animation never goes away.... is there a way to, like, delete the boot animation altogether withoug having to do anything complicated? after all, thats all i need at this point... thanks in advanced!

Not quite sure if it is for CM12? Or for CM11 after coming back from CM12?
Please explain whether it is for CM11 or CM12, and what it does?

There's a glitch on the latest CM 12 nightly that makes the splash screen glitchy as hell. The .zip patches the splash screen and makes it normal again.
So, this works on CM12 to fix that. Can this be used to flash any other logo.bin or just the stock one?
I ask this because there are people running into hardbrick trying to flash a different boot logo on CM12.

this is different from stock one although looks same . at code level stock one is almost 9 mbs and this one 364 kb .
if u ever installed cm12 or color Os (which causes red logo) using command flash logo logo.bin will brick ur devices.
so this is only fix .

glitch will be fixed or may have been fix . but people who just installed cm12 for testing and went back 2 cm11 remained with this glitch , so this zip can fix that too
OK. Thanks for clearing that up.
Do you have any idea as to why we are not able to flash a different Logo.bin on CM12, when they use to work fine with CM11. Did something change in Lollipop?
thanks
This worked fine...

Worked perfect. I'm a little OCD, and the chopped off text was grating on me. Thanks!
Thanks a lot. It works for the latest builds, but i have to flash this every time I update those nightly build. Is there anyway to fix this completely?
