Thnx for the answers.
I'll need my phone this 2 days, so i''l root my phone back again Wednesday or Thursday and install Triangle Away, en flash then the original ROM again,,
Read some, learn some.
Triangle away won't make your csc:unknown "problem" go away.
Reset the binary count won't make your device take kies or ota updates neither.
What do you want to achieve here? Back to unrooted stock or what?

I have just fix my csc met the Galaxy S3 Mini Toolkit (donated version).
- Root my phone with toolkit
- Download CSC Select for Galaxy S3 (mini) from Play Store
- Reflash DBT Stock ROM so i was original, but when in download mode i see that my counter just on 1 and not at no/0
(for garantee).
So i'll root my phone back one of the days, just get triangle away to reset the counter enad reflash the originale stock rom DBT.
Then my phone is with a good CSC, counter on 0, no root (no need it), KIES just working and my garantee is not gone.

Please help me. Please..explain me.. my device says custom binary download yes (1) and the following two say: custom binary: Samsung Official and system status: Official. Does custom binary download yes (1) show that someone modified my device? It is bought as new from store. It's i 9305 Samsung S3 4G. One more thing..it has some Vodafone applications on it.. we don't have Vodafone in my country. If Vodafone were messing with the phone adding apps and stuff does that changes to "Custom Binary Download Yes (1)" but the phone still has the official Samsung software??
I'm asking because I can't upgrade the phone to 4.3. I't still 4.1.2. I received official update but can't be installed. It downloads completely and when installing it gets interrupted at 27% of installing with the message try kies or PC to install your update, but then another problem...my two PCs don't recognize my device. Please help. Thank you.
I tried to root my SC-03E but I ended up with increased binary counter
My binary counter now is 10. I tried to root my SC-03E 4.3 but it didn't work. Please help!

I flashed "WIPE_I8190.zip" as pda in odin. Look at this post.
Regarding custom binary download & custom status I dont think there is anything we can do about it for now. Maybe if some developer find out where that info is stored but untill then, if it even happpens, we can only wait :/

Hi,
Yesterday I've rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with Phillz JPLSB prerooted kernel. The problem is that I've used the .md5 version (not the .zip one) and flashed the kernel with Odin.
Now I have the annoying yellow triangle and my counter is setted to 1. I tried using Chainfire's Triangle away, but it asks to boot in special mode and then the mobile model number isn't correctly detected, it shows n7000b and mine is n7000.
I don't want to brick my phone 'cause I've read that if the model isn't correctly detected, using Triangle away may brick the phone.
That's the reason I'm here and asking, can I go ahead and it won't brick the phone? or I must wait for a newer version, of Triangle away by Chainfire? Is there any difference between n7000b and the n7000?
Alternatively, is there another method to get rid of the triangle and reset the counter ?
Details of my Device :
Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000
ROM : Stock 4.1.2 N7000JPLSB_N7000OJPLSA_TMC (Algeria)
Kernel : PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-4.89.4
Thanking you
You know, I've wondered about the flash triangle problem.
Granted, my phone is OUT of warranty, so I never worry about the yellow bang when it boots.
Is there any reason, if out of warranty, to even bother getting rid of the yellow bang, other than
someone that has a bad case of OCD?
It doesn't seem to affect the performance of my phone, so I wonder, unless your device is under
warranty, does it matter if it has the yellow ! showing up on boot?

Hi, I'm here to tell you that Triangle Away didn't brick the phone.
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone could bare with me and help me out with my little issue.
THE ISSUE:
I bought a locked (Vodafone) I9305 for my girlfriend, in hopes that I could then SIM-unlock it as easily as I did with my Galaxy S2;
I understand I need to root my phone before I do that, so...
THE QUESTION:
How do I backup my phone before rooting it, so that I can return it to the exact state it came out of the box?
Also, what's the safest method for rooting it?
And before you guys tell me, I did use the search function, but it only came up with some generic tutorials that don't really go into what I want to do.
Any help would be really appreciated!

To go back to stock use odin, and to search your firmware go to sammobile.com
As for rooting (im not sure), i think if u flash supersu.zip from supersu thread on stock recovery u will get root
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Try CF-Auto root for rooting (using odin) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1959605,
easier and simplest way to root.
After rooting, just do a factory reset and your phone status will stay Normal/Official instead of Modified.
Please note that this is just root and no custom recovery is included
to get back to stock, use Odin too as the C4SCA mentioned above
there are multiple guides on rooting, backing up, and unlocking.

Wait, what? Since when does doing a factory reset on an Android phone takes it back to the original firmware? I've had an HTC One X, and a custom firmware on it, and everytime I do a factory reset, it just deletes the files, it doesn't change the software at all. Am I missing something here? Is it different with the Galaxy S3 I9305?
Ok so, sorry for double posting, but I think I'm getting somewhere.
Since I only need root to unlock the phone, once I do root it (I figure I can use this guide?), I should FIRST unlock it and THEN reset the flash counter? And then, in case I need to return the phone back, I'll reset it to factory state (unrooted and locked)...how?
Just need help with this last question please!

Dude, I never said it will change the firmware, it will change the system status under settings --> About phone --> Status to Normal from Modified
This enables to get OTA updates even if the phone is rooted
To answer your last question, you just need to flash the stock firmware ( which is currently on your phone) again using odin

Download odin, install drivers (install kies for example), go to sammobile.com, search the firmware for your device (unzip the download file until u get a tar.md5 file), go to recovery mode, wipe data/factory reset, put the phone in download mode, plug to pc, terminate all tasks linked to kies (in task manager), open odin, click pda, select the tar.md5 file, hit start, wait
Dont touch any settings in odin or u may brick your phone

You will get the KNOX bootloader if you flash this.
YOU CANNOT UNDO THIS, ITS PERMANENT. FLASHING ANYTHING UNOFFICIAL AFTER FLASHING THIS TAR WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY
Just the MK2 FULL stock tar extracted from Kies. Very hard to find online, and only extremely SLOW downloads available, so here it is.
md5 of the Tar: b90c2a1b5b32dca4edc56a3e6a8a3522
Do NOT rename the tar file. Even though it may be convenient to do so, Odin may fail the md5 check for no reason.
(L720VPUEMK2_L720SPTEMK2_L720VPUEMK2_HOME.tar.md5)
This is NOT ROOTED. Its the original TAR file for people who need an Emergency Recovery for their phones, and dont want to wait hours for it to download from slow file hosts.
Mediafire
FileDropper
Instructions:
1. Download tar.md5 from above and download Odin
2. Put phone into download mode (power off, then power button + Volume Down, then volume up when prompted)
3. Open Odin (right click > open as administrator)
4. Load stock tar into the PDA slot
5. Start flashing
6. Grab some popcorn because it will take a while
7. Profit
Danger......Read carefully before flashing.
so if im on stock unrooted mja or mk2 and for any reason i want to flash this file it will cause knox to trip?

You will be alright. You have already upgraded to stock 4.3, so you already have the knox bootloader.
If you flash something unofficial, such as CF autoroot or a different recovery, you will trip the warranty void. The tar file I posted are Official, and will not trip the warranty.

Well you have already voided your warranty then and currently there is no way to get the knox counter back to 0.
If you flash this, you will be going back to full stock, like you would expect. You are safe to do this.

i would assume something is stripped from the MJA and MK2 we get for odin files
kies and ota definately do checks and WIPES better
for some reason the MJA and MK2 i been flashing (stock mja/mk2) on me no root or cust reoovery (knox = 0x0)
those files are not wiping like they should
why are we always having to do wipes 2 and 3x like alot of these instructions say????
something not right
anyhow yea usually i would think just odin over a stock and everything ok.
knox is wierd and i dont know alot about.
people are talking about OTA and KIES screwing their phones up
i see alot of diff stuff being posted and its moving fast.
why are we still having problems with rooting?
isnt cf-auto-root working 100% now for mja and mk2?
are both twrp and cwmr/philz working 100% as far as functioning correctly and not messing anything up in the rom or firmware they go on top of or happen to install with?
seems like alot of people in those channels/forums dont like talking about it to much.
i thin what i will do is stick with stock firmwares (rooted) and then disable the hands free activation and the android system update
then i will just keep those roms to restore to in case it gets bad

Sorry I don't understand. Who's having trouble rooting? And that wipe 2 or 3 times stuff is bs. You only have to wipe once. As for the other stuff I don't know. All I know is my phone has worked fine and has never bricked. I don't use KIES either though and mostly run aosp roms.

i can verify the wiping/erasing from installing that mja or mk2 is not doing what it usually did with other fully stock rom
i think this phone has 2 firmwares and when you mod one the other one boots the next boot that is why you have to wipe it there too
there is DEFINATELY some double booting going on here
that is also why you tell cf-auto-root, twrp and cwmr NOT to reboot
pull battery and boot directly into recovery
i have had to do 2 and 3 wipes and its not just that
i was on mk2 firmware and i downflashed the modem to mdc
i had to reboot at desktop to get it to show in "about" settings
i then flashed the mk2 firmware (stock 2GB) and when i got in ui AGAIN it still showing MDC.....WTF???
ok so i boot into android recovery and wipe again and reboot and its now MK2
sometimes i just reboot and it will show it next time
its not just there either.
settings in ##3424# and *#9090# are also not getting erased with new official rom installs
really wierd stuff
yea i prob only used kies once in mylife and that was just to test it
usually im on CMnightly whatever is the latest
im not new and i most likely above avg on phone stuff
this KNOX stuff is wierd
even if you do an OTA the phone resets 2x during the install process and i think even with odin too

I let c.f. auto root reboot itself after odining to mk2 and it worked fine. And why are you mixing and matching firmwares and basebands? Also are you using "official" files or files that some guy with one post puts up? I'd say decide what you want to use and stick with it. Anyway good luck.

Hey man. I wanted to let you know I appreciate the crap out of you doing this. The slow downloads are awful. However, I've flashed this .tar file twice now using 2 different version numbers of Odin and the phone boots up but hangs on the SAMSUNG screen. Not the very first boot screen that says samsung galaxy s4 but the next one that begins with the purple and blue swirl and turns into the samsung logo while the led pulses blue. The phone doesn't freeze per se, it just never moves beyond this screen. Unless it's supposed to take 20-30 minutes, which I doubt is the case. Did I possibly get a bad download?

Not the very first boot screen that says samsung galaxy s4 but the next one that begins with the purple and blue swirl and turns into the samsung logo while the led pulses blue. The phone doesn't freeze per se, it just never moves beyond this screen. Unless it's supposed to take 20-30 minutes, which I doubt is the case. Did I possibly get a bad download?

As with any rom when you first boot up, yes it's supposed to take a while. ("android is upgrading" in disguise maybe?)
Did you do a factory reset before booting up?
Let it do its thing for 10 min at least, and longer than that if you didn't factory reset. If it doesn't boot, then do a factory reset.

Just saw your reply, thank you. That was the one thing I didn't try. Right after I posted that last message I got into recovery (finally after 3 or 4 tries) and did the factory reset and it booted up perfectly! So handy having this file around. Thanks again for uploading.
I'm happy I found this post. I was able to help my friend with his phone. THANKS!

i have been reading over and over if you try to flash an mk2 or mja over a rooted or custom recovery that you can brick the phone?
are you sure odin would flash this when it detects there is a knox = 1 and custum recovery or root?
dont think it is as simple as you say when you are knox = 1 with custum recovery or root.
hope your right. but i dont think so.

Just for reference, I just did this and it worked just fine. I downgraded the modem to MDC and had SACS installed on it, wifi was not working so did this and it works
i dont care about warranty -
its been over 10 minutes and im still on the yellow sprint screen
I understand that if your flash this MK2 tar you'll end up with the knox bootloader. But if someone wanted to get rid of knox, couldn't they just flash the MJA tar then re-root and update to an knox free MK2 firmware that unknownforce provided and you'd be all set?

There is no known method of removing the knox bootloader, to my knowledge.
I have the Tmobile s6. I rooted it using the pingpong method and the king app. I then unrooted when it looked like it could mess with the builtin samsung security. BTw, i do not use s-pay and i never will.
I tried to do a factory reset from the "Settings" and upon reboot i get a message that says "dm-verification failed." How can I get rid of this? I did not install any custom roms.
Im not sure if Samsung Kies is still a thing. If it is, download it to your computer and flash stock from there
Edit: here: http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/

"Smart Switch" is now used from what i just read. What is this dm-verfiy message for? is it caused by root?

It's because of root, odin WILL fix it. I'm not sure it would fix DM verify if knox has been tripped so keep that in mind.
Try a factory reset first. If no luck then odin. Odin stock firmware will not trip knox if the k ox has not been tripped yet.
I had the dm verification failure until I installed firmware using smart switch and that got rid of it !
dm verificaiton
