[Q] OC kernel for stock rom 7.3.1 [rooted]? - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After trying to flash Maromi´s kernel over my rooted stock rom (with 2nd bootloader) I´ve ended up in the blue kindle screen.
(how it was solved on a Win8 64-bit PC without factory cable: HERE )
Now I´d like to know:
- Are there any custom (OC) kernels for the stock rom?
- Is there anyone who could provide an oc kernel (e.g. 1,3 Ghz, 1,3 Ghz UV, 1,4 Ghz, 1,4 Ghz UV,...) and the original one in a flashable zip-format for the 7.3.1 stock rom? In this case I could test the setups.

Maromi's kernel contains the CM10.1 base, meaning Android AOSP only. I don't think anyone will be able to manage an OC kernel for Amazon.

[kernel] Overclocked ICS 3.0.8 kernel v0.1 (for 4430 only) with tun.ko

Hi All,
Here is a first release of my overclocked kernel.
This kernel enables 1.1 - 1.5 Ghz cpu frequencies in cpu governor.
- 1.1 and 1.2 are with Archos stock voltage
- 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 are with a slight increase of voltage: 1.4V instead of 1.388V
Usual disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you fry your tablet with this kernel, I don't recommend overclocking at all.
I'm personally a bit against it but as many are interested, here it is. My tablet is apparently very stable at 1.2. 1.3 works a little but eventually crashes. Without voltage increase, 1.3 crashes very early.
Instructions:
- Flash this kernel in recovery along with your build initramfs
- Enable overclocked frequency with your favorite tool (setcpu, cpu boost, system tuner).
- If overclock crashes your tablet, power off with a long press (more than 10 seconds) on power button, then you can power on again and try lower overclock.
By default, this kernel boots at 1.0 Ghz to avoid any issue. I don't recommend using it on 4460, it won't bring you anything.
I also enabled tun.ko if anyone needs it.
Let me know how it runs for you!

great, i'll test it
I report if it works
btw. what did you change in the sources, did you just added the frequencies ?

Yes, with voltage, and removed 1.2 ghz soc check. See attached diff of all changes.
Bonjour et Merci
Fonctionne a merveille sur archos 80g9 jusqu'a 1200 mhz.
encore merci
what do you mean with: don't use it on 4460??
i thought all g9's have omap 4460 cpu??

nope there are the omap 4430, which runs at 1,0 GHz
and the omap 4460, which runs at 1,5 GHz
for last mentioned overclock to 1,5 GHz doesn't make any sense

Only Turbo models have Omap4460 which runs @1.5GHz by default. Other models use Omap4430- 1.2GHz max
lol, yes
i just woke up
i thought i had a 4460 it is a 4430
Edit:
Did you include a autoroot methode in your kernel???

thank you, so in theory it could go even higher ?
what value defines the volt ?
the 1400000
Code:
+#define OMAP4430_VDD_MPU_OPPNUCLE_UV [B]1400000[/B]
or the 0x29 ? :
Code:
VOLT_DATA_DEFINE(OMAP4430_VDD_MPU_OPPNUCLE_UV, 0, OMAP44XX_CONTROL_FUSE_MPU_OPPNITRO, 0xfa, [B]0x29[/B], OMAP_ABB_FAST_OPP),
after flashing this i can't enter sde anymore
when i enter sde i just reboot ?
Edit: working now
i need to hold power button and then select developer then release power button and it boots in developer recovery
wow! working great on my 80 G9! thanks letama
My tablet (archos 101 g9) is unlucky with overclcok, at 1200MHz (standard "hotplug" governor) passes all benchs like antutu, quadrant etc. but after a while, "go launcher ex" is refreshed infinitely. at 1300Mhz passes benchs but launching x-plane (flight simulator game) tablet crashes. maybe in my case is necessary overvolt even at 1200mhz. I usually have luck with the phones overclocking... patience! thank you and sorry for my poor englis
Letama, for tun.ko, do u just copy that to the drive along with zimage and initramfs

No, you should boot Android and copy it to /lib/modules through adb or a root file explorer.

I didn't check this one deeply, but it seems related to tolerance in voltage, I have to look deeper. It seems to play a role in raising tensions, so it could be useful to modify value there.
I did this overclock quickly, I'm out of free time these days, but I'm sure overclock addicts could get better results with fine tuning.
hi, at 1100mhz tablet (archos 101 g9) seems stable, better than nothing thank you again. ciao
First of all thanks for the OC kernel! It works perfect with surdu_petru's first ROM. Unfortunately it does not work with his latest ROM, the deodexed version. The touchscreen does not work at all.
Any thoughts or ideas on that? Will there be an updated version of this kernel?
Thanks in advance!

Can you give me a dmesg quickly after boot ? It could be modules that are not loading or something else.

castagna IT kernel

I tried to install this kernel on my phone with cm9 by ivendor but whenever I install it my phone just shows the samsung logo(Not s plus logo) and then it is just black screen.I tried 2 times with 5.7,once with 6.0 and with biohazard rom which has it but it doesnt work. After it doesnt work I had to flash stock with odin and then I installed cm9 again(did that 5 or 6 times already).I have the s plus with 1.2 ghz that came month before final version but I dont think that is the problem because I can install cm9 and all other roms. Please help,I realyy want this kernel.
I have the same problem with Cranium kernel 2ghz (i want transform my s+ in a smart-frame XDDD).
With another kernel OC ICS ,like vitality kernel (1800mhz but no working camera), has your s+ this problem ?

what is the best overclock kernel

Hello Guys !
My SGS is running with Mackay Rom 4.9.7
With the Mackay Kernel, the device can't handle even -25 mv undervolt - it crashes when i load something CPU heavy.
1.4 , 1.3 , 1.2 , even 1.1 Ghz is not running stable for long load, i tried undervolt and even overvolt for all of this frequencies - it crashes and restarts.
Would you recommend me good kernel for maximum overclock of the device ?
I have searched on Google , but i can't find the information that i want - there is no list for kernels, kernel opinions and recommendations anywhere.

For me the only Kernel that looks stable overclocked (1.2 Ghz) is Semaphore. It's a normal thing for your device to crash on high frequencies. The lack of a cooler makes your CPU hot and in order to prevent damage it crashes. At 1.2 Ghz it should work fine without any crashes (as long as the CPU governor is set ondemand)

I use semaphore with stock volt and 1.2 Ghz SmartassV2 - Noop and it work flawlesly
Ehndroix V + Neo Kernel // CyanAOSP + CyanCore
Using Neo Kernel, probably the best kernel i ever used so far.
It bases on Linaro 4.9, while the most other Kernels sit at 4.7 still.
For Antutu it keeps up at its highest preset: 1.32 GHz (Intelliactive) and I/O: BFQ (Stock). Getting impressive 6059 points.
For daily use i have it at 1.2 GHz, had no crash yet.
The kernel runs butter smooth with Ehndroix V.
The Best Kernel for Gaming is probably the CyanCore Kernel, if you use it with CyanAOSP (comes Stock with CyanCore Kernel) its the smoothest gaming experience so far i had on this device after the Legendary GamerzRom..

[KERNEL] Squadzone's kernel optimized

Hi !
I decided to fix issue with wi-fi error (can't turn on) in squadzone kernel.
I use the driver uploaded by @AriaSatya_M , and now this oc kernel can be used on all stock roms!
From LC3 up to the lastest MK1 (pda version)
Enjoy overclocking !
Note:
Kernel values:
Min. > 112 Mhz
Max. > 1126 Mhz

Is this just the same kernel with the *.ko included, or is the kernel (boot.img) modified as well?

Same kernel + .ko + busybox + Auto SUperuser
what bug?i'm using squadzone's kernel and I haven't noticed a bug just curious
Hey MaDaLiNoSt
Do some searching in XDA and you'll be able to find a thread that shows you how to OC Adreno 200 GPU and improve Snapdragon S1 processors of which we have on the Mini 2!
Via the Internet
stock?
Is it stock only?
Hi all. I am not developing this phone anymore sice I buy a lumia. Other devs could continue with overclocking and building roms, but remember that this phone is an old phone, so do not expect that you will ever install android 5/6 on this mobile.
Request
Can Someone Max the oc value upto 1152 and also explain the procedure to flash this kernel
please
also is it for jenad or jena
can i install it over KSA Rom S6500DJPLD1

Stock ROM OverClock How to?

Hi guys!
Stock ROM OverClock How to?
If you want to stay on stock rom you can install CroPol Kernel to OC CPU up to 1.2 GHz and the GPU up to 729MHz (stock is 400). But keep in mind that your WiFi won't work on Stock.
OC is only possible if the kernel supports it - and stock kernel doesn´t.
CyanogenMod charge eats too much. So I had to use the Stock ROM. Rootl already. I picked up the absurd application of the Samsung phone but still does not work fast. OC Kernel does not work on stock ROM kernel. OC kernel have installed the WiFi does not work. What can I do to speed up the phone?
I'm using Google translation. I hope you understand what I said.
