[Q] Republic Wireless Moto X 299$ off contract

http://gigaom.com/2013/09/19/moto-x-is-coming-to-republic-wireless-for-299-with-5-monthly-plan/
I am not familiar with RW but does it mean I can buy this phone from then just by paying them the 299$ and nothing else? I live in india and IF I wanted this phone can I just buy it for 299$ from them?
It was said that the GSM portion of the phone has been firmware locked . . . was wondering if one could flash the AT&T firmware to this version to enable GSM? We could then get the phone for $299 off contract and unlocked and usable on any network we want. . . . once someone figures out a way to do that

I have that question too. Can its GSM capabilities be unlocked by flashing another firmware? Since it can be used on Sprint, can I pop in a GSM sim like ATnTs into it and use it?
that would be a winner if we could reflash the firmware...lets see what happens

RW has stated it has a sim, which is only used to attach to LTE. The software they're selling it with won't recognize a sim card from, say, ATT or TMobile, but I'm curious (like others above) to see if you can flash a different carrier's rom and regain the sim card functionality.
Even if that option works, RW users would have to flash back and forth to use both services (say RW and another carrier's prepaid service with BYOD), but I'm wondering what they'll do to keep people from saving $300 and running off with the phone after flashing once.
I'm eagerly awaiting the phone's release on RW so someone can look into flashing it.
Agreed!

and this is not related to software or being rooted or not. its hardware related. 801e use the qualcomm mdm8215 modem which is not capable of LTE. You need the 801s/801n with mdm9215 modem to have lte

think i have a i9305 lte..mobile network not found..

I have been given a sg3, the model number is 9305 and the back cover has LTE motif on it so i assume it is the later variant from what i have read, it is running android 4.1.1 but i cant get any updates to it and no sim card will register on on network, i have checked the imei is not black listed so i know its not stolen. I have the yellow triangle on it so i assume something has been done and the is no recovery mode when i press down and home button, i used root checker and it seems to be unrooted.
What i want to do is just get it to a latest stock rom or unbloated google rom and have it in unlocked state as i want to give it to someone.
Not really sure how i should proceed from here..please advise.
Thank you
Is it possible that your S3 LTE comes from another country? If it so then maybe the 3G/4G bands defined are not compatible with the frequencies in your country.

Oh, BTW I forgot: you can download a stock ROM (Samsung) from here (4.1.2 and 4.3):
samsung-updates.com / device/?id=GT-I9305
I tried the stock 4.3 and it drains my battery as crazy so I've ended up with Cyanogenmod (now 4.4.4, nightly) that works great.
And if you look for "modem"|"baseband" I9305 you will also find a list of software modem/basebands to install to your ROM.

De-Brand a G977P, Sprint S10 5G?

Just got the phone, unlocked it, works fine on T-Mobile, but I was wondering if we can debrand this or rebrand to another carrier like most G9xxU phones out there. I know this is a P and probably isn't simple, but has anyone tried yet?

what csc are available on your device/firmware? for example my N976V has VZW and GCF.. i switched to gcf and its basically unbranded.. at least in my case..
problem with the carrier specific models they might have slightly dif capabilities such as network so putting csc on that doesnt go with the device might not work right

How do you unlock the sprint s10 5g to use in another carrier or boost?

really? i assume this was after you unlocked the BL?
No, I cannot get the unlock oem boot loader button to pop up. Unless it was there before I flashed and it was unbeknownst to me opened.

so u took full tmo firmware for a g975u and flashed it to g977p without unlocking the bl or anything?
can u take a pic of ur about phone and software info and post it so i can see what its reading as?
this is very interesting since it would mean that the regular U versions are signed with same keys as the 5g sprint version which is unlockable.
also, did u flash everything? BL AP CP CSC etc?
I flashed the G977tuvs2ash_8_tmb_[www.unlockguy.ca]. I have since paid my sprint bill, refreshed the sprint firmware, and it is good as new, with the OEM unlock button now showing up. You want me to try it again without enabling oem unlock and see what happens?

so g977t firm works on g977p.. interesting..i havent found any firmware yet that works on my n976v except vzw firm lol
Well it has only just been released, and verizon is notorious for their security
So can someone summarize what can be bootloader unlocked? Not sure why there is no thread dedicated for this, maybe it wouldn't be asked 1,000 times over and over.
SM-G977P: Sprint 5G, can be bootloader unlocked like Exynos and other Android phones easily and rooted.
SM-G977T: TMobile 5G....????
SM-G977U: Verizon 5G, not unlockable or flashable?
SM-G977N (Exynos): ?
