I have seen using gsam, betterbatterystats, etc, that my phone have a lot of minutes of wakelocks.
The culprit are media server and audio out 4.
Which apps or process can cause that?
How solve this problem.
Note : I have already uninstalled Google now and maps!

the audio out 4 can happen from the phone playing any sound. Media server has always been a problem for android. If you want the audio out to stop. You need to disable all sound from the front speaker until that is fixed. Media server is kinda the same unless you do a search on XDA for a app that kills media server.
Sometimes it's a cheeky app that causes those processes to pop up every now and then, waking up the phone. Might be best to disable each app you've downloaded until you find the culprit.

Is it possible to leave youtube play in the background ?
Background app or at least tab in a browser that supports flash play in background.
From what i know...
Youtube policy prevents users from playing movies on the non-active tab.
Fash is a resource drainer and letting it run in the background will cause significant lag and battery depletion.

Opera allows you to play a video in the background on a tab. Or you can us an app call stickit (video player, you must use the share function in youtube to make it work). Hope it helps.

Thanks. Works in the background tab. Shuts down once you press the home button. But still better than nothing
Use nextvid on market

I also use NextVid, its free, supports playlists, but I haven't find a way to import an entire YouTube playlist into NextVid, so I had to search for songs manually and create new playlist
A small solution for NextVid

While doing a search on NextVid, search for your own channel name (and / or your playlist name with a space between them).
Then on the search results, press 'Playlists' instead of 'Videos'.
There is your playlist, but a bit missing, because this playlists, as far as i observe, are limited to show only the first 25 videos.
So you must first prepare your playlists 25 by 25 on youtube then search with NextVid.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
Don't know if it's rom related (I would say no) but when I listen to music, sometimes it stops. Just stops, no warning, and clicking on the Play button just restarts it.
I noticed also that music sometimes stops during games, but not the sound effects.
Any idea about this?
I'm on RomAur 2.3.1 with PureXAudio 10.1 if it helps
no one else has this troubleshoot?

Hi all,
I just want to know If somebody else is suffering the issue ?
To make it short, randomly this process is not stopping and running until my device is so hot that makes me aware about this issue.
Also by reading the stats of battery usage, this process is almost 1st and I am not a music listener on my normal daily usage (impossible at my work).
I have tried like everything I know:
Reboot
Kill process
...
Nothing really satisfying and do not know what is causing it ???
Any ideas around there ?

Multimedia process is 2nd place most of the time. and never i use multimedimedia file.
But i do around 18h of usage with 4h screen on.
So i think its a visualization bug because the battery life is pretty good.
Multimedia or media server ? If it is media server/scanner it's probably because of broken image file or music file ( if it is image the broken it won't show in the gallery and you'll see black pic instead). If you have some kind of music/video files you can check them for errors too. If the process is multimedia...
Could be caused by a MKV file stored in the external S.D. Card ?
As default Sony player didn't read it, it perhaps tries to create thumb...
Do you know a workaround to avoid this (if it is the cause) ?
BTW thanks for the hint

Is media server just how audio playback shows? I was just listening to audio all day, like about 7 hours. And I checked battery usage, and mediaserver was showing 70% usage. But the actual audio apps I was using didn't show at all. I thought that might have meant that media server was also how locally played media shows at it is the low level library for the actual playing.

Does anyone know how an app qualifies to be used in conjunction with HS power control enabled via Game Enhancer. For some reason, I can use my banking app under HS power control, but not CinemaPro or Google Duo. This is a great feature to use while video calling, for example, but only certain apps qualify (like Zoom) and not others.
I can't find anything online regarding what qualifies an app, and Sony support wasn't very.... supportive. Anyone have any ideas how this works, and how to modify an app to get it working with HS power control?
All applications who aren't black listed could be added [emoji6]
