Hi all,
I just want to know If somebody else is suffering the issue ?
To make it short, randomly this process is not stopping and running until my device is so hot that makes me aware about this issue.
Also by reading the stats of battery usage, this process is almost 1st and I am not a music listener on my normal daily usage (impossible at my work).
I have tried like everything I know:
Reboot
Kill process
...
Nothing really satisfying and do not know what is causing it ???
Any ideas around there ?

Multimedia process is 2nd place most of the time. and never i use multimedimedia file.
But i do around 18h of usage with 4h screen on.
So i think its a visualization bug because the battery life is pretty good.
Multimedia or media server ? If it is media server/scanner it's probably because of broken image file or music file ( if it is image the broken it won't show in the gallery and you'll see black pic instead). If you have some kind of music/video files you can check them for errors too. If the process is multimedia...
Could be caused by a MKV file stored in the external S.D. Card ?
As default Sony player didn't read it, it perhaps tries to create thumb...
Do you know a workaround to avoid this (if it is the cause) ?
BTW thanks for the hint

Is media server just how audio playback shows? I was just listening to audio all day, like about 7 hours. And I checked battery usage, and mediaserver was showing 70% usage. But the actual audio apps I was using didn't show at all. I thought that might have meant that media server was also how locally played media shows at it is the low level library for the actual playing.

Hey guys I was just wondering if it were possible to modify
the YouTube app or even develop a new one that can gain full access to the website (no more unavailable on mobile devices ) and the ability to turn off the screen while listening to normal music videos (no music stopping ).
I find it annoying to have the screen on while just listening to a normal song which mainly display still pictures

All my music files appear twice. One of them is playable, the other not.
How can i fix this? Its a little bit annoying....
Settings
Apps
All (4th tab)
Media Storage
Clear Data
For me this only works until I reboot my phone, then the duplicates reappear...
Better than nothing, of course!
Thank you. Will try this.

It can take a while for media scanner to finish - how long did you wait before checking?
Not long enough. Now everythings fine. Thank you very much.

That's ok - I spent some time trying to track similar issues down myself; turned out that some of my .mp3 files had bad ID3 tags....
I am using slimics and I haven't only had this problem on this rom, I've had it on a few other ones too. I watch a lot of youtube at night and after watching couple videos about 10mins long my phone (not the app) will just crash and do a full reboot. This only happens when watching videos though. Could someone please tell me what's happening

There isn't enough detail here for a proper diagnosis. I would assume that your ROM doesn't yet have stable video playback and as a result the system reboots itself.
If you like watching video then I would suggest using the CM9.1 RC4.1 ROM by Wayland_ACE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868121
Not only does it have full YouTube and HQ support but it never reboots and has every ICS feature plus Cyanogen mod modifications like power control in the notification drawer, theme chooser, etc.
For optimal performance turn on Kernel Same Page Merging (KSM), purging of assets and zRAM %18 in the performance settings.
Please note that this ROM is missing the livewallpaperpicker.apk and the Googlequicksearchbox.apk meaning that live wallpapers will not work and the Google search app is not in the system. These apps can be side loaded and pushed to the system though.
Please read through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882363 or PM me for more info. If you want I can post the apks and a tutorial for how to install them in this thread.
Since the last couple of days whenever my phone is in lockscreen and I control a music app (walkman, soundcloud), pausing or changing the song does change the song that is being played, but the display stays the same (it gets stuck on the current song). It happens both with headphones plugged in and without and deleting app data/cache doesn't help. Also, no 'smart key' installed. Help would greatly be appreciated!

I had faced this issue earlier in one of my devices. Its because I used to clean the apps by swiping them after long pressing the home key.
While playing music, if i swipe and clear all running apps(including the music app), the music player still works. But if I lock and try to control via lockscreen controls, it wont respond!
So thereafter I never used to swipe it out!
give a try!
Thanks for the reply! It did not really help. Also, not being able to kill applications would not really be a solution for me any other advice?

Edit: I found out that the controls and the display work correctly when the camera is running in the background. I have no idea why though..

Hello.
I've been using an app in my androidphone "Metafy" that shows track and artist on my pebble when using spotify. Since the latest update of Spotify this does not work any more. Any one have the same problem?

Found an alternative app for sending Spotify info to the Pebble music controller that seems to work.
(BTW I'm using galaxy s3 and liquid smooth ROM 4.4.2).
why don't you share what you found as an alternative?
Alternative app
I use Media Utilities. It works with Spotify and Podcast (and possibly more).
The disadvantage is, that it needs notification access to read out the current track/podcast. Additionally the user interface is a little odd and buggy.
But it works and nothing bad has happened yet.
...yay, can't post links as a newbie, but I bet you can find it yourself in the Play store ( com.batescorp.notificationmediacontrols.alpha )

Sorry I forgot to put that in there. It was not a good solution anyways it was a strange app that constantly increased the volume.
Tried Media Utilities as posted above and it works!
It does not show Album though.
In the app I added spotify, and then in settings under Application Integration i checked the marker next to Pebble Watch.
Use Music Boss to fix this, and you'll also gain the best watch app for Pebble as a bonus n
