Your choice. It is a drastic ui change. As in no other ROM can give tablet ui, phablet ui and stock ui with this level of customization.

Paranoid Android 2.54 Installation
Should I assume that Paranoid Android 2.54 requiresan ext4 partition on the sd card?I used Mini Partition Wizard to create one on my 8GB card. After triple wiping, factory reset I just see the boot animation 10+ minutes after flashing...
Any suggestions?

ext3, the script is capable of ext4 but our kernel doesn't use it properly. redo it to ext3 and it will work fine

Add another one...won't say which one lol.
Few issues for you to chew on.
Google play won't accept this as a Salsa, certain apps cannot be installed from Google play/Aptoide/SD card.
I use a banking app which now cannot be installed either by standard or by Root explorer. Same goes for my sat nav app and Endomondo. Please have a go to rectify these. These are not App faults, there ROM faults
I had to remove int2ext as it also caused conflict on app install once running for some reason.
Please add back CM10 Trebuchet, nova is pant's, its a Beta version with no support and limited functions without paying for the latest Version. GPS does work after you reset the config. Did this prior to install.
This is nice to use, UI is really good, quick and nearly all functions work as they should just the minor niggles which i'm sure the porter will gladly fix up.
Also swap out the extremely large keyboard for the smaller cm10 version. it saves more space.
I added Google play/talk ie all the gapps extras to the rom file before flashing and it worked great...saves time!
Did you add the new keyfile i did...No lol i added it and voila...instant use.
Otherwise, nice port....but you may want to fix these problems as they don't exist on the other CM10 versions we have, just this one.

an app called button remapper, there's threads on xda how to use it etc. there's limited functions but for god sake don't wake_lock it. U can Pre warn you. Nandroid backup first...just incase u srew it up.
Or use root explorer and go into the system file and edit yourself. its quick and simple to do.
Follow these steps for an easy change.
You need root explorer and an editor, Root explorer you can come by, editors are available on play free.
Using root explorer navigate to this location.

long press on icong-keypad.kl and edit it with your file editor.Now do this carefully.
on line 1 at the beggining press enter to drop it down a line.

What's the point of this mod when the home button long press already does the same thing.

It works but it gives a few side effects, some menu texts are messed up (for example power button menu) and "long press back button to kill" doesn't work anymore

To have a dedicated button for multitasking is much better than keep pressing the home button.
It makes app-switch easier to open and it's more real ics style since Google created a dedicated button for it on the Galaxy Nexus.
I owned a Galaxy Nexus for a few days and I realized I use app-switcher a lot more if I have a dedicated button.

Does not work on NexusBeam 4.1.0, opens recently open apps, not multitasking.
The intended purpose works fine on AndroidUser00110001's rom, but with a couple little bugs (I think I can live with them)
1) I lose vibration on the capacitive buttons (home, menu, search, back), but vibrations work elsewhere.
2) My shutdown menu looks really weird:

3) And instead of the words "charging" in the lockscreen when a charger is plugged in, it says "emergency number"
I'm guessing it's a rom-specific problem?

Looks like a nifty mod.
I know BrainMaster's Tweaked ICS is basically stock but I would like to confirm that flashing this MOD doesn't have any side effects that other users are reporting. (i.e. Power Menu is not out of order, haptic feedback still works etc.) Obviously the only thing that is removed is the long-press of the search key.
However, this tweak will dramatically change my ICS experience for the better. Long pressing the Home key(2 secs) before this was so painful and long I did not bother to wait. Now it's instantaneous.
Flashed over stock rom and it is showing the old "Recent" menu, not the new ICS multitasking one.
this is a good MOD.

Although most of members of forum are on ICS rom, I am sharing a GB (2.3.7) rom. As you all are aware about the fact i.e at this moment ICS is not that stable. Thanks to all developer and porter who put efforts and give us opportunity to taste ICS. As per "AEOI" JB is more graphics and RAM friendly than ICS... he started to work on JB. RCSET also shared unooficial CM10 version in general section... may be he still working on it. Abenagiel already started to learn and develope CM10 with ArdX source. CK already have kernel for CM10... may elol also can start work around JB. Hope for the best.
Back to point, I am sharing Lewa OS based on abenagiels kernel for GB (2.6.35.7).
Some Charecteristic feature of Lewa OS
1. Smooth
2. Battery friendly
3. Stable ... no random reboot
4. Lots of theme available with MIUI like customization (if you use LEWA HOME launcher)
5. Good GPS connectivity.
6. Volume wake option available and working flawlessly (mainly for those whose power button got jaam)

Flashed this ROM, did not see any google apps expect for google search ???, flashed gapps, cannot still see play store. APN to be manually configured, but I am not able to sign into Gmail (had a back up app)...but able to use the browser. Am I the only one facing this ? Not sure if this a problem with ROM/phone or my service provider (but able to surf internet via browser)
Look and feel is awesome and ROM is very promising. Interface is very smooth, need to get my basic in place (contacts mails logs etc) before I can comment further.

Please uninstall what you have backuped and follow below steps and let me know if it works for you

1. You can install attached app directly,
2. do login
3. make sure you have activated Auto Sync

Not observing this on my handset, softkeys are working (lighting up fine) ....must be once again Huawei 9000 specific issue. Also CAM did not crash for me and opens up instantly...however front cam is not working but does not crashes the app, just reverts to the default back cam visuals. Need to try with ICS cam which worked like a charm on Edo's CM7.

use the gmail app given by vivek. ensure that you turn on Back up and auto sync options in Account

Flashed soft key fix, no effect. And yes, is a typical U9000 bug.

1 ... just try to activate auto sync ... don't no why are giving problem in syncing problem

3.... try to install ICS Camera from market... front camera is working with that...

This is not visual mod or theming and so posted in Android Development section.
As we all are aware there is memory leak issue with JB Roms (may not be experienced in some case), so I decided to play with framework jars and mod them to optimize RAM management.
I had used Advanced Task Killer on JB Rom and problems became grave, I needed to restart device after every hour.
So freeing the RAM in that way didn't work at all.
So, I decided to try reverse and let maximum multitasking take place (ofcourse, with optimal RAM free for launching new activities)
This can be done customizing ADJ parameters.
ICS or JB doesn't read ADJ values from build.prop or local.prop - so they are hardcoded into services.jar!
Moreover, after patching the services.jar for OOM priority... kernel overrides few needed parameters and even init.d wont help in such case.
So, I have created APK file which will do all the dirty work for you

Maximum Overdrive:
As mentioned earlier, it's optimal usage of RAM for maximum multitasking intended to control memory leak.
The ROM experience will get much snappier than before even with too many apps!!
Optimized Framework:
The framework of the ROM is now PNG optimized. This will increase performance as load time should decline.
Fastest ZipAlign:
The normal zipalign option in ROM is slow as it zipaligns all apps everytime.
The method used here is different and it checks new apps if available and zipaligns!
Database Optimization:
The database files are reindexed and vaccumed. This may fasten your overall app experience.

Lot's of tweak for data connection!
SdCard Read Ahead value boost
Dalvik Heap Size limit increased
Least of ads in any app (latest 'hosts')
... and many other minor tweaks...
Caution:
This mod is only for BlackCNA and is under testing.
First flash the CWM and then install the app manually.
First reboot will take little longer time as it will zipalign all apks and fix permissions.
Using this app on other ROM is not recommended as framework needed to be patched.
To uninstall this mod, uninstall the app and you will need to flash the ROM again (without wipe will do.)
Installation:
Make sure you are on BlackCNA v1.2 ROM
Flash the base via CWM and reboot.
Install the "Ninja Mode" apk manually and activate it!
Reboot one time...

I get an error when flashing the PA test. It says installing update..... Set permissions-> some changes failed.

After installing the apk, and clicking on the "Activate Ninjutsu" button, I'm getting the following error - " Ninja mode not correctly installed. Press back to exit". Running Black CNA v1.2.

Running this right now and seems pretty good. No complaints other than no battery % that I can find and no long press back. But hey I'm not complaining. That's what cm based ROMs are for. Seems to be running pretty good so far.

No I plan to keep this mostly stock, I'm really moving away from using CM features especially since I don't use them. Also have you ever noticed that volume wake sometimes does not work ?

I honestly never had an issue with volume wake across the last 4 phones I had and its a feature I use always. But for those wanting extra features just simply get xposed and download a module...
OP wants a clean rom and I get it but if you want add-ons do some homework and go get it since it is out there

Thank you, the volume wake bug was something I saw while reading another thread, but its where you put the device to sleep with the power button then use the rocker to wake it almost immediately = works fine, however if you put it to sleep then wait awhile it does not work.

Ok might of been a user issue because as I said previously an issue I never had at all. Honestly even though you want to keep it all stock its a great feature. With Touch control now though S2W and double tap to wake are even better alternatives

cant say for sure as I have not flashed this as of yet but my guess would be no since its not listed in his features section in the OP... Again there is always xposed

Well there a beta quality build of KitKat in the op this will not be a daily driver until I have a complete source to work with and proper proprietary binaries but good luck and enjoy. Also consider this a nightly project as features will slowly be added.

flashed but not quite working at the moment, it just goes to the bootloader cannot get into recovery
New repack:
- based on stock 1.54.401.5
- load texfat modules (will be enabled later once stable)
- properly use dtb msm kernel image
Hope it boots at least so that we can start fixing up things

yep working now :good: although the ui is tiny (less than one inch on our 5 inch screens) but as you mentioned it's only the start

not quite sure how to take a photo, if I slide to the left it toggles the screen brightness, if I toggle to the right the screen goes blank and restarts the phone

ok I ended up taking a real photo with my 'old' htc one..! (the ui actually looks bigger in the photo haha)
btw if recovery is untouched for 30 seconds it reboots itself not sure if thats normal

Try to disable screen saver: set screen off to disabled and remove it from slide left gesture actions

Did so and still restarts after a minute or two :/
Btw, THANK YOU FOR BUILDING THIS! I've been wanting to throw my phone and claw my eyes out over Twrp the last few days, corrupted my cache and system partitions among other things, fun time to fix it.

idk if this will help you or not, restart happens regardless of touching it. tried doing a backup and later starting aromafm and it restarts. Log is attached ^^
Update fix2:

- enable exfat on external storage (sorry, will need an extra derp on next update)
- fix mount point for external storage
- disable some QCOM display parts
- more stock parts, include selinux permissions
Let me know how it goes. Seems to be a long debugging step by step until we get a dev with a device release a proper device tree or repack from my base

Menu Looks *perfect* now!
Still getting the same random reboots after about 2 minutes in recovery, already tried disabling 'Dim display' and "screen off" to no avail.
Is this working yet?

For me it's not yet, Idk about anyone else. I get about 2 minutes to do whatever I wanna do in recovery before it restarts the phone.. was successfully able to flash a couple small quick things tho.. just not enough time to flash a Rom or do a backup yet.

I need a log
When it reboots by its self, let it go to the rom
Grab all files in /cache/recovery and post them in a zip here.
That way i can see what is happening
