I'm new to the nexus s coming from the evo 4g and on the evo I could remap my volume keys to work as my camera shutter. I was just curious if you could so this on the nexus?

On cm7 based roms yes.

So no one knows if there is a way to modify the key layout ?

The Camera Zoom FX app in the market allows you to configure the volume keys as the shutter.

those are the best and easiest choices, and very easy to use too
I wonder if anyone have moded the stock ICS camera app to use the power/volume button as shooting button. I remembered that people from SII had already done so.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm guessing it would work only with 4.1 and above....
Oh to be politically correct..... I had no hand whatsoever none at all in extracting this or any of the sort... I just copied the link from the nexus 4 forum....

The circular one was for persons, so I think it either focuses twice, or tags the face, or whatever. There usually is a quite normal focus

This works for me (ICS). Mirror 5. Just pushed, set permissions and owner. Photosphere works, as well as the gallery and can view the captured sphere shot.
Camera Hangs
i dont know why the camera hangs after taking pictures
Keyboard working great
But camera pic quality seem not good...I feel CM10 camera quality is better than this
And also hangs on taking pic
Video recording is also hanging like in CM10
Confirm does anyone has also this problem ?
to take next picture, change camera to front cam, then switch again to back cam
Hi. I am wondering what settings you all prefer using with the camera.
I am on normal mode, 9 megapixel (16:9).
Does the ppicture quality get a little better with 12megapixel (4:3)? Don't see any difference..
So what settings are you guys on?

We can't tell you our settings, cause it's a secret!
No... it purely depends on the conditions. We can tell you that for example superior mode is the best, wouldn't it be that you want to take a night shot, then Normal mode HDR would be better.
I'd say play with the settings and you decide.
I use normal mode HDR: off most of the times.
Sometimes burst.

I see. Don't see any difference when changing from many different setting. Only noticeable is changing from 9 mp to 12 mp. That is the format size. My eyes are so bad at noticing any difference what so ever.

Hi there! Does anyone know how to disable the camera sound while taking a picture. Tried to mute ask volume but it doesn't work.
Thanks.

Try search...
Easiest option is to just cover speaker. Other try null rom (I made modded cam, but only works for old firmware)
After the latest update everything is working perfect, but a lost snapchat and the camera sound.
All notification sounds and touch feedback sound are still there.
So I guess there is a way to switch the sound on and off.

Yes, it was figured out how to mute the sounds by a few very bright folks here. There is a tool on here you should try called "search". I know of two threads at least where it's covered in great detail.
I have 4.2.2 rooted. Bootloader locked on AT&T. Is there any way to control the size and Quality for the camera and camcorder?

Not with the stock camera app. You can try a third part app like FV-5 and have several options. The stock app is meant to be bare bones and simple.
