[Q] Unlock Question

I have a Captivate that I am using for a media player (no sim card). Right now I am running REMICS 4.2.
My son-in-law broke his phone and I want to let him use mine but he is on a different carrier.
Do I have to go back to stock or GB in order to unlock? And yes, I have tried the apps and the codes for checking lock/unlock does not work with JB.

I think the app does work on JB gotta input the code while the other SIM card is in the phone.
If I'm wrong, you might need to be on stock GB but doesn't make much sense to me

GalaxSim Unlock app by Spocky from the Play Store. The ability to do the unlock isn't free but should do the job on the JB Rom.
The other unlock app by helroz, u would have to flash back to Stock first then unlock...i think.

There would also be the manual way... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761045 it's not as simple as downloading an app but it's very effective and permanent.

[Q] Bell Atrix HD root available yet?

Hey guys, I tried out the root method posted, and ended up going through the thread. I noticed that everyone asks if the root method works on bell, but noone answers.
Is there a way to root a Bell Atrix HD running 4.1.2?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd love to know if someone here knows why it doesn't work for the Bell version.

I also have a Bell Atrix HD and tried to root using the same procedure but failed many times.

Anyone know where I can download SGH-i957R stock 3.2 honeycomb (Rogers)?
Not on sammobile or samsung-updates

It's there s reason you need the r version? Att will work on your tab.

yes, im having trouble sim unlocking my rogers tab.
I bought it used already unlocked, but when I put a different sim card , it shows locked
When I check lock (*#7465625#) I shows unlocked.
I bought a unlock code but its unsuccessful.
I was hoping downgrading to 3.2 might help but after some reading ,I don't think that will help

Can't seem to find it anywhere on here, can anyone link me to it please?
Don't have a computer by me so I can't sbf back. I just want to flash a stock ROM so everything works before I get it replaced at BestBuy.
Cracked my screen and I went in to get it replaced and the dude said he could hook me up with an S3 instead of a new Atrix. Dope.

[Q] new to rooting

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum as well as new to rooting...I rooted my matrix HD today overall it went pretty smooth..I did have trouble with my 4g but it was just in the APN settings did anyone else have this issue? As the title says im new to rooting and was wondering what apps are must haves? As well as ROMs...and any other tips are welcomed

You'll need to unlock your bootloader to install custom ROMs. As for root apps, there are a lot but to name a few: Root Browser, AdFree, Clean Master, Greenify, Startup Manager, and if you're going to be flashing ROMs, Titanium Backup, I cannot recommend the pro version enough.

Thanks I have safestarp and am running inflikted...any good ROMs you'd reccomend...I have clean master and root explorer to pro....I was not a fan of titanium back up...maybe it was just a bit confusing to me

Don't use safestrap with an unlocked bootloader man. Your setting yourself up for failure. It's mentioned at least a hundred times. Hell even in the title of the safestrap thread.

could someone post a link or instructions on how to uninstall safestrap correctly and get cwm..plz and thanks

Delete what ever partition you created with ss. Then start your phone and go into the app and click uninstall. Then use myth tools to flash cwm.

Hell, I have small fingers and it's an issue. I always have to be very careful selecting "+++Go Back+++" after I tap the wrong option so as not to erase anything like user data.
