I like it, very similar lay out to pulse. The widget is alright. The default feeds to select from are fairly good and also has the ability to link to Google reader. All in all another fairly strong free news app.

I didn't think it was possible but this is better than Pulse. WOW.
Downloaded last night. Nice variety of feeds but the layout, specifically the icons, are not as crisp as the Pulse ones. It's free though so it's a keeper.

That's awesome! Maybe we can port some HTC apps to AOSP, like their camera
Good to know that they're removing their heads from their asses.
This is actually huge. The ability to pull from sense will open so many doors.
I can see a beautiful cyanasense coming and that really tickles my pickles
From what I read on the Engadget article about this, it sounds like it's geared towards app development to compliment/integrate with the Sense environment. The developers will get access to the APIs and whatnot, but I don't think they're open sourcing Sense as a whole, but I may have missed something in my skimming.
Edit: Yup, I was right. Here's the article if anybody wants more details. http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/03/htc-announces-opensense-sdk-and-htcdev-offers-paradise-inside-i/

I saw this yesterday and was really excited, then I realized the same thing that you do. Either way its still good that theyre opening it to the community.
That's a bummer
It seems like they just want developers making apps that tie exclusively into the Sense environment. Not a great idea in my opinion. If only Sense didn't drag the phone to a crawl, I'd like it a lot more!
Why on earth would a developer want to limit their creations to those on sense based phones?
Am I missing something here?

I think it's to integrate apps directly into the Sense environment. For people who like Sense a lot (3.0 is real awesome, just saying), its a good move.

And there's most definitely going to be new apis for enhancing/optimizing apps for senseui.
Bummer. I should have known when they said SDK it was only for app development.
It stinks they're keeping Sense locked down, but I still think this is cool. If the corresponding just onto e bandwagon they could just have it somehow check for Sense, and if so adjust itself to enable extra functionality. Sounds cool to me... might even pull me back towards sense.
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.
Just download a great, completely customizable weather, clock, settings widget. It's only 99 cents on the market right now. Perfect for my ever changing homescreen. So many themes. Give it a look. I added a couple of pics to show some of the colors and sizes.

I assume you're the developer. I could be wrong. I like the appearance of the widgets, are there anything more than the weather/clock widgets?
Thanks
Bought it. It's awesome. The widgets looks very elegant on my xoom's screen. The variety of widget sizes and looks make this one a great buy!
I was lucky enough to beta test this widget and it was a pleasure watching the developers upgrade and fix it over several months. They are quick to resolve issues and I purchased it as soon as it became available on market.
Edit: @ Saintfyre, the main 8x2 widget allows the forcast on right to be switched with a control panel similar to a power control widget. Things like BT, screen rotation, wifi can all be turned on/off. Beyond that, theyre just weather and clock. Its a replacement for Beautiful widgets.
@OP. What is the Theme you are using? And what is the small up arrow in the center of your notification bar?
First app I bought without much research, saw one review and small review at that in a blog, very happy I bought it, very nice widgets.
I decided to pick it up and was beating my head against the wall because I couldn't get the widgets to appear in the Xoom widget menu after long-pressing. Simple reboot takes care of it, for those who scratch their head like I did after configuring one and trying to find out how to place it. I like what I see so far. Thanks devs!

I believe he's either using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or has found a way to run TouchWiz UX on a Xoom. Probably the first one. The arrow would be the shortcut TW has for the mini apps.

Sorry not the developer, just letting people know about the widget that I liked.
Yes, not a theme, I use a galaxy tab 10.1 now, but old habits like this forum die hard.

In your 3rd pic on the top you are using something that has large buttons as folders. What program does that?
Ok, while you're at it, where did you get that wicked Star Trek wallpaper? /drool
The folders are two apps. Desktop visualizer is a free app that lets you take almost any small picture and use it for a launcher button of any app or bookmark. Then you can resize it to whatever dimensions you want. I have that widget working with the app called folder organizer lite. You can put all your apps into different folders. Apply your own icon and resize away. It saves alot of screen area so you don't have 100 apps taking up real estate. I can post some pics if you want to see what it looks like. Both apps are free in the market.
And here is the uss enterprise wallpaper. But you have to use the multipicture live wallpaper (free) in order to get it to display correctly. Honeycomb crops the sh!# out of it.

Under the HD Widgets settings you can add and remove different sizes.
Won't update units from F to C. :crying:
But other than not knowing what 50 degrees F is, the app is awesome.
Edit: rebooted and now it works a charm. A+++
really not one at all???? isn't that like standard to have a album or photo widget
I actually miss the photo widget too. They pulled a lot of widgets I used to use.

Along with system apps I don't want, I usually delete stock widgets as well. Why would you want that crap slowing your phone down? Just place a shortcut to the gallery on your home screen.

I believe you can get a usable htc notes widget on the d3rp rom.
I do miss the tasks widget. I like the htc app, but have to use a gtasks widget now.

IMO, I think they've taken a lot of the widgets that weren't as mainstream as they used to be off. This was all part of the design process to slim down Sense.

I agree and that photo album widget or whatever it is on the lockscreen says you can browse photos but I have yet to accomplish that without unlocking to home page :crying: Kinda useless on the lockscreen in my humble opinion. I guess a developer could tweak it so it could be put on a main screen but then again I don' see any user options either. Uh...
There are a couple in the playstore that are kinda cool. I have been keeping my eye on this one and it looks promising as far as user options and tweaking. It looks like it recently got tweaked for 4.2.2 so it is up to date in that regard. I am going to check it out and see how it runs on 4.1.2.

Ah yes, Photo Grid widget. I used it on AOSP ROM's for a while. just wasn't quite the same though. haven't used it in a while though, maybe some updates did it some good, I'll try it again I guess.
I did try that photo grid and it is pretty cool. It did appear laggy a few times and it did force close a couple of times. Hopefully we can get our phone updated to 4.2.2 and then this will be a great option. Anyways we gave it a try....
Looking for a Flipboard widget that would work more like Blinkfeed, so that there are more stories presented on the screen and we can go directly to one of them, rather than having to open the program and look around for them.
Any suggestions appreciated.
