Tile-based Flipboard widget? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a Flipboard widget that would work more like Blinkfeed, so that there are more stories presented on the screen and we can go directly to one of them, rather than having to open the program and look around for them.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Wizz Widgets

Hey, just wanted to say, found some awesome Widgets for the xoom. Just search wizz Widgets in market. They are very touchwizz esque so.

I downloaded the app and then I went to add the widget but there is nothing there. how do i add them?
Ya, the window ones need you to login first, to do that is to take a scrolling one and click settings to login. Than take your window one, and now it should work

i dont get how we add these widgets also....
i see no where to login and no widgets to add....
Just tried on my iconia Tab works well for the calendar anyway. For some reason though i can't log into twitter though
reboot was required for me...searched everywhere untill I restarted then they popped up like normal under Widgets.
Thanks
Nice widgets, just what I was looking for! Thanks a lot!
a bit buggy but great potential.

Hd widgets

Just download a great, completely customizable weather, clock, settings widget. It's only 99 cents on the market right now. Perfect for my ever changing homescreen. So many themes. Give it a look. I added a couple of pics to show some of the colors and sizes.

I assume you're the developer. I could be wrong. I like the appearance of the widgets, are there anything more than the weather/clock widgets?
Thanks
Bought it. It's awesome. The widgets looks very elegant on my xoom's screen. The variety of widget sizes and looks make this one a great buy!
I was lucky enough to beta test this widget and it was a pleasure watching the developers upgrade and fix it over several months. They are quick to resolve issues and I purchased it as soon as it became available on market.
Edit: @ Saintfyre, the main 8x2 widget allows the forcast on right to be switched with a control panel similar to a power control widget. Things like BT, screen rotation, wifi can all be turned on/off. Beyond that, theyre just weather and clock. Its a replacement for Beautiful widgets.
@OP. What is the Theme you are using? And what is the small up arrow in the center of your notification bar?
First app I bought without much research, saw one review and small review at that in a blog, very happy I bought it, very nice widgets.
I decided to pick it up and was beating my head against the wall because I couldn't get the widgets to appear in the Xoom widget menu after long-pressing. Simple reboot takes care of it, for those who scratch their head like I did after configuring one and trying to find out how to place it. I like what I see so far. Thanks devs!

I believe he's either using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or has found a way to run TouchWiz UX on a Xoom. Probably the first one. The arrow would be the shortcut TW has for the mini apps.

Sorry not the developer, just letting people know about the widget that I liked.
Yes, not a theme, I use a galaxy tab 10.1 now, but old habits like this forum die hard.

In your 3rd pic on the top you are using something that has large buttons as folders. What program does that?
Ok, while you're at it, where did you get that wicked Star Trek wallpaper? /drool
The folders are two apps. Desktop visualizer is a free app that lets you take almost any small picture and use it for a launcher button of any app or bookmark. Then you can resize it to whatever dimensions you want. I have that widget working with the app called folder organizer lite. You can put all your apps into different folders. Apply your own icon and resize away. It saves alot of screen area so you don't have 100 apps taking up real estate. I can post some pics if you want to see what it looks like. Both apps are free in the market.
And here is the uss enterprise wallpaper. But you have to use the multipicture live wallpaper (free) in order to get it to display correctly. Honeycomb crops the sh!# out of it.

Under the HD Widgets settings you can add and remove different sizes.
Won't update units from F to C. :crying:
But other than not knowing what 50 degrees F is, the app is awesome.
Edit: rebooted and now it works a charm. A+++

[Q] where is the mail widget?

Does HTC dump it in Sense 5? I can't see the task and note widget either. What happened?
Besides, it seems difficult to arrange the panels. I can't move the panel anymore.

Mail, Notes and Tasks are in my Apps menu, not sure why you can't find it, what panels are you referring to?

He was referring to the Widgets not the app itself

Yes, I mean the widgets not the app. Can you see the widgets on your side?
For the panel move, I mean I can't switch the position of two panels. say, I want to move the 3rd panel to the 2nd position. I could do it in sense 4 but can't do it now. Kind of weird.
HTC ditched them. I'm using touchdown

Does touchdown supports activesync?
I really don't quite get why HTC would ditch them. This is really not a good change IMHO.

I agree. It's really stupid. Last time they ditched the Calendar widget so I ended up having to use the stock Android one. Now they've brought the Calendar widget back but it's useless.
They have now ditched the mail, tasks and notes widgets which aside from Calendar were my main widgets and they have got rid of the large (full screen) music widget.
There's no logic and no consistency. Sense is rapidly becoming a complete waste of time.

Missing HTC Widgets

Hey guys,
Not sure if I'm the only person to miss some of the widgets I used to have on the One X and other HTC devices before.
The widget I'm missing most is the Messages widget, cause I always used it for my text messages.
Is there a way to get these widgets on the One?

Same here, they were forced to strip down sense by other idiots always calling it bloat. Now a lot of the widgets I used to use are gone just like you I used to use the text messages widget all the time. Mail was another one of my regular widgets.

A lot of what was in Sense 4 and Sense 4+ was unnecessary bloat, at least in my experience. The performance difference when running a de-Sensed ROM or an AOSP ROM, at least on the One XL, was night-and-day compared to a pure Sense ROM - even on 4.1.
Allow me to download Sense widgets in an HTC store or something, but they should be optional installs, at most.
I miss the 4x1 weather clock with the nice graphics. The sense 5 version might be 'lighter' but I rather liked the clouds that looked cloudy rather then tv weather forecast icony.

I miss being able to type one status update to post across Twitter, Fb, etc
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
There are always other apps than can do that in the same way or better than the HTC widget ones and are less intrusive to the battery and perfomance. What I miss is the lock screen animation, I liked it on the One XL, even when It was a battery sucker. ^^
The difference between Sense 4.x and Sense 5 is really awesome, Sense 5 is faster, sleekier and much faster and less battery intensive than Sense 4.x as for now.

You are still able to do this using the BlinkFeed screen. Just pull down the feed to reveal the menu and tap the pen.
But can't update more than one of the three options shown at the same time...

One of these days you'll realize nobody really cares what your "status updates" are.
Facebook is dumb, twitter a little less dumb when used for news and not "OMG you won't believe who I just saw #someonefamous" crap.

[Q] Is there an app similar to blinkfeed?

So I like the concept blinkfeed and having various news sources together. What I don't like is not being able to have control over what news is displayed and having to pick from the few sources that HTC thinks I want.
Is there an app that in concept does the same things but allows me to use any rss feed as a source?
I've played with flipboard a little but it really isn't the same and doesn't seem to give you the same type of feel but with only the items you choose...
MG
Ya silly its called flipboard it's cool!
