[Q] creating a Custom Boot Animation

I would like to do work on making a custom boot animation of my own. However, I am not sure of the process to do such a thing. Can somebody please post a how to?
I have searched here and googled but cant seem to come up with anything. I can only find info on how to install one. Im trying to MAKE my own.

How to install custom rom?

Im able to get root and even rom manager installed. but no otion to install from zip like every other tablet and phone i have. been searching for 8 hours now and cant find anything. its really bugging me as i hate asking for help. even in the CWM recovery they said it didnt work anymore and download links didnt work. even after searching i found nothing on how to install from after being root. all say to boot to recovery. which i am. im lost. any help would be awesome

Do you have any idea which particular ROM you want to flash?
I am using Overcome 4.1 which has a comprehensive install guide, you could start with that as a good introduction to flashing - besides it is an awesome ROM

Thanks after about 3 hours after i posted this i ran across that guilde. i did everything and finally was able to flash HyperDroid_Ad_Hominem_v1.0.0_signed.zip. took me forever to figure it all out but got it up and running. thank you for posting!

[Q] root SGS with CWM v5.1.0.7

I feel silly posting this because I am sure it is going to be a really quick answer but I just want to make sure that I have rooted my phone properly using CWM
Reformatting tweaks and more/ Install root and extras/ Install superuser and busybox (Root)
I selected that and it said "done!" is my phone now rooted???
If not what do I need to do?
I am currently reading this but I don't understand everything so just a response would be great, thank you in advance

OK so after reading carefully my phone is rooted correctly which takes me back to... trying to change my boot screen and not finding the Boot.zip

If you're in a ROM using cwm 5.x, there's a good chance its already rooted.

My apologies I forgot to post here that the issue I had was solved thanks so much you have been a great help I look forward to giving back to the community. I am currently working on a custom MGS1 boot screen, almost done! just need to perfect it the best I can its my first attempt at it.

KIKAT Custom ROM Bad install now boots to a black screen

Hey guys I searched but didnt find anyone else dump like me that didnt install the custom safestrap apk that comes in the packaged zip kitkat rom knoxraid. I was on the very first knoxraid (stock & rooted) also had safestrap installed with the same version number 3.71. so me being an idiot i for some reason decided that I was ok to not install it. after I followed every other step to the t the phone boots only to a black screen with the blue LED on ive waited and waited nothing shows. so i screwed it up. if anyone knows how to fix this let me know thanks. I also did anotehr stupid thing NO BACK UPS AT ALL... im really hating myself I know i didnt hard brick as I can still get to recovery. thanks again guys sorry for bad grammer fast typing at work.

Follow this thread. It happened to me twice so follow these steps that they posted and download all of the required steps. Remember to remove all samsung drivers like kies and samsung USB drivers. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715

my phone bricks after 5 mins into starting it

please help i have a s10+ when i start it after 5 mins it stops reponding i can try to restart it but it will do the same thing can i unroot it or somthing

Expensive phone and you go mess with it.... Do you have twrp install if you do reflash your boot img it should clear magisk

How you rooted without twrp you patched your img and ADB pushed it?

Sounds like you've jumped into the deep end a bit too early... The best option for you is likely to go to your device's forum, here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus
There you can probably find information and guidance on how to root, flash and install stuff to your device. And you'll be able to ask for assistance from other users that have the same device as you (not every device works the same, and that is especially true for Samsung).
A couple of tips for you, going forward:
Do your homework. Read as much as you can about the modifications you're trying to do, and Android modification in general (but remember that things can change fast and a guide you find might be very outdated by the time you read it. The forums are usually the best place for up-to-date info).
Make backups! Always make sure that you have a backup of any important data, and don't store it on the device.
Know how to go back to a working state when you mess up, because mess up you will (everyone does at some point). This tip is of course tied to the first one...
Don't follow some guide or video blindly. Make sure you understand what every step of the process does. That way you won't get stuck like this next time.
