[Q] DSP Manager - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
is there a way to replace the Stock Equalizer with DSP Manger?
And please don't post things like " Install App " it's not only the App to install.
PureXAudio is not the same, It's only working with Walkman app and not Play Music (Google) and I don't like the Sound Quality.

To get DSP working you need to edit the audio_effects.conf file in system/etc plus a few libs.
I suggest you take a CM10.1 zip file from fxp/cm and extract the neccessary libs from the respective folders

I just flashed KingBeatz audio mod from the one XL forums and it worked fine for me besides audio, kernel side sound fixed that though. Try it yourself, nand backup first though. Delete the sound enhancement APK from sony with root uninstaller (Free, market) to force dsp as default.

Thanks guys, I will give both of them a try.
I tried CM10.1 from FXP but the bass is really horrible to compare my Arc with CM9 from FXP.
Then I tried Paranoidandroid it was a bit better then the CM and PureXAudio.
So I hope I find a way to move the lib and config files from my Arc DSP to Z DSP.

i flashed beats audio over squadzones cm7 rc5.7
and it gives dsp manager force close error..
i cant listen to any music because of this...
please tell me how to remove it without reflashing the whole phone...
you can disable dsp manager by this method....
go to /system>>app and rename dspmanager.apk with dspmanager.apk.bac

Thats bad!
Here is a hint from me, maybe you heard from other also.
Before i do anything with my phone where something can go bad like in your case
I DO A BACKUP FOR SAFETY!

Hey mate, open beats audio zip file you will find 3 or 4 subfolders in system folder containing the files that are stored in your handset.
those files in these subfolders, are located in the same place on your phone as were stored in zip file
so remove them one by one, and you will be fine

This method works for me...
But as said by motorazorv3 I also make a backup before flashing anything. That's a very good idea.Coz,If you find any disability with that flashed one you can anytime revert it to your previous one.Always keep it on your mind bro...

hello....i have installed beats audio apk but it give me sometime crackling sound....i dont want to reflash whole frimware so can anyone who know which files are modified by beats.....and than how to put them via flashable zip....or by root explorer.??

DSP Manager

Hi. Is there anyway CM DSP manager can be installed to the stock but rooted JellyBean? I find DSP is much better than the stock equalizer and other equalizer apps cuz it has the virtual stage thing and it works really nice with my buds.
I have DSP manager installed, no root and on JB. I'll send you the file. PM me your email. Or Google it and download it.

I have nothing but bad experiences with Beats audio performance. The audio driver from the Play Store killed my phone, so I really don't want to touch this one. That, and I love DSP manager so much, I can't stand to lose it.
No harm for phone but if you like don't remove the dsp manager nothin will happen just for you know...
Is this mod working for slim rom cm base 4.2.2?

No it dose not appear in the app drawer because it play's with the lib files and audio settings deep inside the system folder sorry things you will notice in my mod is very deep bassy sound with high bad distrotion (typical in all beats audio mods) just use it right hahahaha

Working fine with clear audio+ I manage to install it from sungsonic HD . This mod with clear audio+ sounds great .

It's probably been said already, but if you're going to use this, use it in conjunction with Acid Audio and Clear Audio+.
Together they make for a great user listening experience. It makes me want to root my phone purely just for the sound enhancement.

Try installing Pimp my rom from the play store. There is an option for installing Sony xLoud audio enhancements...
I have pimp my rom installed on my phone, but I never installed xloud enhancements from it...so I am not sure if that works...but atleast, there is an option for installing xLoud audio enhancements...

Thks for solving the problem!
Xloud or beats audio won't download off pimp my Rom as I have tryed it on several phones I think its a sever problem
