Yeah i tried but it didn't let me because I'm a noob and the JellyBlur thread is a dev thread and it didn't let me.
So u have a solution for ultra brightness in JellyBlur, which is an really awesome ROM?

10-post rule. to minimize spam in dev threads.
and i believe op posted in the correct section. dev threads are for bug reports afaik. unfortunately i haven't used that rom. it's not in settings>display>brightness?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Not it is not in settings>display>brightness.Sometimes there are extra cm settings and there should be also display settings.
The ROM is really great.I used minjb which was also good but sometimes it laaged or hung.So I gave up hope for JB on my x8,also ICS were really laagy and I was just ready to go to gingerbread, but then I tried JellyBlur and it worked amazingly fast and stable.
The only bad is the ultra brightness which I used sometimes outside on sunny days.Normal high brightness is not enough
I looked for some apps, like torch and others but it seems that the raised brightness has to be implemented in source
yes. i scanned through the rom thread amd it seems the op did not implement it.
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

yeas he tryed but , but he just answered how to toggle between the brightness modes.
In knew that,in fact I use the power widget in the notification drawer toggle between brightness stepps.
I think he didn't understand what I meant.
I ment the ultra or raised brightness option like in most CM ROM's which would raise brightness over 100%.Sure it would dryn battery faster but east least I would see something on the display on a sunny day. With 100% I have to hide like a vampire
This is from my theard Jelly Blur
t is a pity that the faster you did not write about it because now I have x8 and hard for me to say from memory but maybe this:
Add the widget where there are options to turn on the GPS, WI-FI not so pretty on the right side you see this icon 'light' and finger on the click, and then change the brightness for example,
-automatic,
Half brightness
-low brightness
that's it

Here is something which I stumbled over.
*ultabrightnees is not on the ROM but you can replace the settings.apk from nAa cm10 with the rom settings.apk
This is a comment from another ROM maker http://yairpatch.com/blog/2013/06/zx8-xperia-z-rom-for-xperia-x8/
Did not try that but I think it will solve the problem.

how to increase battery life in cm9.
& how can i fix deep sleep.
plz help.
thanks in advance
Who knows....contact Maclaw.
He doesn't fix it so there is nothing you can do.

I guess it is a basic glitch of battery in CM9 Base itself. Devs are not to be blamed. Try to use something like droid wall to monitor apps which basically give a trick to you everyday and access net from your phone. If possible also try to use batteryextender xda edition from the XDA forums.
Lets see if these help your battery save.

For CM9, Just Flash OOM Priority Changer for battery life. Not that much effect though...
And, flash adrenaline engine for deep sleep
I don't really know if they work. but that's what some users say.

OOM Priority Changer doesn't have anything to do with battery. I think its for better Multitasking or switching apps.

Hello
Can any of you good devs provide a fix for the upside down front camera on voip apps? In the past it was working correctly for me but at some point it turned upside down (i think it was a kernel change OR a skype update). Since then i have trid the following WITHOUT any luck:
-Horizontal calibration
-Enabling screen orientation and trying in landscape mode
-an older version of Skype app
-Different Kernels (3.0 and 3.4)
-Different ROMs (CM9, CM10 and CM10.1) format everything from system to sd-ext in between
front camera is still upside down! i am at a loss here...please help!
ps : In the camera app front cam works just fine

please try reading before posting a reply, i 've already stated on my op that i have tried all these things without any success. I have also searched the whole xda forums and tried numerous other ideas to no avail.
this thread is a request for a fix that doesn't exist not a question, however if you guys feel it's spam you can always report it and let a mod decide.

Exact same thing here, all CM10 ROMs are having this issue.
I have it in GoogleTalk, so a pretty built in application.
Tried these steps, still upside down front camera. Calibration does not show any indication, just sais lay on plane surface, push button. Shouldnt there appear a orientation point in the cross?
I only know that problem from older Windows programs, with the webcam.
There are two ways to fix this problem.
1. Fix it in system
2. Fix it in the app
First of all, the camera needs to run at all, so guess there is many work done, that the camera is running at all.
Then, it may depend on the devs way to fix things, normaly it should be fixed EVERYTHING in system, because fixing every app that might be installed, no way
So there must be some reason, that the devs choosed to let the upside down in VoIP apps be there, because the rest works, in camera apps orientation is fine. Maybe they just dont got the right line, to just change VoIP apps orientation.
So, maybe this will last for a long time though, till Samsung releases new drivers for 4.1.x haha Till then, devs must use what they got, guess they have the best working things found already...

thank you XeLLaR. i doubt it's ROM related though. As stated in OP since i first noticed this i have tried arco's CM9, ivedor's CM10(beta 1-2-3) and xistance's CM10.1. I have also tried with stock kernel, phenomkernel, nexus kernel both 3.0 and 3.4 branches. I did a full wipe between installations

I have no problem with this thread. I suspect a lot of people wouldn't actually notice that CM 10.1 was released especially as the regular CM threads are quite long!
Running CM 10.1 release and it does everything I ask of it. Best feature for me is the customisable quick-settings page. Couple of things I like to have quick access to are screen rotation toggle (I usually have this disabled and then enable it when I specifically need it) and the torch which is uber-useful. You can also pull the quick-settings down without unlocking the phone *and* access it directly simply by pulling down closer to the right hand side of the screen.
My big driver for it was actually bluetooth fixes which aren't in the stock ROM that mean that my car (BMW) won't sync contacts with stock. Again, this works 100% fine in CM 10.1.
Stability, battery etc. are all good. Installation is trivial, but I'd recommend a wipe if coming from stock.
Go for it, I say
Hello
I just flashed Asylum's CM10.2 build and i noticed i'm having terrible screen flicker or sometimes this big black bar blocks the entire top of the browser. It's remarkably annoying. When i scroll, the screen flickers as well. While i can browse, the experience is ruined. I didn't have this problem with 4.2.2. While i could go back to 4.2.2, i would like to know if anyone has this problem or if you had it, how did you fix it? I tried looking for solutions online but no luck.
Thank you very much

This is a known cm10.2 issue and affects all 10.2 roms. Browser and certain apps turn black and flicker etc. You can try chrome, it doesnt flicker at all. Else u might want to switch to 4.2.2 until this issue gets fixed.
Go read the cm10.2 thread in general section. There are fixes there

Didn't really find the fix, but I was triggered by someones remark in that thread.
In Developer Options I had Disable Hardware Overlays untagged. I tagged it, which solved the flicker-issue for me on both Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z.
Not sure if it works for you since I have a Sony instead of a Samsung, but worth a try.
