Are you on Windows 8?
You only need a Fastboot connection.
If you choose in Bootloader -> Fastboot, there's under the H-Boot Information in a red, bold fonnt the word "Fastboot". If it changes to "Fastboot USB", you can try the command on you pc, while its connected to the Pc.
fastboot devices
if there appears one Device, it's almost done. Only thing you now need to do is running the RUU.exe on you Pc and just follow the commands from the exe.

as per my knowledge you can flash custom rom but NOT custom kernel through recovery if you have a locked bootloader
so you can flash those roms which do not require there own specific kernel.

I did check your previous post and the link you asked about is not a version of CWM that will work on the HTC Incredible S. The link you found was for the Motorola Atrix HD and would not work on the IncS.
My signature on this post has a link for 4EXT Touch recovery which I would recommend you take a look at.

OK if you are running the Downgrade script, just answer yes when it asks to make a goldcard. That is what is causing the CID error.

Thanks for hijacking the thread. Your question doesn't have anything to do with the topic in the title.
Anyway, in your case it sounds like you have not prepared your PC correctly. Have you installed the latest HTC drivers? Have you verfied that your phone has ADB Debugging enabled on the phone and the FASTBOOT option disabled in Settings?

Sorry for hijacking the thread . I was trying to avoid creating a separate thread for a thing that could be answered in this thread. Yes latest HTC drivers are installed, ADB debugging is enabled and FASTBOOT is disabled. also i have tried this at least 3-4 times, when i disconnect the phone after waiting for around 10mins it asks do you want to create a gold card, then i connect my phone again and press yes. Once the whole process is done and i try to run RUU it says incorrect CID.
Thanks,
Akshay

The question could have also been asked in the downgrade script thread. Go there, read the instructions, specifically the support section and post the required information.
So how can I fix the problem? I'm new to this forum and I don't know what is the next step for fixing the mess.
When I press the volume down and the power I get
Fastboot
recovery
factory reset
sim lock... (but I cant move through these options)
then SD checking \image pg....
loading failed
then CID incorrect!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot.
What is the procedure to fix this error? I can't even navigate through the options.
Does it have to do with the unlocking the boot loader in htcdev with ncredible S( asia wwe)?

Yes that's normal, the ruu cannot run on an unlocked bootloader so the script automatically locks it.
RUU didnot work, the error is that the mobile is of different version,

Download the RUU.exe.
Assuming you have the correct drivers installed on your pc which can be achieved by downloading and installing HTC sync manager, plug your device into your pc and double click on the RUU.exe file.
*An RUU.exe will wipe your device so you will have to set it up again from scratch when you have finished.

because I bought my device from eBay the the Bayer wasn't told me its dev edition..
I don't know what you mean by "stock" and "regular". The developer edition is basically the same AT&T version, but with unlocked bootloader. It's not irregular.

Pretty sure you don't have a developer edition. If you had red text when booting up the phone, it just means the phone has been tampered with, generally speaking.
If you can get to the bootloader (turn phone off, then hold the volume down button, then press and release the power button), Once you're in the bootloader, look to see if your device says S-Off or S-On. Also, it should say OS-[numbers and dots]. Post what it says there. If you're unable to get into the bootloader, it may be difficult or impossible to recover the device.
this what is showing what i do it.

That should be the RUU you need to run. Put the phone in bootloader mode, select fastboot by pressing power when fastboot is highlighted, plug the phone into the computer, and run this RUU.
This is my educated guess. But if it were my phone, this is what I would do to recover it.

Assuming this RUU is successful, you should be able to immediately update to Android 4.3. Also, the tampered and security warning will likely go away.
If any of this is successful, please hit the thanks button. I hope this works out!
it wasn't successful

I just got my HTC One less than a week ago and today it wanted to update to android software 4.3 I believe. I honestly dont know anymore cause I cant check. I downloaded the update and clicked install. It restarted and now has been stuck at the white HTC logo screen without quietly brilliant. It has been like that for almost 3 hours and actually died completely I plugged it up and let it charge and turned it back on and still stuck on this screen I even tried to factory reset with the power button volume down boot thing. Sorry im not smart with this stuff. When I did factory reset it went to a black screen with a green load logo then went back to this screen. Just made an account to post this someone please help. was afraid of that ..your going to need the kitkat RUU
I'll look for it
your other option is to unlock the bootloader @ htcdev.com
flash custom recovery
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7wls
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-m7wls.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and flash a Rom
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_sprint_3-04-651-2-zip/
To get the file to your phone
TWRP / Advanced / Sideload - swipe to sideload
From PC adb / fastboot folder
you use
adb sideload name-of-rom.zip
make sure the rom is in the same folder as adb / fastboot

So before I do this is it smarter to just take the phone to a Sprint store or best buy where I got it and make them handle it before I unlock the bootlader?

Don't install any mods this time and update via OTA as normal
Make sure your boot loader status is locked and s on
I assume you don't want s-off?

It will install stock with root if you install an OTA you will have to reroot afterwards.
Obviously if you select no to stock recovery you'll stay with TWRP but OTA installs will fail.
One last thing if you ever thought about going s-off do it before you use any OTA updates.
With hboot 1.56 and stock Rom you can s-off with rumrunner for free. If you update to hboot 1.57 the only method is Sunshine and it costs $25 :good:

About the stock recovery, it's normal for it to go to a black screen. After a while it should display an image of a phone with red exclimation. That's normal too.
At this point hold volume up and press the power button to see the recovery menu. Ignore the errors about mount sd card that's also normal

It's totally up to you it depends how you feel about it. If the device still has warranty you will need s-off should you ever want to claim on it. It's also the reason I pointed you to the Stock reset rom rather than the RUU. Because the latest available RUU for your device has a lower firmware version than currently on the device. So you need s-off to use it.
But if your not that bothered then just go ahead and keep the device s-on. It just means that if you update the device and then later need s-off for some reason your only way will be Sunshine which you have to pay for. So i preffer to make people aware of it. But its totally up to you :good:
So I've been communicating with HTC people via their support chat, I know my phones been screwed for a long time but they said they want me to send my phone into the repair center which would cost up to $200, so initially I said no way because my contracts almost up so it's not worth it.
So pretty much when I power down and hold home my screen says:
***Tampered***
***Relocked***
***Security Warning***
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
Hboot- 1.56.0000
My question is how do I fix the re-locked since that's the part they want me to send my phone in for.

only way to get it to say locked instead of relocked is to get s-off on your phone, and for that you need a working rom and also will need to use sunshine s-off tool which will cost $25, but this wont help you as HTC already know you once unlocked your bootloader.
on a different note, why do you need to send your phone to HTC, whats wrong with it ? its nothing to do with the relocked status, I can lock, unlock or relock all of my HTC's in 5 mins, but that would explain why they will charge you for any repairs, shows it was once unlocked and that voids your warranty.

lets get straight to the point, what is wrong with your phone, or what do you want to do to it, does it work now, does it boot etc ?
---------- Post added at 07:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 PM ----------
you have many options, you can post your fastboot getvar all now as it is with relocked status and see if we can find an RUU to flash to your phone
or
you can unlock your phone, flash a custom recovery and then flash a custom rom, choice is yours, but all depends on whats wrong with your phone, why you want to send it to HTC.

My phone refuses to let me go into recovery mode, it just sends me back to the fastboot screen I want to update it, I have the RUU but the problem is since it says re locked it refuses to let me update or reset. I don't want to send it to HTC, their support chat told me to send it to them because it wouldn't let me update. Which was the reason why I wanted to speak to them to see how I could update it.

couple of things first of all, if you have the full RUU for your phone, then it needs to be relocked to flash it, can you post a link to it or the full file name.
if you have a custom recovery on your phone then relocked is why you cant get into recovery, your phone needs to be unlocked to enter anything custom, stock recovery will look like a big red exclamation mark on the phone screen to start with.
you also need to be using M7_WLS Spirit files, GSM files wont work.
now the downside, if you do have a custom recovery on your phone, you wont beable to unlock it, that requires stock recovery, only way to get stock recovery back on there is either flash the correct RUU for your phone (if there is one) or flash the firmware.
can you post your fastboot getvar all without imei and serial number please.

easier way, in your bootloader where you got the other information from, does it say os version at all ?
---------- Post added at 08:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 PM ----------
I'm going to have to go in a min but have a look here: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-sprint/news/ read the manual update instruction on this page and follow them, if your current OS version is a 5.xx.651.x then use the RUU that HTC gave you, again just follow the manual instructions on that page linked above.
if your current os version is already 6.23.651.6 then use the RUU at on that page, the download link is at the bottom, again just follow the manual update instructions.
Your phone will work fine again after either of those.

when you plug your phone into the computer, make sure its says fastboot usb on your phone screen inside the bootloader and then go into device manager on your computer, see if your computer can see your phone, it should say at the top of your device manager - Android Devices - MyHTC, if you have a yellow exclamation mark in there somewhere that says "One" or something like that then you will need to manually force the driver.
