I'm still addressing this issue. I've restored to my back-up and re-followed the instructions. Device whip, restore to factory.. Installing CM 10.1 with gibbs. After it installs, the CyanogenMod Loading screen just hangs. Still searching for an answer.
Victory!
I put the wrong version of the CM10.1 on it. Make sure to double check all files if you are troubleshooting.

i was hoping that someone on this forum, who has the necessary resources can create or direct me to a instructional video of all the steps to root the firmware 1.5 and build crc1 g1 on T mo. I have tried the 1 step root process and all others, but nothing seems to work once i move onto the next process to install custom and themes etc. i looked over several experts videos for doing each step, but the transition from each critical step is left unclear. Like how do i know that everything is properyl installed to move on. and if certain files transferred onto sdcard need to be deleted first, because the next file requires the same update.zip title.
I know the process itself is a learning experience, but experiencee so far has been very limited and would love to have some assistance from someone more knowledgable. i love my g1 and want to continue learning about alll new experiences it may provide.
thanks to anyone that can help

You are on the correct path, just follow this guide step by step and from How-To #2-9, and you should be good to go. Just for your reference but your on How To #2 - at the rainbow screen section. GOod luck
Hello folks!
My name is olddawg, cause I am one!
Love this tablet and see you have ways of making it even better.
Would love to 'give it a go', but I can't seem to get by the first step...
I read the posts, found the ROM I'd like to try and the instructions are pretty thorough, but....
I'll be darned if I see how to back this thing up correctly before I start into any mods...
If I missed the thread, just can't find it or am too blind to see it, please point me that way.

Here's the post that I used....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
follow it to the letter, I installed Vegan-TAB GingerEdition RC1
no need to do the Market fix with RC1 Vegan-TAB GingerEdition for me..
Probably should have gone this way right of the bat, but didn't...
The system has upgraded to 3588 and I don't seem to be loading clockworkmod.
I downloaded and see the install in the left corner, but can't enter it.
Shows booting a recovery kernel and loads normal....
Am i too late for the simple change?
I'm following the guide mentioned above....
Is there something different when updated to 3588?
Hi there,
I am a newbie with android. I followed the following instructions on the serendipity website but after going through steps 1-12, I ended up with my phone in an endless rebooting loop (from Serendipity initial screen to media scanning running, media scanning completed, and the Serendipity initial screen again over and over).
The only step I was not 100% sure was about the ROM.zip file. The big Download link downloads a file named "Serendipity_VII_Build_2.zip" and I really could not find the "ROM.zip". So went to CWM and applied that Serendipity zip file.
Note: I would have posted this to this thread, but xda-developers won't let me post to the developer section. I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem.
Please help, my phone is useless now!.

Did you try the Q&A sticky? Sounds like you either didn't come from stock or you may have missed something in the instructions.
As an update, I noticed that the rebooting problem only happens when I have mi SIM chip inserted....
Does anyone have had the same problem?
Finally got it!! It was my SIM card lock.
Got the answer in another thread.
"I had to go back to the default i9000 2.3.3 GB rom thru odin and the provided files from Mikey & Chance.
Reboot, it ask for the SIM password. Entered. Home screen. Settings. Location and Security. Set up SIM card lock. Unlocked that darn SIM card. Went on with my business. Followed S7 install directions. Working solid with no boot/loop errors.".

Please use the sticky in the future.
Was running moboot .38 with twrp 2.5.0.0 when I decided to flash schizoid 1.25(?) over the march 6th release. Didn't like it so I wiped ROM and restored backup. After reboot, it went straight to schizoid. That's all it will do.
The question is: can I, and how can i put my HP touchpad back to "stock" so that I may use acme installer3 and start from the beginning?

You could try using ACMEUninstaller, but I'm not 100% certain what will happen.
Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20989526
One other thing... I can't turn it off. I keep it charged for Netflix, so I havent had it die yet.

Make sure your TP is chargerd and reboot it using the power and home key button. Once you do that hold down the volume up key and while it plugged into the PC. That will get you into WebOS Recovery so that you can push acmeunistaller then you will have a HP Touchpad with WebOS only were you can reinstall the rom from acmeinstall2 or acmeinstall3. I had the same issuse.
thanks!
After much trial and error, I was able to reset the touchpad and install my fave ROM (schizoid). The instructions in the posted threads weren't that great on details, but the answers I was looking for were found in deep in those threads. Thanks again for all the help!:good

It would be useful if you could say exactly what steps you took to make it easier for anyone else that may experience a similar problem.

First i did all the steps up to the "open Novaterm", since i was having trouble with it(like many other people). After that, i followed the instructions found at the top of page 12 in that thread. this got me to a fresh start so that i could install acmeinstaller3 and any rom. Good Luck.

I would appreciate if someone can post a useful link for me? As I mentioned I cant find good info on it, I think I just keep looking for wrong kind of information...

The same as any other rom, flash with CWM or use ACMEInstaller.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Can I upgrade to 10.1 though? Will I loose all my data and ifnromation on it if I wipe out the system? If I have to wipeout CM 9 tenderloin, and do a fresh install how do I do that? Naturally I want to be able to retain as much information and app installation as possible along the process.
thanks

I used this page to update to 10.1 yesterday. Everything went smoothly, except for the fact that Bluetooth no longer works and the volume buttons are inversed. The July 12 nightly (cm-10.1-20130712-UNOFFICIAL-tenderloin.zip) apparently fixes the volume button problem, but you're going to have to live without Bluetooth in CM10.1.
To update, all you have to do is download two files (cm-10.1-20130712-UNOFFICIAL-tenderloin.zip and gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) to a folder on your SD card. Once you've done this, boot ClockwordMod and select "Install ZIP from SDCard." Find the two zip files, and start by installing the gapps. Once you've done that, install the cm-10.1 zip.
I followed this process last night and was able to save all of my data, albeit there are a few issues with CM10.1 on the TP. But they'll probably fix those in future nightlies.
