This ROM is based on the OTA that t3rabyte received, it's completely stock with root and busybox. This is meant as a flashable version of the dump he posted, so I don't plan on posting mods or fixes for it as I am also posting a custom ROM later based on this that I will do that for.
Also the kernel has been slightly modded to disable secure mode & enable init.d support.
I HIGHLY recommend you factory reset/wipe data before you flash this, even if your coming from the other TouchWiz ROM
The 2 version are:
Calkulin's_GT-P7510_HMJ37.UEKM7_ROM - Stock form
Calkulin's_GT-P7510_HMJ37.UEKM7_De-odex'd_ROM - De-odex'd for theming, mods, etc

Can anyone tell me how I should flash this? I'm running stock, locked bootloader gtab10.1 from staples. Thx. Never rooted tablet before. Not sure if I need to root before flashing this.

The Rom is in .zip so you need CWM in order to install.
Look here or Here For instructions on how to install CWM.
Then download the .zip install it through CWM. The rom is already rooted.
For a locked tab, your only option probably is to flash the clockworkmod recovery through ODIN, instructions are in this that thread

WOW: the keyboard input lag in stock browser is more or less gone!

Hi to all, well a friend of mine gave me a LG Optimus 2X with the Stock rom on it (10d). The phone is very slow at everything. While listening mp3 for example and try to read at the same time my tweets or my mails or trying to open the browser the phone becomes unresponsive for a while. The same goes while on browsing the market! The phone performs worst than any android phone i have ever had!
Any workround? Please help.

So there is nothing wrong with the Phone (with the hardware)? It is Just the stock ROM in it?
Yeah, stock ROM is pretty bad really. You should notice a marked improvement by leaving it.

Agreed. The stock roms for the optimus 2x aren't that great. Try experimenting with rooting and different roms (I recommend topogogi's rom and kernel since those are the most stable at the moment). If you don't know how to do it then ask, there are a lot of people in this forum willing to help the people who are new to this kind of stuff

Yes that's exactly what i did! But for starters i installed modaco's FR19. It seems pretty good and stable so far. Now the phone is really fast! Are Topogigi or CM better than the one i installed?
Use a custom rom now!!

Hi,
in the Development forum you can already find 2 ROMs that are based on JB, namely Slim Bean and Unofficial Cyanogenmod 10. First failed to install for me (rebootet while flashing) [EDIT: I was in fact doing it wrong, works for me now, thanks to b-eock], second had data issues, which can supposedly solved by turning Flight Mode on and off.

You have to flash it twice -_- dont make him think something is wrong with the rom... It has to do with the new kernel and partition layout.

Well, at least that fails for me, unfortunately I can't yet post in the developer board.
However CM10V7 is kind of working for me. To get mobile data connection I had to turn on Flight Mode and Turn it off again. Unfortunately Wechat (formerly Weixin) stopped working, don't know who is to blame in that matter.

Also remember to do a wipe the first time you flash and the second time if it reboots during the initial flash. I made that mistake and had major issues. On the first boot everything that tried to load force closed. It was a simple fix though just went in wiped and re-flashed.
that reminds me, is there necessarily a huge benefit to upgrading OS?
or if not jellybean if someone can also point me towards an OS that runs better than gingerbread o:
I haven't tried anything but Slim Bean as far as jelly bean ROMs go but if you are looking for a good stable build I would stay away from jelly bean for the time being. I say that because its a new OS and hasn't had all the bugs worked out yet at least as far as I've read.
There are several ICS ROMs out there that are available. If you look through the development forums you'll find more than you can read through. The few that I've tried have all been better than gingerbread.

With the EU bug lurking around in the ICS roms, I'd steer clear of ICS on your Cappy until a fix is found, otherwise you risk a potentially permanent nerf of your phone's internal memory. Just sayin'

Hope you are all doing well. Anyway, I rooted yesterday and am running a new kernel (speed mod k13 I believe) anyway. What I am after now, is as the title says, a light, fast rom with decent battery life. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or experiences and could suggest something. Would a CYANOGEN from work? When I had my galaxy s I was using 7 and found it really good. But are there others?

cyanogen will indeed work as will paranoid android charack,s,rocket rom if its lite you want then look for a rom with aroma installer so you can install what you want

Yes, JB referred in the guide are all JB/CM10 based roms.
Check this thread, some one just flashed JB rom using above guide

As long as you are on safe kernel you don't have to worry about anything or to revert back to GB. Just keep flashing rom with full wipes. Its enough for you.....
So, i am trying to back up through CWM on hydracore, it gets soooo close to the end and then says there was an error backing up the data, any ideas on what this is or a remedy for it?
I dont really want to flash a rom without doing the backup... even though in the past, i have done (old phone) is it imperritive to make a backup?

What exactly you want to backup from old rom, apps? If so then use titanium backup. I never backup whole rom as it hardly takes 15-20 minutes to setup rom if you have backup of apps.

Yes, as with any AOKP/ CM9 based rom..
There are alternative apps that could be used.
Otherwise, there are some excellent choices when it comes to Touchwiz-based roms as well.
Some are available themed to the AOKP look, if you prefer.

I have been trying a lot of ROMs in the last weeks however - for me - I have found "danisariandi's" REVELATION HD ROM to be the fastest and most stable one!
I have been using the latest .500L which can still be downloaded in the thread, however, due to different problems which I didnt experience in the previous version RV.12.2.234N I would like to install this version. Unfortunately the developer has vanished due to different reasons. So my question:
Does ANYONE still have the REVELATION HD RV.12.2.234N ZIP!? Or/and can provide a download link!?

If this ROM is based on stock .140 then the newest vkernel (now n kernel) should work.

yes. however with other roms (e.g. xblaster and REVELATION 500L) i had trouble with 1.4.0 and went back to DOOM!

There was no USB-Mass Storage Option, I fixed this by implementing USB-Mass Storage through Titanium Backup which I had backuped from the latest Xblaster Release. It acturally worked.
Then there is no Loudspeaker during call - basic hands free option doesnt work! Thats a very basic feature for me. I had random reboots and FC with vKernel but with DOOM, so far, it seems fine!
Other than that it worked quite well, however i believe these problems mentioned above didnt exist with .234N.
Im still looking for the perfect ROM since CM unfortunately drains the battery and xblaster has many problems with e.g. handsfree call option and Hotspot function this is my last resort!
